Review Hansan Vietnamese Restaurant - Glenfield

Sita Karawakul
My first time here. I am very impressed with the location and the atmosphere. The inside is very open and a very friendly family. I love it. The service is great. Entre is tasty but in my opinion, it is quite small. I would love if it a bit bigger. The main dish is massive, oriental favor just I think we get more rice and possibly if more meat a bit will be great. Overall I am very happy with the meal. I am definitely will go back and try different dishes.

Soooo delicious. Certainly top 3 dumplings I've ever had in the life. The staff were a sweet vibe, food was bang on yum! Highly recommend. She's a contender!

Best Vietnamese food and a really good place for a gathering. I celebrated my birthday at Hansan and their service was great.

Food and service is great. Good variety of food to choose from. Food was served extremely quick. Food is a little bit pricey but I think it's worth it for the quality and quantity of the meals. Highly recommend if you have Vietnamese cravings.

Excellent food and service! This branch also serves alcohol. Love the food here, we usually go for summer roll, spring roll, beef curry with rice, pork & prawn pancake or some vermicelli dish, coconut or jackfruit shake, pearl milk tea and occasionally chuck a banana sago into the mix. Perfection!!! đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Friendly staff, spacious seating, nothing too fancy! We add here for the food! We both went for the House special Bun Bo Hue. It was very authentic, served with round rice noodles and a variety of pork cuts. Complex broth for a western palate, not too spicy 😉 I think serving size was enough for me but can’t imagine it going far for diners with a deeper stomach! On the pricier side too $21 but well worth the experience.

My wife and I have been coming here for years & is one of her favourite places to eat. Great food, very quick service and friendly staff. Some people in comments below sound a little fussy to me 😅

Yummy Vietnamese food! We ordered fried Tofu sweet Chilli sauce, fried chicken wings, pan fried chicken with lemongrass rice, summer rolls and vietnamese coffee. Loved everything! Will be back for sure.

Much improved since they changed the chefs 👹‍🍳 keep it up and I will keep visiting your store.

Food was amazing!. Pork is crazy good regardless of dish. The Banmi here is some of the freshest tasting I have had 10/10 would come again.

This place sure has gone down the hill, I used to be a regular. Seems like the new owner didn't really care much other than put in some new furniture & menu booklet.<br/>I usually order the tomato beef soup with noodle & it taste so diluted, I would never return again.<br/>And on the side note the owner took over the next door Japanese restaurant Narita & their quality has gone down yet the pricing has gone up. I would rather spend my $ elsewhere.

I ordered rice noodles with a half bowl of soup, the environment is not good either

Not very pleasant experience with its food. We ordered cooked and raw beef pho, curry chicken noodle and a side of lemongrass pork chop. The pho’s broth was bland, only could taste the MSG, no fresh herbs on the top, the cooked beef was chewy. The pork chop was not really a piece of pork chop, but just a slice of thin pork schnitzel. We have come to eat this place for many years, the quality of food has went down quite a bit unfortunately.

I used to love eating at hansan, the city branch, the new Lynn and the new market one.. now that I am pregnant I was craving for vietnamese lemongrass pork.. and we just so happen to be in northshore so I told my husband to just go to the wairau hansan.. originally wanted to go to the new market one.. but haven't tried it here so we just went and hey it's the closest to us.. anyway, back to my pork.. I was enjoying eating it and feeding my 2 year old with it too.. but just after we pretty much ate almost everything found a hair (first time) and thought nah, I won't complain it's okay took it out and threw it on the floor haha... then continued eating and then second time found this so I took a photo of it.. still didnt complain coz I also work at a customer service establishment at the airport so i know how it feels.. so I went and paid, told the lady "just so you know, my pork lemon grass has hairs on it" and she just smiled and hardly hear a sorry hahaha.. my husband told me already that's why he doesnt like hansan, not good service and a little bit unhygienic.. we just left just now.. maybe the lady will remember me if they check this review now.. she's in a ponytail with red lipstick I actually told her it might be her hair but she's not the one who served us, it was a guy with a dreadlock ponytail.. hubs said, it wont be the servers coz the hair is really "in" the meat.. just maybe, check your food first before you finish everything, don't be so HUNGUS like a preggo me 😖

I arrived just after 9:20pm and ordered immediately. I ordered one of the pork vermicelli dishes. The service was very quick and the food was nice, as I generally expect from Hansan. <br/><br/>However, from arrival until I left, which was no later than 9:55pm because I had to get home by 10pm, the staff were intermittently talking to each other in mandarin, basically b*tching that I should have come earlier. I am white, so they probably assumed I could not understand mandarin. <br/><br/>edit: I have adjusted my grade from 3 star to 4 star because I have had many positive experiences at Hansan. I just hope the serving and cleaning staff are more mindful of what they say in front of customers in the future.

