I never leave reviews but I had too! This place is amazing. Kai was perfect! Chips were perfectly cooked and so was the fish. Bubble teas are so reka!! Not from Gisborne but would definitely come back and eat here again 😍😍 situated right next to the beach, just such a perfect nice place to eat.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic restaurant where I indulged in a remarkable lunch that left me completely satisfied. The star of the show was undoubtedly the fish and burger combo that I had the pleasure of experiencing. The freshness of the fish was evident, and the flavors were expertly balanced. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a seafood lover or a burger aficionado, this establishment will leave you craving more.

Just had a fantastic supper there this evening. Excellent service and a delicious lunch. We ate everything on our plate, so bravo to the chef for a beautifully prepared presentation and delicious flavour in all the items. If you want some wine or beer, bring your own. We called ahead of time because there didn't seem to be information about a bar at the location.

Had a really enjoyable visit at The captain's Cafe today. The food and coffee were fantastic, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent; I had the Big Breakfast, which included 3 crispy hashbrowns, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, eggs on French toast, mushrooms, and fried tomatoes. Highly Recommend Getting a Coffee or Breakfast.

I've never been disappointed whether I eat there or order takeaway. Excellent FISH , a wide variety, and an excellent choice of burgers. friendly personnel. I consider it lucky that Neighbourhood Fish is located right in Gisborne. table service also looked great and well within social-distancing rules.

We had a lovely brunch here today.The personnel was courteous and competent. I had a vegan avocado stack that had fried mushrooms, fresh cherry tomatoes, and avocado on top of black bean patties. One of the nicest brunches I've recently eaten in Gisborne. You should definitely check them out, in my opinion!

May become more tourist friendly now that Labour weekend has past and summer ha begun. Had to go 3 times because 1st we arrived from the road after dining and takeaway services had ended, 2nd we arrived after dining room had been scheduled to close but the owners had closed almost immediately for takeaway also, 3rd we barely were allowed to use the dining room for the last 30 minutes of announced service and could not order from the ice cream bar as takeaway because the till was closed over an hour early from announced time.

Lovely restaurant in Gisborne Great atmosphere, delicious food. Would definitely return when next in Gisborne. Good choice of menu and friendly service. The entire was great chefs special.. A enjoyable evening in relaxing surroundings.

Delicious coffee friendly service. It is always concisten & i buy coffee from them regularly. Good place to sit nd chill. I have had mocher coffee there & they are always excellent. I haven't tried the food there yet that is next on . The to-do list, but coffee is fab...😊😊

Great food and amazing location

Fresh fish and seasonal fruit on the meal. And vegan/gluten free options are available here. We also had a nice and warm chocolate with an incredible pattern on it. Very impressed. This is a good place to have breakfast and doorstep to the beach for a walk after.

I've been coming to Captain Morgans most of my life. Its good honest food. Service is always pleasant along with the atmosphere. Update: Went there this morning. 2x flat white 2x condon bleu $16. Service not the best, not the worse Condon Bleu looked and tastiest like it was cooked yesterday. Hard as rock! Coffee was ok, no sugar packets at the counter, and it's little stuff like that, that are annoying for me as a customer. Was going to originally have breakfast but $16 for avo/toast & egg just didn't sit with me today. General standard has lowered in my opinion.

Perfectly fried fish with a nice crunchy batter with a generous portion of crispy fries. Tried the salt and pepper squid too which was also cooked perfectly, it was just a bit too salty for me.

Really enjoyed the calamari and scallops. So much so I would happily order them again. Coffee remains fantastic! We also has poached eggs and bacon and chicken and waffles. Couldn't fault wither dish! And as for the bubble tea! All. My. Days!! This is the first time I'd ever heard of it, let alone had a drink of one and it was fantastic! Just a bit iffy about the 10% holiday surcharge but I guess they have to recoup some of their covid losses somehow??

Good place to have a fish and chips. Nothing special it looks a bit like a fastfood and the food is pretty good. I like the taste there. There is option to park very close on the parkplace
