The place was warm and was a much welcome refuge from an unexpectedly torrential rain in greymouth (it felt like the world was ending with that kind of rainfall) - we had hot chocolate and it came with two lovely marshmallows that added to the flavor of the hot cocoa. 🤗 the burger was good but I think the outstanding item was the baked Brie. All in all, a very decent place for dinner!!
Sevenpenny is a great spot for breakfast, the menu has a great range of hot and cold foot, as well as great cabinet offerings. We enjoyed the smashed avoid and feta and the corn fritters which were both delicious. I'd definitely recommend it as a top spot for breakfast. Coffee was really good and it wasn't overly busy so it was nice and quiet with a relaxing atmosphere.

The Breaky was fantastic, they been running the cafe/restaurant for four years, but it looks like it’s just been renovated. Simply a lovely place to enjoy.

Stopped for lunch to break up a 6hour drive. Each of our orders (both salads and the sandwich of the day and the loaded fries) would get 5 stars. Skip the poke bowl. Staff is friendly, the place is adorable and service is FAST! Seems like they take their coffee pretty seriously and the desserts and bar looked super tempting. Gluten free options were top notch!
Walking distance to the train station and a few hotels/hostels nearby. Really convenient and lovely vibe with indoor and outdoor seating, both kitchen and cabinet offerings. I had the chocolate frappe on an unusually hot afternoon and it really hit the spot! Came back for the veg frittata/quiche the next morning and just had a lovely time chilling in the cafe for a few hours. The staff are quick to serve and polite too (:
The staff are so welcoming at Sevenpenny, they're probably the main reason I'll keep going back. But it just so happens the coffee is great too! And while I didn't eat on my first visit, I was eyeing up the meals coming out and they looked very good. I promise I'll add more photos too!
Great food, service good, atmosphere good but a tad chilly for me, will dress warmer next time. Vegetarian breakfast really nice, first time having a "crumbed egg" and soft yolk!! Not an easy feat I imagine?! Best Barista on this morning yay!
Lucky to get in before kitchen closed on a busy Easter Monday for a late lunch. Surcharge worth it for good food and comfy warm environs. Excellent service.
Great spot with lovely outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly and offered great service. Coffee was excellent and the GF savoury loaf was a good option.
