Have to say Monsoon is the best restaurant of my first trip in NZ. Wine and food matches so great. All the people there are very nice! Trust their suggestions! It won’t let you down.

We were so delighted to choose this restaurant for dinner! Since we’ve had the best chowder and steak, compare to my 20yrs dinning in Australia! Even the roasted veggies and potatoes tastes so much better than the ones we had in Aus.
Came for a feed and a drink, and was very pleasantly surprised.
Food was unexpectedly good (and that's saying a lot as vego fare can be a kitchens test).
Staff were lovely, accommodating, and the drinks were plentiful.

We came here for dinner as we were staying at the Rainforest Retreat next door and we were pleasantly surprised! Delicious drinks with more than 50 gins to choose from and the food was super tasty. We had the pork crackling to start and my husband had the ribs for a main while I had the cauliflower
The food was excellent, we shared the buffalo as a starter cauliflower which was delicious.
The ribs I had as a main course were very tasty as well.
The service was good for how busy the place was when we arrived.
The meal was reasonably priced.

Monsoon Bar & Restaurant is part of the Rainbow Retreat just on Cron Street in the Franz Josef village. Opening hours are 4.30pm until late each day.