This place is your go to when you feel like eating some good food at an affordable price! The noodles with pork is my favorite! Great price for a big serving that can feed 2 people. Also the fresh rolls are one of my favorite! You must try this restaurant!

I got the Panfried Chicken with Lemongrass on Vermicelli. I always used to eat their rice noodle soup, and it was my first time getting a cold Vermicelli. It was really yum! :)

Who does not love a good serving of a hot flavourful noodle soup on a cold rainy day, it gives you that comfort and warmth every delicious bite and that’s what I exactly feel when I order C14 or P09 at Hansan’s. If you’re a regular customer at Hansan then you will know what this codes relate to but for those who haven’t been there then C14 is Pan Fried Chicken with Lemon Grass Egg Noodles Soup and P09 is the Pork Spare Ribs Fine Egg Noodles Soup. These two are their most popular noodle soup dish and when we dine in there this is the majority of the orders I see in customers table.

Had a late lunch here after arrived Auckland. My fiancé used to came here often and he always raved about this place. <br/><br/>We had deep fried spring rolls, pork ribs with egg noodle and combination seafood egg noodle. My fiancé still love this place because it reminiscent the past. Honestly, for me the food is just mediocre. More like food court quality rather than a restaurant but I still enjoyed it very much.

Great hangover food, or if you're craving for some cheap filling greasy and salty food.<br/>Start off with the deep fried spring rolls to share - be sure to wrap one in cabbage (cool the spring roll down a little as it might burn your mouth) and dip it in the special fish sauce dip<br/>I always get P08 (Pork Spare Ribs Rice Noodles Soup). The noodles are huge, I can never finish all of it. However I finish the meat, which I dip in the sriracha + sweet brown sauce mixed together.<br/>If I feel like a rice dish, I order the B19 (Stir Fried Beef with Black Peper Sauce on Rice) but its not as great as the rice noodle soup dishes.<br/>Wash this all down with a glass of sweet ice white coffee and you're done!

Popular Viet restaurant around the neighborhood :) fast service, staffs are very efficient and speaks good English. My go to Pho place :9 toilet is very clean too!

Came here so much growing up, and I always order the egg noodles with lemon grass chicken or pork and for dessert I always get the taro and coconut sticky rice. The portion sizes are very big, and it will definitely be very filling.<br/>The service was pretty normal, I did notice the table next to me self serve themselves water and menus as the waiter was busy. Otherwise when he wasn’t needed he just sat in the corner on his phone. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž<br/><br/>I haven’t been here for a long time, I got here at around 5pm and it was quite empty and I was a little shocked but as we were leaving an hour later, the familiarity of the busy restaurant was back.<br/><br/>Food 4/5<br/>Cost 5/5<br/>Service 3.5/5<br/>Atmosphere 3/5

Went here a month or so ago and ordered a wonton noodle soup. Pretty yum! But no mercury plaza 😍 food is really cheap and quick to come, and beer / wine the same. Probably wouldn’t go back because no real experience but nice enough!

This is a place I go a lot and a meal I order a lot, love the combination of flavours and textures with the crispy lemon grass chicken and the smooth vermicelli noodles nicely complemented with some fresh veg for a bit of crunch. Topped with fish sauce hoisin and siracha YUM! I’ve tried to make myself and just can’t do it justice! There are several Hansan locations in Auckland give it a try C13 is my fave đŸ€—đŸ€—đŸ€—

I used to come here all the time when I was young but for some reason haven’t been in the past few years, so finally decided to try it again after all this time.<br/><br/>I ordered the Pan Fried Chicken with Lemon Grass & Rice Noodle Soup. It was every bit as delicious as I remembered it to be. There was an abundance of perfectly cooked rice noodles in a perfectly seasoned soup. The chicken was just the right amount of crisp and flavour. The only downside was that the chicken was pretty much dripping in oil.<br/><br/>Quick and friendly service was also a bonus.
Hope đŸ„°
Really like this place. Food was amazing and came pretty quick, prices are decent. Ordered the chicken lemon grass noodle soup and was not disappointed. Will go back again. Dessert was also nice.

