Really enjoyed the fish and chips. Highly recommend the blue fin, if available. This place has a pretty large menu for such a small space. There is something for everyone. The portions are generous.
Maxine greeted us and was friendly and super helpful navigating us through the menu. The cook, possibly owner, was grumpy, but in a funny way.
Currently they are closed from 2-4pm. We arrived just before 2pm. There must have been more than a dozen folks that came by while we were eating hoping to grab a quick bite...leaving very disappointed.
Got fish and chips from here as recommended by the host where we were staying. Onion sausages were nice and batter free. I got the Elephant fish which was cooked well with very thin crunchy batter. Good portions. We got our meal and went for a walk along the Kowhai Trail which is close by which takes you through bush and beside the water.
Passing through heading back to chch. Found this homely shop. Beautiful customer service. Fast at making food. Amazing tasty kai. I definitely reccomend. Will be stopping in again when we pass by next time
Great fish and chips from this down-to-earth chippie! Came all wrapped in newspapers just like the old days! Bring cash if you are not from NZ as the EFTPOS terminal will not accept foreign cards.
We had the most delicious takeaways from here recently! My wife had the bacon egg muffin and our daughters and myself all had beautiful burgers, with juicy meat patties, beetroot and all the works. To top it off we finished with deep fried moro bars which were amazing! We all left very satisfied and will definitely return for more.
Big portion of chips. But chips a let down. Fish also ok. Onion sausage was best thing. Good value though. All up only $40.
Probably the second best place in town. Wished we’d gone to other place.
Great. Everything was cooked to perfection and drained well. Chips weren’t homemade but they tasted really good anyway, and the portions were really big

Omg I was totally unprepared for how good these fish and chips were going to be 🤤🤤 ... love, love, love ❤️ 😍 My husband & I are more than happy to drive the 55mins it takes to get there and past all the other f&c shops, just to eat from here again. And the staff are a hoot! Highly recommend you make the effort to visit 👏🏻 ... absolutely delicious ladies. Thank you very much 😊
