Review Raceway Carvery - Greymouth

So we've been away from home for over 10 days. Starting to miss an honest meal w vegetables. Recommended by the accom we were staying at and by reviews. Wow! Good honest food how it used to be at all the great bistros. We loved our large and small option for a roast pork meal and vegetables, baked potato. They have all the condiments which is a huge plus when eating roast dinners. Managed to also have the trifle and icecream, just because. No picture as ate too quick. Not noisy, the large bar area quiet, generous house wines. The guys serving are like machines led by an experienced chef. If you need a change from fried food and pies you won't be disappointed. What a great find! Now wish we had another night here.

This is the Union Hotel. They have a carvery off the main bar. The best food in town for the money. Wholesome, filling, delicious. Well priced, lovely staff. Friendly and helpful. Had a great experience

Rated 4*. The food is great (roast meats and a variety of roast vegetables), but the Carvery aims to provide hearty meals at an affordable price, not a "fine dining" experience, so I withheld a star just so I wouldn't mislead anyone into expecting the latter.

Was so craving for veges as you do while traveling. Chicken and veges 😋 just what I needed. Fantastic service Fantastic food.

It's not high end dining but a good place to take the kids. While it's a bit dated it's certainly it's comfortable
