Review The Dome Cinema & Bar - Gisborne

Such a cool place!!! The cocktail menu was awesome and had a French kiss and a margarita - definitely recommend! Warmer than when we went to the cafe earlier in the day!

Very cosy and stylish cinema, with a great bar. you’re sitting on bean sacks and that is super comfy, feels like cinema at home. Only downside, the pizza was awful, taste like cheap supermarket pizza and was burned.

This place is the actual best. A total vibe. Full of character, charm, and exquisite attention to detail. A lot of love and care goes into creating a product like this, so bravo. If I lived in Giz, I’d be there every week.

OkY so if you love pizza this is a must have! Especially good when paired with a sunshine brewery Gisborne green beer whilst enjoying the blues night. Great food, boutique beer, live music in stunning architecture. What more do you need?

Nice cinema! The restaurant/bar area is also super cosy! Unfortunately we didn’t like the pizza for 22$. Dough was like crispbread, like some from the supermarket.

Well...that was very cool. Had dinner here. Quite exceptional. Fabulous decor, simple menu...I think just 5 or 6 options for a main course... the service are great and personal and professional. It has an adjoining cinema apparently. Didnt go there, just had dinner. Probably only has about 10 tables...maybe one or two more...hard to say. Perhaps you should book. We didn't. Even better is that it's hard to find...tucked inside the inside of an old building. Just a delight.

A delightful community cinema in one of Gisbornes beautiful old buildins. A real gem, with a bar next door what more could you ask for. A delightful evening of fun and entertainment, friendly, funny staff who were happy to help with whatever you wanted.

Amazing place, great pizzas and novel but extremely comfortable experience sitting in bean bags to watch movie.

Funky little cinema where you can watch arthouse movies from the comfort of a beanbag or comfy couch while eating pizza and enjoying your favorite tipple. Great bar, worth a visit even if you don't like what's playing. Highly recommended!

What a venue!! Staff were amazing, setting was gorgeous, food was fantastic. LOVE an interval in a film, particularly when the hostess then plays Barry White (it was valentine's day)!! Just Wonderful.

AMAZING Experience!!! It was our first time at the Dome and it was far better than expected. The service is excellent, the theatre is beautiful and the beanbags are a novelty. You get to order food for the intermission and the pizzas are pretty good!! I love how they show more foreign films. Can’t wait to come back!

Best spot in town for a night out, excellent service, food and cocktail menu. The atmosphere is really cool, hard to explain but it's like teleporting back in time

PERFECT! The gorgeous interior, delicious food, the lovely lady that plumped up our beanbag, the super sweet waitress from Seattle. Absolutely lovely.

Excellent time at the Dome last night, great setting, brilliant staff, tasty food and a really enjoyable film. As someone who lives out of town I look forward to visiting again when I'm next in Gisborne.
