Review Kinross Winery - Bistro - Gibbston

We had a delightful wine tasting in addition to a delicious cheese platter. The staff were amazingly friendly, and they always made sure we were comfortable, hydrated and fresh on a very hot day. Everyone paid attention to all details to make sure our experience was pleasant. We even got the chance to meet Gus & Carla, the chefs, masterminds behind every flavour in the menu. Congratulations for such stunning food and wine selection, we will be back every-time we visit the surroundings of Queenstown :)

The wine testing experience was exceptional. Megan was fantastic and very knowledgeable! She helped us through a diverse selection, providing insightful information about each wine. The ambiance was perfect for savoring the flavors, and the attention to detail in presentation enhanced the overall enjoyment. A truly delightful and educational experience. Highly recommend for both novices and enthusiasts!

Kinross Wines and Cellar Door is a little unique. They actually have five different wineries that you can do tastings from. If you are unsure where to start, they have a “Flight of Fancy” Quiz where you can “Define Your Wine Taste”. It only takes a couple of minutes, and when you are finished, you have the perfect tasting suggestion for your preferences. Kinross has a lovely outdoor area with lounges and a big fireplace. This area looks over the vineyards and the snow-capped mountains. There is accommodation available here as well. This cellar door is also on the Bike and E-bike Wine Trail. We certainly recommend visiting this vineyard.

Beautiful and good vibes accommodation which is close to city, but still very private and classy. The best experience for wine tasting when you stay with them. The best staff must go to the receptionist (Ryan) and another girl from their bistro(helping us taking photos), very helpful and wonderful service mind. Strongly recommend!

The wine tasting we did with Gary was by far the best one we did in Queenstown (and we did a lot)!! And Jamie in the bistro was so lovely and also knew a lot about the wines! We had the best time at Kinross, would definitely recommend.

We visited the tasting room and bistro and both the food and wine were AMAZING. Our wine expert, the one and only Gary, took us on an amazing roller coaster tasting with amazing photos, wines and stories, not to mention laughs. Definitely need to stop in if you are traveling through the area!! We’ll be back someday soon!!

We walked in and we’re able to get a wine tasting! Megan told us all about the 5 wineries they have here and we fell in love with the valli Pinot noirs! So excited to try even more wine from the Kinross wineries!!

We had our Christmas lunch at Kinross and it was wonderful. Nicole and Abby and all the team did a wonderful job looking after us, the food was outstanding. A lovely day had by us all, thank you!

The wine tasting was so much fun! Meghan was an absolute star! My friends and I had the best time with her! I didn't think I'd enjoy wine but Meghan introduced me to dessert wine and I actually bought some. Would highly recommend and do it again!

Hands down the best winery experience in the valley. The wine was the best we’ve had in that area (certainly better than Gibston valley winery which had pretty underwhelming wines to taste). The tastings are intimate at your own personal table, making it feel special. Shout out to Gary who was really knowledgeable, allowing us to feel connected to the wine and it’s growers. Would highly recommend the bistro too, really flavorful and delicious food (could have bigger portions though, the “sharing plates” are not super shareable)

Shelen was fantastic at our wine tasting. We happened to drive past and decided to pop in. They made space for us right away and Shelen shared the story of five unique wines in a fun and enjoyable manner. We both tasted something we ended up loving and purchased a bottle each. Highly recommend Kinross!

This was an amazing experience. The Kinross is such a warm and inviting place. The staff are super friendly and the rooms were great sizes and food was fantastic. The mushroom and bacon with truffle mascarpone was delicious (thanks Romellel for the recommendation) The wine is lovely and the cellar door was brilliant. The winery is close to everything and day trips between the small towns and Queenstown were quick and easy. So close to Cardrona. Thanks to the wonderful staff and especially Romellel for the epic service!

Amazing wine tasting experience with professional, passionate and knowledgeable staff. Greeted warmly by David who then organised a personalised wine tasting for our group of 4. We then had a private room in a wine library and tasted 6 amazing wines with personalised stories with an amazing guide Shelen!! Loved her energy, knowledge and enthusiasm, hope her cat Luna is doing well. Looking forward for a return trip to try a new range of great wines :)

10/10 recommend staying on site and doing the wine tasting with Shelen. The rooms are incredibly cosy with the softest mattresses, the location is incredibly beautiful and the staff are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend the hot tubs (need to book in advance) and doing a wine tasting - Shelen was very knowledgeable and incredible friendly. 1000% recommend.

Love love love this place. Rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean, and a superbly comfortable bed. Gorgeous surroundings, wonderful service and great breakfast. Highly recommend. Bonus you can bring your fur baby. So great to have nice upmarket accomodation with your 🐕

Megan did a fantastic job with the wine tasting for our group. Loved that you get to try a number of wines from different boutique vineyards while enjoying an amazing view.

Excellent! Food was top notch and hospitality never wanting. Wines were amazing and we took bottles to go. 10/10.
