Review The Works - Gisborne

A treat for us to dine in 5 star atmosphere. Staff were friendly and considerate of our needs. Meals were surprisingly filling. Even enjoyed the Brussel sprouts slightly caramelized and tasty. The curly fries were an awesome little side with a lovely aioli. Yum.😍

Beautiful building! We ate outside and it was beautiful. Inside is nice and heated. The menu is great. The waitress was kind and friendly. The food was delicious!! We liked this place so much we had lunch and dinner here on the same day!

Always a pleasure to come here and dine. The food was excellent as always and it was nice and warm inside. We were well looked after by the staff and put in a nice little private area away from a few large tables which was nice. The atomosphere of the night was relaxing and enjoyable. Decent selection on the menu for food and drinks. I'll definitely be coming back.

Lovely place. We keep coming back. Staff friendly and efficient, good choice of food and wine, very nice outside seating and atmospheric main room. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch...pork belly brioche was mouth watering...hubby loved it..our 6 yr old boy loved his fish and chips and I absolutely loved my eggs Benedict...our waiter Jay was lovely, excellent customer service...highly recommend..we loved our lunch so much, we returned for dinner and the meals are impeccable, our waiter Marc is a superstar too…See you Sunday and Monday before we go home 💜 Tonight’s dinner was delish…hope we didn’t,upset the chef too much asking to take panna cotta home, we love it…Yana is a superstar waitress aswell…see you all in the morning before we go home!!! Located near habuor and 5min walking from city. Good portion size and worth for money. We had pork belly sandwich and seafood chowder. They served us quite fast and even thought place was busy..

Great spot for brekkie. Prices are average for the area, restaurant is visually appealing and service is friendly. Lots of parking too. Egg Benedict with salmon was good and the full English was impressive. Dishes were well presented and flavorful.

Love! The location, decor and atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend the pumpkin risotto, it was creamy with just the right amount of crunch 🤤 finishing the night off with the cheesecake was a hit! Not too sweet and the slice size was just right 👌Each dish was served on the most beautiful plates. So much thought has gone into every element. The Works needs to be on your must visit list!

A surprise... after calling 3 restaurants in the gisborne and all of them being fully booked we called the works and they were avaliable. all i can say is go with no expectations.. great food..

The staff is very friendly and food is delicious. More importantly, it is dog friendly. We will come back again when we visit Gisborne next time.

Arrived on a cruise ship, instead of turning left towards the town centre, turn right, across a car park to the red brick building - much quieter! Only stopped for a drink but othere were having food which looked really good. Nice atmosphere, sat outside. Friendly and helpful staff.
