Review Woodlands Garden Grove Cafe - Gordonton

Exceptionally good value food. Lovely huge wedding reception grounds with large indoor and outdoor seating for good sized groups. The speed of the coffee delivery seems to vary somewhat irrespective of the group size. This however is becoming a regular thing at many cafes with only one barista on. I think it's something to be mindful of if you're pressed for time. I however was happy to enjoy the lovely atmosphere and beautiful gardens and lawns and sit on the wifi checking out some cycling gear I didn't need.😁

Came to Woodlands for a Christmas work lunch (party of 18). I currently have some somewhat frustrating dietary requirements but they were very accommodating in providing me with food that was safe for me to eat. Bonus was that everything was really tasty rather than it feeling like something was thrown together as an afterthought, which I have experienced in other places. The cafe was very busy with both routine patrons and other large groups like mine and I think the staff handled things quite well. I'm not sure if any of them got time to catch their breath because there was plenty going on, so I commend them for that. As far as the setting goes, Woodlands is as lovely as ever. The place always feels like a relief from town and traffic and supermarkets and malls. You can just go there and be, even when it is busy. Given the number of people there, it wasn't especially loud which is a benefit of al fresco dining, I suppose. The gardens are lovely and the grounds are perfectly kept. Definitely recommend.

New name, but still great food. Well worth the drive to the wonderful Woodlands Estate and Gardens. The cafe is situated by the lawn oval, with great terrace views. Tasty cabinet and menu selection. The perfect treat for Summer.

Charming 'historic cricket pavilion' cafe - - - cricket oval setting - - - Comprehensive well balanced menu - - - Beautifully presented cabinet food(decorated with flowers and greenery) - - - Delicious nicely styled cuisine - - - Warm welcoming friendly staff - - - Enclosed terraced cafe seating overlooking the lawn oval (additional outdoor patio tables if desired) - - - bonus of historic garden and historic homestead as part of the estate within which cafe is located. A beautifully bucolic countryside experience ------- well worth a visit! Cheers

We hired the cricket oval for our annual company cricket match. Ange from the Cafe organised everything for us and organised for a special pavilion for just our group. We had a bar tab running and had snacks throughout the day with wraps and sandwiches for lunch. Food was fantastic and just what we need and the staff were very attentive. They even had some craft beer in for us. Perfect spot for a company outing with heaps of parking, toilets and great space for casual cricket. Ange even managed to source an independent umpire for us.

I was blown away by the setting, the friendly staff and delicious food. Personally I had their Super salad. They have a small menu, which thankfully also caters for the little ones. The service on the coffee side was a bit slow, but all round an awesomely peaceful Cafe - inside and out. Highly recommended for family outing as it has a kiddies house, a maze, grass chess and more. Awesomeness!

Lovely venue for lunch. The tables look out over a cricket oval, which is part of a larger garden and homestead. The food was nice, plenty of steak in the steak sandwich. The coffee and carrot cake were also good. It was a very hot and busy day and the staff were run off their feet, but still nice with it. Old-school carts for the kids were an added bonus.

Great little place. Warned on arrival they may take an hour with food today. Could not supply our dog drink so supplied cheaper option without refund and my toasty was missing one of the fillings requested. We did not advise them so they did not have opportunity to fix. Will still give them another go as you can see we have rated them an overall 4 stars still.

Great place for a walk among the tree. Wonderful grounds and historic building. Cafe good. Coffee is top shelf. Only a few K's from Gordonton off Whitikahu rd.

Had a great experience here today celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday party. We booked a group of 35 (30 arrived on the day) The food was all amazing and so delicious, the staff were all amazing and so accommodating, so friendly and kind!! The kids at our party had a great time playing outside. No issues. Great day. Thanks heaps.

Prime location if you're looking for a cosy atmosphere in a lovely cottage and a park like environment. Weekends are commonly very busy so coming for lunch on a week day is a great choice. Food and drinks are great, service always friendly and helpful. A great place to take your family with plenty of space for kids to roam around safely.
