Review The White Swan Restaurant - Greytown

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch at The White Swan. A group of old University friends met up from all over NZ and chose this as our first restaurant for the weekend. It was amazing - food was delicious, staff friendly and attentive with lots of great spaces to dine depending on the weather. Highly recommend. Thanks team for a memorable lunch. We will be back!!

Went out for dinner tonight in the captains restraunt area. Service was absolutely awesome, extremely attentive and polite. Food was served fast and was amazing, the whole table was impressed, the beef fillet might be some of the best beef I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend this place and will certainly be returning on trips back from Australia.

Had a meal here but stayed elsewhere. The food was really lovely and the staff were welcoming and very friendly. The only thing that wasnt so great, and not at all the fault of the staff, was the very foul mouthed group sitting relatively close to us. We left earlier than we would normally. But we didn't let some of their customers spoil our evening….would very much recommend the White Swan for a meal.

Was here with my wife for the dinner in the Captains lounge / restaurant- food was absolutely amazing, comparable with restaurants like Logan Brown, Charley Noble, The Shepherds or The Liberty in Wellington. Exceeded our expectations as rated only 4.1* which is weird to me. Really cool place and food just amazing.

I attended an 80th birthday lunch at the restaurant on Saturday 14 October. The staff member serving was Tanya. She did an exceptional job, managing the entire room with efficient service and a friendly manner. She was quick, unobtrusive, knowledgable and accommodating. Thank you Tanya, you were great. The meal was extremely good too.

We popped over the Rimutuka hill to stay at the White Swan on an Overnight Package Deal to celebrate my birthday . Absolutely awesome. Stayed in the Pinot Noir room and staff were very friendly on arrival. Evening set meal in the Captain’s Restaurant was great with very attentative service and faultless food. Breakfast was the same and in fact we enjoyed ourselves so much we plan to return for my husbands birthday for a repeat performance and stay in one of the other rooms.

We had dinner here last night during the mid year Christmas celebrations. Sat outside on the deck so were part of the midwinter atmosphere. Staff were extremely busy and very friendly and helpful. We were there early so had to wait until 5 pm to order from the dinner menu - chose fettuccini. Unfortunately the dish did not live up to standard. The fettuccini was very 'gluggy', all stuck together. The taste was nice but I was unable to eat it all. I would try this restaurant again though.

A gorgeous hotel in the centre of Greytown. We were here for a one-night business trip and had an amazing stay. Jamie at reception upgraded us on arrival and they even delivered my dinner to my room (which was delicious). Would totally recommend!

We were very Happy to go to the Captains restaurant to celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary.The atmosphere was great.the service was exceptional, and the food Delishes. Thank you for making a special memory...

Best service we have had in a long time. We brought our six month old baby in, the staff were fantastic making sure our child was comfortable and getting attention. Our food was brought out very quickly to accommodate us. Very good food, would encourage you to try this place!

Beautiful place for food and drinks. Unfortunately while getting our drink on arrival, we got served by a young English man who was in such a hurry, not interactive at all and our change was thrown on the bar and onto the floor, as he walked away to serve others!!!

Dinner with my dad. Great vegetarian main and more than one option and they change the menu every month. Fab. Absolutely gorgeous desserts. My dad's veggies with his steak were overcooked but didn't stop him eating them. Also loved the local TV ads and local wine selection. Nice log fire. Fine portrait of Edward VII but rest of decor a bit repro plastic

My wife and I spent an enjoyable weekend here. This is an old but well maintained country hotel in the centre of the town. Efficient and friendly service.

Brilliant food, and service. Smaller menu but was absolutely delicious on all parts. Will definitely be back.

Such a beautiful atmosphere and even more beautiful are the staff. I was well looked after will stay again and again and again.