Hansan never fails to turn your culinary frown upside down. A true affordable gift for Aucklanders who don't eat much due to costs of higher end restaurants.<br/><br/>The curry chicken is a laksa style curry served with all options (beef, chicken or lamb). Great customer service at all branches I have been too far better than a lot of places around Auckland. (snobby and don't seem to want to work their). Most likely a law or art student :) haha<br/><br/>Flavour profiles are top noch and portioning for price is why it is so packed. With takeaway options and calling for ordering it never got better! When I gander into the kitchen seems they cook out booths for 10 hours plus which is awesome and their mise en plus and kitchen hygiene seem to be great from the open window.<br/><br/>Deffinantly recommend going to any branch in auckland.

This place use to be my favorite place for Vietnamese food. Today I order my favorite dish but was highly disappointed. The shredded pork is off with a very strong off sour smell. Serving off food is a huge no no. The pork has half fat and only half meat. I hope I don’t get sick tonight. High in price. Omg just not right anymore

Taste different from pho bein sometimes I like it here sometime I go to pho bein lol I think they use different types of chillies too good for quick easy pho time 😚

Came for dinner at 9pm. Were seated and served tea in a water streaked teapot which wasn’t too pleasant. Very kid-friendly layout with colours, fake fish and a claw machine. <br/>Waitress kept lingering and asking if we were ready to order, third time around we ordered a chicken curry and bbq pork noodle soup. <br/>Didn’t take long for the food to arrive neither for their cleaning to start. Mopping, vacuuming, sweeping around us while we ate rushing us to finish and it was only 9:30! They flipped the sign to say they were closed so we scoffed our food, paid and left. <br/>Would have liked to stay a little longer but mixing cleaning with food isn’t my sort of ideal night out.<br/>The food on the other hand was good, the pork was DELICIOUS the soup tasteless. The curry wasn’t my favourite but my partner loved the flavours and tender chicken.
Sapphire Crystal
Best n I mean the best Vietnamese food on the shore.we normally do a takeaway from here as it's hard to find a table that's available. But even on all their takeaways the presentation n taste is outstanding.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't very crowded. Our appetiser and drinks came to us in a few minutes. The deep fried spring roll was great.<br/><br/>Then my boyfriend and I waited for soooo long to get our mains. 30 minutes later we finally got the attention from the waitress and asked where our food was. They actually did not enter our food into the machine/forgot to/machine broke down- a little puzzling that 4 waitresses stood and sat at the corner and did not wonder why me and my boyfriend still did not have our mains yet.<br/><br/>Meanwhile other people who came in later than us finished their meal before ours even got on our table.<br/><br/>All we got was a sorry and we had to pay for the whole meal. I guess at least the food was good.<br/><br/>Only took one picture as I was already starving from the 40+ minute long wait

2 of us eat at Hansen Newmarket regularly, so this review is benchmarked. Staff were really friendly and very efficient. Tables were cleaner and the atmosphere was not as stark as Hansan Newmarket. We ordered the same mains that we were familiar with. One meal was delivered within 10mins of ordering, the other meal was delivered around 20 mins of ordering. This let them down. The food was as tasty as Hansan Newmarket. Very nice considering the price. We would come back here. I feel the meal delay was simply a glitch.

I came here craving for my usual pork spare ribs rice noodle soup. I came between lunch and dinner so the restaurant was basically empty.<br/><br/>The waitress was polite and served me efficiently. The wait was less than 10 minutes since there weren’t a lot of people to serve.<br/><br/>The soup seemed more bland than usual and the pork was quite fatty and oily. The noodles were able to dilute the oiliness of the meat.<br/><br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Service: 9/10<br/>Price: 7/10

Stop in for dinner quickly with a friend , place was clean and we were served pretty much straight away which was good because I was hungry lol , waiter was polite and very helpful, food came out pretty fast as well , very enjoyable meal thank you

Hansan is my go to every time!! Such tasty food made fast and super affordable I have tried most of the menu and have had nothing to complain about! The staff are also super friendly
Tristan Poblador Barga
Hansan used to be 'cheap and heaps' now its 'expensive and little'..:(<br/>There are better alternatives close by.<br/>We purchased pork on egg noodle soup and hainanese chicken. Fifteen dollars each. The quality is still the same but its not worth for the price.<br/>They have upgraded their utensils which is good.<br/>
Ryan Wang
Price has gone up again??? Why? It's still the same cheap stuff.<br/>Customer service was even worse than I remembered, the waitress dropped the menus in our hands without even making eye contact and grunted towards an open seat. <br/>Tables were sticky and half the tables in the place had unfinished food that hadn't been cleared. I used to enjoy this place but this experience has been very disappointing.

