We eat Indian on out of towns trips & always rate them against Tamarind of Gisborne. None so far have come close! Tamarind are a gem of Gisborne dining. The wonderful flavours, value & friendly service will always rate them as our favorite family restaurant.

Delicious food in a great indoor or outdoor restaurant . Service on entrance was awesome. Quick and welcoming. Entree was served quickly, although a little slow between dishes as the night progressed. Mains came out half an hour after we finished our entrees. Everyone enjoyed the food, just went a fair bit longer than we were used to. (2 hrs rather than 1 and a bit).

We loved the food and the customer service. We had asked for extra hot food and what we got was indeed delicious. The mango chutney was my favorite. It was finger licking good. We took chicken chilli and gulab jamus as a take away and both of them were amzing as well.

We ordered takeaway and the food was delicious!! Driver was really polite and they gave us complimentary poppadoms and extra naan. Definitely recommend!

Perfect flavours bound together. Being a Chef, the most delicious Indian food in NZ far better then Auckland. Wonderful service and great people. Will visit every time I am here.

Food is perfection. Resided in Singapore and went to India, but your butter chicken and lamb special is way up of my eats list. The taste are well thought upon, the menu are properly cared for to impress and excite, the place is straightforward, their staffs are attentive and knows what they're doing.
