When all the locals meet up at a place for lunch, you know it's a good restaurant! To be honest, we chose it because if the name haha! Excellent service and good food! We had the sharing plate, open steak sandwich, blue cod, and the wee one had chicken nuggets.

We popped in here for a Friday dinner and the place was packed. We were quickly shown to our table and our orders taken. The steak sandwich and lamb shank was just awesome. The food came promptly and the service was really good. Would recommend this place.

For those who are NOT vegetarians this is a good place to go for a meal. What started out as disaster for our booked in group that was obviously forgotten about, was quickly turned around by the delightful young staff, especially Lucy!! Thank you, you rock!!

Pretty good food for a small town pub in NZ. They have a variety of gluten free options and the lemon cake was very moist. They have a terrace out the back but unfortunately it just overlooks the road. The staff were friendly and helpful but did look a little rushed off there feet when we came to leave. I would go back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip.

The cafe is tidy, menu reads well. I couldn’t order oysters as there were none in stock but despite this they wouldn’t remove them from the menus. Other patrons ordered the same Oysters to which the waitress had to come back and let her patrons know there was no Oysters. If they cross the items off the menu which they do not have available, then this would save the constant embarrassment for the waitress.

A favourite of the family to visit we were not disappointed. The food is consistently good, service is friendly and usually quick. However this particular day we were in after a very large group arrived which meant long delays in food service and my husbands meal was left on the servery as it was prepared in advance of the others meals which meant it was nearly cold. Still overall a 5/6.

Great place for a meal with executed friendly southern hospitality. The meals were exceptional and their size was not for the fainthearted. Highly recommended this place if you are ever in Gore

We eat here all the time as we enjoy things about it. The only negative is toward the tomato and basil fettuccine. Would not recommend that. Highly recommend the Sharing Platter and a garlic and cheese pita bread.