I came and visited here yesterday because Phobien was closed. i didn't eat here for a long time. Hansan Wairau has plenty of tables in a large space. There is quite a few waiting staff so service is pretty quick too. You will get seated and served with hot tea straight after you sit down<br/><br/>Soup tasted good. I was quite surprised with the taste because it wasnt this good before as long as I remember. I prefer noodles at Phobien better than here tho. I ordered rare beef noodles but the portion of meat was so small as you can see in the picture. Why? I don't know if their portion has been always like this or it just happened accidentally.
Couple Of Cheap Westies
The place is a little run down, colourful walls etc. but the food is what gets me here! The service is fast and delicious with all the flavours in between. Though it's probably not your fancy dining option it's more for a quick pop in and out sort of dinner. The lemongrass chicken on vermicelli is bomb!!!!! Tender chicken and it's very filling. My friend got the spring rolls on vermicelli and that was just as good. The summer rolls are so big! You won't need more than 2 to fill you up along with your main. I'm glad this is a chain restaurant and there's a closer one to my house that I will now be becoming very familiar with! Thanks â˜șâ˜ș

I was very disappointed with the dessert I ordered. It was a Traffic Light drink. The coconut milk tasted so yucky and off. Crappy customer service.
John BENS
Sorry to say this like the others has gone downhill.<br/>Of the three dishes we had all were edible but below average. <br/>This brand has been ruined by indifferent service. The waiter could barely get his eyes off his phone <br/>Had to ask for more tea <br/>Only smile I got was when I paid<br/>After two hours I am.still drinking water to combat the msg attack <br/>Will not be back at any of these places
ChoMpR
Unfortunately the only good item on the menu 4 me are the deep fried spring tools with th lettuce wraps and lovely dressing. Have tried the beef stew and chicken curry on seperate occasions, the meat wasn't very tasty on either, like it was old. <br/>Ordered the RAW meat rice noodle soup for takeaway, got home and actually received COOKED meat fine egg noodle soup.
Jie Guan
That's nice place. The raw and cooked noodles really nice and the soup so delicious, cheap price. But the service and environment not good.
Beardie
Food: Recently changed to a less salty broth which I find great! The noodles are not the best and often overcooked though.<br/><br/>Price: Average price at ~$14.<br/><br/>Environment: Average and nothing special. <br/><br/>Service: Okay service. But "I cannot take orders" was a direct quote by a staff then walked off and never got another staff for us to take an order. It was a bit of an akward moment.<br/><br/>I will return for rice noodles to this place as its close to where I reside. Great location.
Chris L
Price is very reasonable and located is in the hearted of north shore. Taste is very good too. Always visit here once a week. Entree and dessert menus are very nice too
Blackpearl
Whenever I have a craving for vietnamese food I always come here since I live in north shore. I like their lemongrass chicken and their chicken pho. Their portions are quite big too, so it really fills you up. Love the interior of the restaurant and it gives you that comfy vibe. Staffs are good and attentive.
Vik Singh
My partner does not like this place but I don't mind eating here have been there for dinner 3 - 4 times .... there is some wait time in getting your food .... but I will rate is average place .... prices are ok too
Raymond Tiong
Even though their prices have crept up over the years, Hansan is still a good place for group lunches. They have a broad range of Chinese-style Vietnamese food, and lots of Asian desserts and drinks to choose from as well. <br/><br/>Their egg noodles aren't the freshest, so maybe stick to their vermicelli or rice mains if you're picky about that. Personally, I like their chicken curry and lemongrass chicken dishes.<br/><br/>Service is generally good and premises are reasonably clean.
Elena Olive Fanene
The food is delicious and very good value for money but the wait time to be served and the customer service is shocking we were waiting to be asked if we wanted desserts but Noone came to clear the table or ask if we wanted drinks or desserts so we left with out dessert
Andrean
Nice place to go for Vietnamese food in Northshore. I used to prefer the Newmarket branch but we came here last weekend and I have to change my opinion now. I think it is either they change the chef or the management now. Both food and service are better. Definitely we will come back 😊<br/>
Jazmin Lee
My s/o and I always come here if we're looking for a cheap, warm feed. We love Vietnamese food and I always get the lemon grass chicken with egg noodle soup, while he usually gets wonton soup or the combination rice. The food never fails me, the desserts are amazing and the atmosphere is pretty comfortable. We always leave feeling happy and full without that greasy gross feeling 😊
Queena
Pretty the same as their Newmarket store which is great. Ordered my usual raw and cooked beef PhĂŽ beef noodles. Would've ordered their coconut water as well but I wasn't paying so couldn't break their bank lol <br/><br/>It's not filling if you just have a main without entrĂ©e/appetisers or dessert. I don't feel satisfied each time I go to Hansan with just a main 🙄
Eve Espino
