Review The Boat Shed Cafe And Bistro - Frankton

Cute little spot tucked away around the marina - the building itself is charming as it is from the gold rush era. Out back, they’ve got an outdoor space facing the lake. The service was friendly and prompt, and the food was decent, though not the most “mind-blowing” brunch/breakfast food I’ve had. I had the salmon waffles and thought it might have been a tad overpriced as the portions of smoked salmon weren’t particularly generous. Regardless, atmosphere was great and I think the tip is to go early (before 10am) so you can snag an outdoor spot before it gets busy as it seems from other reviews, not being able to get a spot by the lake is the main complaint.

A different experience in a good way. Loved the view and atmosphere here, the staff was nice and the food was great. Good range of food to choose from. The Brisket roll was very good and the Mushroom Toast was the star of the day! Outdoor dining was great but the falling leaves and bugs might get in your food or drinks so make sure you have a table with covering of you're dining outside!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Boatshed Cafe in Queenstown, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. I started my meal with a cup of coffee, and it was nothing short of amazing. The rich, aromatic blend was the perfect way to kickstart my morning. For my main dish, I ordered the chorizo scramble eggs, and I was blown away by the flavors. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the chorizo added a delightful kick to the dish. The portion was generous, leaving me completely satisfied. What truly sets Boatshed Cafe apart is the stunning view of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range. The combination of great food and a breathtaking setting makes it a must-visit when in Queenstown. The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I can't recommend Boatshed Cafe enough. Whether you're looking for a great cup of coffee, a delicious meal, or a picturesque lakeside atmosphere, this cafe has it all. I can't wait to visit again!

The breathtaking scenery and delightful breakfast are unique and unmatched. However, the service fell short of our expectations and standards. Highly recommend the honey lemon ginger tea!

Had breaky here and OMG the food was great even though they had bookings they still had tables available for walk-ins. Views were awesome from sitting outside. Nice lil cafe situated on the shores of the lake and hidden away. Well worth the visit.

Wow what a beautiful place to have breakfast. I absolutely love the Boat shed decor, the food options are amazing. I highly recommend the French toast which is a beautiful and moist, with has a custard and ice cream topping covered with berries. The Turkish dukkah eggs was also delicious. The coffees were great and the service was awesome. A must see in Queenstown!

Very friendly stuff, good food, great look on the lake! We had no reservation, but got a table after 15 minutes of waiting. Definitely worth a visit!

What a location! Just a few minutes drive outside of town, we sat 3m from the waterside, looking at the beautiful view and partaking in excellent coffee and food. The coffee was well above the norm (And I drink espresso... so it's not possible to hide a poor shot). We will be back tomorrow!

Essential Visit every time I come to Queenstown. Usually get the Eggs Benedict (which are amazing) but went for the Mushrooms with 2 eggs and feta on the side and it was DELICIOUS. Coffee is great and if you wanna wait you can sit outside which is stunning but even inside the atmosphere is cozy and perfect.

The chorizo scrambled eggs was possibly the best breakfast I've ever had... And the scenery sitting next to the window looking at the lake (because it was 1 degree outside! ) a wonderful venue with friendly and capable staff

Best coffee in Queenstown! We tried the beef sandwich and chicken roti but not as good as the other dish. Great service and amazing view never changed!

It’s not often a brunch place gets 5 stars from me, but the food on offer here blew me away! A tiny two man kitchen produces a delicious varied menu with something for everyone! With a view over the lake and the mountains, with attentive staff, fast service and delicious coffee. I had the cilbir poached eggs…they were probably the most delicious poached eggs I’ve ever had! Alongside the granola we followed up with a warm banana and chocolate muffin! A little out the town centre but a short bus ride away, this is definitely worth a visit! You will not be disappointed!

Our first experience here was so great, we came back again the next day to try the other items on the menu! Coffee was delicious as well, food was astronomical, views were amazing and staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend!! Note: there’s a paid parking (approx $2 an hour) next to this place if you can’t find any free space outside the cafe.

We came here during Sunday brunch time. They looked really busy, but there are tables in front so you can order coffee while you wait. And we were seated in only 15 minutes! It was a nice sunny day, and they have tables on their outdoor patio facing the lake, which we were lucky to get seats on. The view is stunning. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is on the pricey side, but I think the ambiance and quality of food justifies the price. My friend ordered the chorizo scramble and I ordered the mushroom toast with poached egg. Also popular is their French toast which I saw many orders for coming out. All the food is beautifully plated and tastes great! I really enjoyed my mushroom toast. Very generous heap of mushrooms and the bread was chewy and perfectly toasted.
