Review Madam Woo - Hamilton

Nice decor and feel at Madam Woo. We had green tea, Roti with duck was delicious. Dumpling prawns were also excellent and freshly made. The veggie laksa was good, but could have included more vegetables. Great apple roti dessert 😀

The food was so good we forgot to take pictures! The drinks were also amazing. Everything seemed well priced for the area. The atmosphere was really cool and very beautiful. I really wish I didn’t live across the globe from this place! They staff was really friendly and happy to help out some tourists with parking confusion.

Lovely flavours and well refined dishes. Staff are very attentive and all meals are served beautifully presented. The flavours are just adequate, and not overwhelming. There are lots of options to choose from, to fit everyone's needs.

We had our team function here with 18 people. The food was incredibly delicious and generous quantities. We couldn’t finish it so took home the left overs. And the service was exceptional.

Love the place to eat and relax. Good ambience ang great tasting food. I like the fried chicken for the starter, crispy and tasty. They also have a variety of cocktail drinks.

Food was really yummy and the service was great we had a lovely blonde lady with a nose ring serving our table last night a nd she was wonderful very good at her job

Excellent service and Rreally easy going dining experience. We arrived in a bit of a hurry and staff were very accommodating and quick in their service. They gave our kids free ice cream and even did it dairy free for one of our boys.

The food is delicious! Highly recommend the beef rendang and the hawer roll roti 👌 The place is really stylish and chilled out for lunch. NOTE: They have outdoor seating on a balcony, under umbrellas.

We got the duck hawker roll and char kway teow. I was warned the char kway teow was spicy but as someone who can handle a medium spice (I don't seek out hot sauce and I avoid hot pepper seeds, but don't mind a hot flavor in my meals) it was really good!

Came here for dinner for two of us, had some share plates, beef rendang, chicken slaw, roti, rice, duck gawker role and wontons. Beautiful food, amazing flavours, all very fresh, nice sharing plates. Great out on the balcony and great view across the river. Definitely recommend.

Pulled sticky pork and chicken hawker rolls were amazing! The stir fried pork belly was also good too.

Well what can I say. Surrounds are brilliant and the staff are extremly attentive and helpfull. Cocktails were devine and the food exceptional This place is really worth a try. From the Pulled Pork Hawker Rolls, to the Beef Rendang. The flavor combinations are exceptional. Very Balanced with an exciting aftertaste which leaves you craving more. Dont Snooze or youll loose. Check this place out. Truly a slice of Malaysia in the Waikato.

Called so many times, but no one answers except the voicemail, even when we leave a message no one gets back to us, so we automatically think it’s busy as! But we went there anyways, just to find that they only had 3 tables busy taken in the entire restaurant, this was abit annoying..coz we can’t get hold of Hamilton branch. A star waitress (according to manager Tina)received us, gave us a table that was in direct sunlight, we requested for a change, as the restaurant wasn’t even busy, she was annoyed with us, and didn’t want to accommodate us. Her body language, as if we asked for something ridiculous. Madam is going down due to their staff, invest in your staff, please do not make us feel unwanted, especially when it’s a family of 7. I would not recommend this place, coz I don’t want another customer treated like we were treated. Not many vegetarian options too, they cannot make vegetarian fried rice without eggs, how hard is it? Very disappointed.

Not only is the food incredible, but the staff are always friendly, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous. I've eaten here a number of times, and even though I'm a super-sensitive coeliac, I have never gotten ill.

Madam Woo’s is great for any occasion, dinner with friends or date night. The cocktails are amazing and the Hawker Rolls are delicious! Highly recommend and would definitely dine here again.

Food is good, portion size is generous. Location is amazing. A smile on the waitress face would have made the experience better. I had an amazing experience in MadamWoo Takapuna, can't say it for this one. It is purely because of the attitude of the waitress.

Birthday lunch. Ordered the madam woo feast with a extra hawker roll on the side. I now need to sleep. Fried chicken comes with a decent satay. Highlights are the squid dish and the Char Kway Teow. The pineapple salad was also very very good and helped cut through the more salty dishes

I went with my friends and husband yesterday. Food is okay.mushroom spring rolls were nice. Ambience is good. Being a vegetarian did not taste non veg dishes. But the restaurant has good options with vegetarian dishes. The service was okay. At a point we were pissed off. The guy who was serving us was time and again asking about the review on food even if we have taken first bite. Also when we had just finished the dinner he came from nowhere and started collecting the dishes felt that he was in hurry to say good bye to us though the restaurant wasn’t that full. The price actually is but more for the dishes they served. Hope they train their front of house team with some manners. After all no one wants to sit at one place for hours n hours. Recommended as one time visit if y want to spend heaps for okay food.

First time at any Madam Woo, it was busy! We ordered a few dishes to share but the one that stood out was the honey and soy squid. Tasty, sticky and salty! Will definitely try another branch.

Ordered a chicken curry through UberEATS for $26 and this is all we got? Not even worth it! Never again! So ripped off. Five pieces of chicken for $26?

Super good ! Love the food. The rotti was my favourite thing. But everything was delicious and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. And the dripping coffee was pretty cool!

I have only been once so far, but I absolutely loved the food. I seriously recommend the ribs, the soft-shelled crab and the hawker rolls. Very good!

Even though I went while it was really busy, staff were still attentive and food was brought out quickly. The food itself was delicious and the variety was good.

Overly rated, service is poor. Cost doesn’t compensate the quality of food. Rude and unprofessional waitress. Dumpling is ewwwww and got sick after dining at this place. A no no, not recommended.

Great service and friendly staff accompanied by good food is always key. Nice easy location in central Hamilton this place packs our fast.<br/><br/>The winner is always the hawker rolls at this restaurant! We had both the pork and chicken and wouldn't dare miss them.<br/><br/>The laksa was not spicy-which is my preference but good for those who like it mills. The noodles and soft shell crab were also a hit though not my favourite.<br/><br/>The special dessert of roti donut is a Must! Save room for this one! <br/>

Beautifully decorated restaurant. We were greeted by a very cheerful staff member who was great with the kids and very attentive to us. We had prawn and coriander dumplings, hoisin sticky pork ribs, roti canai with peanut satay sauce and lamb madras.<br/><br/>The dumplings were beautifully steamed and flavoursome. The pork ribs were absolutely delicious! Great flavour and a decent amount of meat. The roti canai was buttery and perfectly crispy and flaky like the texture of a croissant but thinner. So delicious with the side of satay sauce.<br/><br/>The madras tasted great but probably had more potato than it did lamb.

One of my favourites in Hamilton. The hardest part is choosing, we always overorder and end up with a doggy bag to take home. Clean fresh tastes and great variety. The whole vibe of the place is a step up from most options at the Southend. Peeps of the river if it's fine enough to sit outside too! Friendly service and food to the table quickly. Highly recommended.

BRILLIANT. I absolutely LOVED this place.... 1. The malaysian street food was fresh + tasty: I had the Malaysian Spiced Chicken, Steamed White Pak Choy, then Salted Coconut + Mango Icecream. 2. The Drinks selection was top-notch, and they had good alcohol-free options. 3. The decor + atmosphere was gorgeous... Beautiful wooden floors, high ceilings, huge palmtrees in pots, great background music... the decor reminded me of many restaurants in Paris.  4. Finally, the Staff were lovely. They were courteous, friendly + genuinely helpful with choices. They even had printed on the bill the notes for special dietary requirements (eg GF) so the chefs didn't make an error. I would definitely go again, it's sure to be one of my favourites.