My favorite restaurant! Where we go to eat if we can't decide where to go for lunch. Fast, efficient service; consistent flavorful food. My go-to is the pork lemongrass with vermicelli, wontons and the yang chow fried rice. I've had the potato curry chicken before too which was delicious. Their weakness is the desserts section but you don't go to Hansan for dessert 😬
“Dailee” 25% Off Zomato Gold
Happy cheerful place. We are frequent visitors in all Hansan branches, especially when the weather gets colder. They serve Vietnamese style noodles soup at reasonable price (about $15). We like to order their drinks as well, my fav is Jackfruit shake. Food always comes reasonably fast and portion is decent too (when you eat in), I feel their portion shrunk when you take-out.
Jamie Murray
Good price and good food! Haven't had a lot of Vietnamese cuisine in my time but was glad we came to Hansan, will be a regular spot in the future I'm sure :)
Robert Adams
Been here several times now, staff always friendly and eager to help. Food is always delicious served promptly, meats are always tender and juicy. Desserts are amazing and the taro coconut rice is amazing, a range of tasty drinks to suit is available also. Definitely the best Vietnamese on aucklands north shore!
Taru Nathan
Out of all the hansan places ive been to this one by far is my favorite based on the food. The food there is the best ive tasted, like they actually took the time to cook it how they would want it every time. When ever ive been to the other branchs its fast service but also tastes like they made it in a hurry esp when the noodles in the soup are still stuck together. The service is efficient and staff are really nice but very apolygetic if they get one thing wrong. Highly recommend this branch over ther others 👌👌
Joanna Marie Francisco
average food but fast service. We tried out this resto before we watched a movie. They have a wide range of menu. Food was served in less than 15mins. The serving was really generous compared to the price. But taste was average. Nothing really special.
Toru Tres
Affordable food. Average service by staff, quick service from the kitchen to the table. This is were you can threat your in-laws for dinner, affordable and yummy rice noodles.
A Tale Of Two Tummies
Food ordered:<br/>Pork Spare Ribs w/ Prawns on Rice<br/>Pan Fried Pork w/ Lemon Grass & Egg Noodles Soup<br/>Coke Zero (can)<br/><br/>Bill: $28.60<br/><br/>Big tummy: To be fair, I don't find myself craving Vietnamese food too often, but when I do, Hansan is usually where I go for my fix. The place is relatively cheap, the portions are filling and the food is decent. This time around I opted for the pan fried pork and egg noodle soup. The pork was cooked and seasoned beautifully, though I mixed it with some of my girlfriend's rice just to mellow out a bit of the lemongrass (I tend to find the taste a bit overpowering otherwise). I absolutely adore the brown sauce (for the life of me, I can't think what it is called) that comes in the bottle on the table and usually drown my noodles in it. Like seriously, that sauce is the one thing that keeps me coming back to Hansan. The only criticism I had from out visit was that it took them aaaages to take our order (we came @ 9pm and there were only like three other tables occupied), though they brought our food out pretty quick, so that kinda balanced itself out. I also worked out that the cans of drink are $3 each, which I find to be surprisingly pricey (no wonder there is no mention of the prices on the fridge). Other than that though, Hansan is still my preferred place for decent Vietnamese (as long as they keep that sauce).<br/><br/>Little tummy: First of all, basically any dish that features prawns is going to win me over... and this was no exception. For me the highlight was, of course, the two prawns that came with the dish. They were cooked to perfection and were actually a decent size. I found the pork to be a bit too oily for me though and I couldn't finish it all. The accompanying salad was a nice touch though and offered a reprieve from the oiliness of the pork. I tried my boyfriend's noodles too, but they weren't really for me (I'm definitely more of a rice girl). With the prawns a hit and the pork a fail, Hansan gets a passing C grade from me.
WeiTing Ashley Shyu
My family have been here numerous times. My brother is probably the biggest fan, being able to devour 2-3 dessert drinks following his dinner. We all enjoy their coconut cream desserts. The combination of grass jelly and coconut cream is surprisingly great. The red bean desserts are also tasty. For my main, I usually order the wonton egg noodle soup or a similar dish. Portion sizes and prices are decent.<br/><br/> I like coming here with the family but probably wouldn't go otherwise because it Vietnamese cuisine isn't usually something I crave. If you like Vietnamese food you'll probably rate this higher after dining here yourself!
Angela (A Style Collector)
If I'm after cheap yet filling food, Hansan is the place to go. I used to live close to this so I went here all the time. Almost once or twice a month. This place doesn't disappoint in delivering quick and good food. This is one of my best cheap eats in Auckland.<br/><br/>I usually like to try different things on the menu but Hansan is different. I always go for P10 which is the pork spare ribs on rice. It is the best one there but I have tried the pork and chicken with lemongrass, hainanese chicken and the egg noodles soup. I like the fried wontons for a starter too.<br/><br/>For drinks, I always go for either the mango shake or pearl milk tea. This place has fast but good service and I will keep going back to it.
Quattro Alas
This is my comfort food restaurant. They have good servings and very reasonable price. Because it's noodle soup and not fried, good healthy option, as well.
