We 3 ladies had breakfast at Maggie’s this morning. Best lambs fry and bacon ever. And the service was to be envied. Top place. You guys are wonderful
Sitting here now in Maggie's kitchen having the best coffee in Greymouth....really good food and wonderful friendly staff....love it!
Must be the best cafe in Greymouth. Friendly staff, fabulous food, good prices. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended. The coffee is very well made and presented, I loved the chicken burger and went back and had the seafood chowder and think I died and went to heaven.
What a neat place! Love the good old fashioned hospitality and the 'down to Earth' atmosphere. The staff were awesome and the food was good. Highly recommend this place! Great job!
Visiting the South Island and Greymouth from Florida, USA, with my wife Linda, we were searching for something close to the hotel for coffee. We heard some nice music on the street and found it coming from Maggie's Kitchen, so we popped in for coffee. We liked the staff and the atmosphere and the coffee was great, so we came back for lunch. Owners Maggie and Alan joined us at an adjacent table and told us about their business and some local lore. It was not only fun and entertaining, but the fish and chips we had turned out to be the best we found on our whole trip. Outstanding service, great atmosphere and friendly people...our kind of place. Can't wait to visit again someday. Dennis & Linda Cathcart, Sarasota, Florida, USA
Maggies Kitchen has everything you want in a cafe. Great service, excellent food and superb coffee. If you want all those things plus good old fashioned banter then call in and say hi to Maggi and Alan. The only place to eat.

The staff and management at Maggies make this the most wonderful place on the Coast to eat and hang out.
Maggie and Alan make you feel like valued customers, they are always friendly and go out of their was to cater for all needs and special requirements. Great value for money, top quality food, which regularly changes to add variety to the menu. Not a coffee drinker but smells good. Why go any where else when Maggies have everything you could possibly want. Your lovely staff, Jeannie, Nancy and Leslie are a huge credit to your business in the smooth running, always such a great friendly atmosphere to walk into
This is a great place to eat if you like and love great home cooked food its fresh tasty and great value for money ,the fish and chips are amazing and the lambs fry and chips on toast a mouthwatering experience, the service is also very good and the coffee is good as well ,its well worth a visit because if you do you will be back
Highly Recommended. Great All Day Breakfast, served with smile 🙂.
We felt immense respectful ambience with positive vibes here compared to other cafes nearby (such as seven penny).
Keep up the good work team.
Stopped in for lunch and breakfast the next day. The service was fantastic.
My husband is a bit of a foodie and he said the Lambs Fry was delicious. I enjoyed my old school steak, mushrooms and eggs. I stacked them up how I like it and they were gone so quick.
They have a basket of toys and high chairs for the little ones. Our 1yo was distracted with 1 toy at a time once he had finished eating and we managed to enjoy a meal in peace for a change.
If you like tasty food cooked with love come here. Its hearty soul food and well worth the second visit
I'm a long-displaced American, and eating at Maggie’s reminded me of home in some of the best ways. I could believe for half an hour that I was an 8-year-old kid again, visiting my grandparents during summer vacation in Colorado, and eating at their favorite diner with all of their friends.
In other words: if you're looking for a relaxed, uncomplicated, unfussy diner experience that feels wonderfully nostalgic, Maggie’s is the place to go.
Wonderful couple running the store and the breakfast was a delight to have in the freezing morning! Go for their coffee, it's awesome brew and the breakfast selection is just way too extensive to choose from. However with the great smiles they would suggest a few dishes to the undecided guests. Go try it and you'll be glad and leaving satisfied :)
it has been 6 years since 2015 when I was there with my family on the year end vacation trip to NZ. We were there for our breakfast meals before driving to Christchurch. It was a wonderful and delicious breakfast meals and the quality and taste of the food has successfully captured our memory till these days, awesome. Hope that Maggie’s Kitchen is continue doing fine even during this pandemic season (2020-2021), cheers!.
Loved our meal!
Loved the old chap on the counter and the ladies providing service. The lamb fry with bacon was the star of the show, but we also loved the steak with fried eggs, mushrooms and onions, and the salad was super delicious and a must to make our meal perfect! We would definitely come back in the blink of an eye! Thank you guys for providing such warm and welcoming service! You rock
Asked if they had gluten free fish and chips they offered to grill fish instead.😊 Nothing too much trouble. Free barista coffee with a meal! Good value food friendly service
The portions are large and the food is AMAZING. This wasn't a planned visit but my husband and I were very happy to stumble upon this place. The staff were friendly, helpful and more then willing to give us tips about the area. If you get a chance its worth the visit to enjoy the simple space and friendly spaces.
Fantastic breakfast!! You could tell lots of love went into the food 🤤
The atmosphere was like a flashback to the 90s 👌
loved the salt and pepper squid and chips but they were a bit pricey at $17 (8 pieces squid)