Eric Mendez
Cheap and tasty! A good start so far. We've been here before and it's part of the list of places to eat. Perfect for a cold day and for one looking for light and healthy food. <br/><br/>Always loved the Wanton with rice noodle plus fresh shrimp wraps on the side. You cant go wrong.
Musings Of A Foodie
Part of my top 10 cheap eats list. This is not the place to take someone on a first date. It's not fancy but cosy. This is the place you go if pay day is a long way away and you hangers after a busy day. $12-$15/dish, who can go wrong with that. Their food hits the spot. From rice to noodle soup with a side of crispy pork. The place is clean, service is good and fast.
Chin And Prony Powichitkul
Nice clean place, no ambiance whatsoever.<br/>Food is average. Not bad but not amazing and definitely not authentic.<br/>I have been to all the other Hansan and can definitely say this one tastes the furthest from being vietnamese. <br/>Leaving the authenticity out, foodwise, the beef in my dish was very chewy and lacked the authentic spices.<br/>The wonton broth was bland but the wonton itself was overwhelming with flavor. Our entree was good though the fresh rolls had heaps of herbs which was amazing. <br/>Service was almost non existant, the staff were attentive and quick but lack smile and conversational skills which left the atmosphere of the reataurant really quite as there were only a couple of tables in there including us. Not in a hurry to come back here.
Stango
Cheap prices for quality food. Revisted a number of times. Favs include beef pho, spring rolls on vermicelli and lemongrass chicken vermicelli. Good range of traditional sweet drinks / desserts. Lots of tables so I've never had to wait for a table by there are always customers there. Quick and consistant service. Great job!
Nat
Been here several times. I usually get the Curry chicken with egg noodles and have enjoyed it every time. Spring rolls are good too. Tried the Banana sago pudding for dessert- delicious. They usually customize our order for us as requested and have consistently offered good, quick, food and service.
C Carr
I have only been here a handful of times but food was good with big portion sizes. Great for a casual meal when you a too lazy to cook. Great for those who love again food
Tritip Kittitanarux
I usually don't rate any restaurant below 3 unless they are really unacceptable, extra 4$ for very thin 3 pieces of pork ham. New owner... this is not how you run a business, previous owner (the brothers) has built a good reputation but this new owner has totally ruined it. Shame on you!! Only great staff but if you try to charge me extra $4 for only 3 pieces of very very thin ham....no way that I will come back again, I will go to other places like Le Vietnamese or Cafe Hanoi and will be happy to pay more there with tips, rather pay cheap and eat here !!!
Minily
Granted, that neither the owners nor the people who run this cafe are Vietnamese, I have to say that value for money, the food is consistently good.<br/><br/>I stick to the traditional Vietnamese dishes such as the Pho or other soup choices with egg or rice noodles.  I always find the broth rich and complex, although every now and then I think someone in the kitchen gets a little bit to generous with the white or black pepper.  <br/><br/>Try the traditional pork summer rolls for something different - I prefer these to the prawn ones.  Also if you're a fan of lemongrass flavours, have a nibble on some chicken wings for an entree.<br/><br/>If you're a fan of trying quirky asian drinks (traffic lights, red beans, jackfruit) worth giving it a shot here.
Steph
This is restaurant is definitely a great place to eat. Their are lots of seats available and it was quite comfortable as it felt clean. There were many choices to choose from but i would recommend the spring rolls and any soup dish with noodles.
Romy Lee
I love hansan!! I always get the chicken vermicelli and spring rolls and they never disappoint. all the food I've tried there has been great
Amy Stack
Nice and compfortable restaurant with a clean feeling and prompt customer service.  Food feels really healthy, where you feel full, satisfied but not like you have eaten heaps of grease. perfect! - it would help if the sauces on the table had labels to tell what they where.  It would be nice to have a few more seafood dishes.. enjoyable place to dine.
Ronald Rey Ong
Nice restaurant. The food is alright and the place looked new. I would still prefer other Vietnamese restaurant such as JK or Hai Phong over Hansan unless they put more servings on their dishes or lower the price range a bit.
Where.iate
I cannot speak for their whole menu, but I ordered the prawn summer rolls for takeaway (to take to the cinema next to it, so it wasn't very far) and it has put me off eating Viet spring rolls for a while... <br/><br/>The roll was stuffed with too much vermecilli and not enough of everything else. Basically it just tasted like I was eating chewy tasteless flour. If that is the preview to the rest of their food, I don't think I would want to sample any more.
ChilliLover
If you live in glenfield wairau area, this restaurant should be your default. I love Vietnamese cuisine and Hansan does it well. The food is good value for money and the ambiance is inviting. The hosts are friendly and do make sure you are taken care off. <br/><br/>I ordered stir fried chicken over rice. The shredded vegetables gave the whole Vietnamese experience. <br/><br/>I would choose this restaurant over any in the north shore area. Well done.
Andrew Percival
Extensive menu, always quick and clean, can't go wrong here

Very disappointed.<br/><br/>It's been ages since I have been to Hansan, I wasn't impressed with their food, for the same price or cheaper, I can get much nicer food elsewhere.<br/><br/>Their menu is basically like a takeaway menu, you can pick chicken/pork/beef option for the same dish. The meat is poor quality and you can tell they do not put much effort into making the meal.<br/><br/>What's more, when my food did come, there was an insect (probably a mosquito) in my food. I only realised when I ate almost half the dish. The insect was probably amongst the noodles when they cooked it, which meant that the noodles weren't properly stored.<br/><br/>I don't think I will ever go there again. Waste of money.

A group of friends and myself had dinner here a few days ago, and we loved it. It was the first time I had been to any of the Hansans in Auckland but I had heard good things about them. Even one of our friends, who isn't the biggest fan of Asian cuisine loved it!<br/><br/>The service is fantastic, and the food comes really fast. Someone in our group had a problem with his meal, and the staff were really apologetic and made him a new dish. They even gave him a free drink. We were really impressed with the service. <br/><br/>The food and drink comes in big portions, which is great. They have a huge variety of drinks and desserts, as well as food. Overall a very good experience.

My favourite vietnamese restaurant so far, excellent service, great foods, great prices, the only thing I didn't enjoy was the wonton soup. But, again, maybe it just me. But the others are great.

food was good value for money which is perfect if your on a budget but the meal was still very filling the menu needs a bit more information especially for people like me who don't really eat Vietnamese food very often so don't know what there having but apart from that would go back.

Bright and open setting with lovely big window for natural light. Waiting staff are off high customer service standards. Very short wait for food with an amazing selection (including drinks and desserts). Affordable prices, feel good food!

Good food for a good price. Their dishes are an average of $10.<br/>I like their vermicelli, it comes with fresh grated carrot, cucumber, lettuce and other veggies. A very refreshing meal. Their taro and coconut rice pudding is just divine. Have been a regular for two years and always go back. Very consistent

Top choice if you are in that area for quick food, cheap and nice, but no service at all.

Hansen is a lovely place for a quick meal with friends. The dishes here are cheap, fresh, quick and generously proportioned. At first glance, there is a lot of variety in the menu but you soon realise it's the same dish with a different type of meat or noodles. <br/><br/>My favourite dish is the grilled pork and vermicelli salad and the summer rolls. Their drinks menu is definitely worth checking out as they have all sorts of quirky Asian drinks!
