The Jukebox Diner catered for our training programme upstairs in the conference room for 3 weeks. Aroha the cafe manager was very responsive to our needs and delivered great food on time that suited all dietary requirements.

Great kids play area and even better BIG boys area with classic cars! We'll worth the visit, with good food too. Yummy milkshakes and goooood hot chips too. True to an American theme of jukebox, totally recommended. Loads of parking too. Xx

The food is great, it's got a good play area and my kids are always thrilled to be here. My youngest really likes their kids milk that comes in a bottle. The milkshakes are all really yummy. I like the cherry cola ice cream soda too. Brunch wise the meals are decently priced and filling. The decor is super fun and really leans into the diner look. It’s had a bit of a refresh recently too with a big photo mural.

Really good place to dine for car enthusiasts or just to be taken back in time while you enjoy your meals. Food is good and has a kid menu and also little areas for the childern to play. The car musem itself is amazing and the staff were also very kind.

'Tis a nice American themed diner and an old cars museum in one. They serve burgers and curly fries, milkshakes and coffee. You'll be greeted by door with the statue of the King of Rock n Roll himself, Elvis. While eating chips, tomato sauce (if you want some) will be with the lady in waiting none other than Betty Boop. There is a restroom and a play area for little humans. The car museum also has a display of old petrol pumps, motorbikes, and other blast from the past. Come have a look.😊

We had a rather large group dine at the Jukebox Diner a couple of weeks ago. The deco was darling. They had prepared our table for us. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely go back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We had a tasty late lunch. We liked that there's a smaller meal option. Eggs on gf toast which was good, as gf bread often is a disappointment. My husband had creamy mushrooms which he thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a half serve of crinkly fries which were great as not all greasy. They could've been a little hotter. Coffee was excellent which was a treat. Lovely staff, friendly service.

Late arriving (5 of us) and a sign said kitchen closed. Explained we traveled down from Auckland. How amazing they took our order for meals and drinks which I really appreciated as all tired and hungry. Large milkshakes first, creamy with loads of flavor. Then our burgers, good size, extremely tasty and all meals arrived hot. Venue is quirky cool, plenty of tables (or a booth if you want the old 'happy days' experience) and room to move around. Incredibly clean and also has lovely selection of cabinet food including yummy sweets, or icecreams for the kids. Loads of parking.

Very cool rock n roll American diner vibe. Not too busy so didn't need to book on a Sunday but nearing Christmas so everyone at the shops probably

Cool diner vibe. Lots for the kids to look at and play on inside, great for a rainy day to entertain the kids. Food and coffee was pleasant, maybe a smidgen pricey. The team working were friendly and lovely.

Arrived a girl at the counter didn't acknowledge at all.Helped myself to 3 menus Had a few goes and finally got the wi fi password. My two people arrived and we ordered 3 meals and drinks Total cost $103.00. The coffee arrived it was cold. Was given a warmer one. All the meals were nice. But the place was freezing. All the doors were open. Might try Lola's next time.

A good authentic restaurant (or dining). Even if you do not visit the museum, definitely worth it. Very good food and even very good breakfast. If you will be sure to have a table, you can camp overnight at their car park ;-) Self-containing campers are allowed to stay overnight there. We have visited this restaurant several times.

The food was tasty and the service was great! A really fun place to eat. Felt like a 50's diner.

Went here yesterday with a decent sized group. Place was also pretty busy at the time. Thought there might be a long wait for the food but it all came out at such a great pace. And its was so yummy ! I had the chicken burger, partner had a toasted sandwich with extras and kids also had a toastie. There was so much cheese ! It was great. We also got caramel banana shakes and they were delicious aswel (abit small for price, they didn't come in the tall retro glasses like I thought but those small jar type glasses, drink wasnt fill to the top either it was under the neck and rest was filled up with cream which was abit off a rip). Was also happy to see a kids area, which was also grea. Would deffinitly visit again though the food was great!

Extremely grateful for finding this hidden treasure. The Jukebox diner has lovely and welcoming staff as well as delicious food. My grandmother and I spotted this hidden gem whilst on the way to Auckland from Cambridge, grateful, as we were about to be stuck in Huntly with a takeaway. What a delightful surprise we got once we entered the decorated Diner. The 1950's atmosphere engulphed us instantly and it was if we took a trip back in time. Food was like nothing we ever imagined as it tasted heavenly, was big and filling but at the same time well priced. Could not recommend this restaurant enough. Constantly thanking the staff and those who work hard to present such an amazing place. I will definitely be coming again soon.

Classic Diner is great place to dine in. The retro vibe makes the dining experience quite different. Foodwise - good variety. Some taste of American cuisine and the ice cream sodas (amazing). Overall, it was an amazing experience and would definitely comeback again for more.

A nice little American-retro themed diner next to Classic Museum. The place is child-friendly with good play area. We tried The Juke, Creamed Mushrooms, curly fries and chocolate, strawberry and banana caramel milkshakes. The Juke - poached eggs, kransky, tater tots and bacon were cooked perfectly. The curly fries was good too. Although a little disappointed with the creamed mushrooms and milkshakes as it just had an average taste. The service was fast and the staff was friendly.

Disappointed with this place, the staff used to be friendly and the meals used to be nicer. Asked whether the pork burger was pulled pork or a piece of pork and got a snarky attitude back from the manager. I Wouldnt go back especially with plenty of other options in the area.

This place was fantastic. Loved the Black Angus burger (made with a black bun)
Staff super friendly.
The new manager/Owner has really changed the diner for the better.

Came here and the style is really awesome, unfortunately I had terrible service and the food wasn't amazing for the price we payed.. won't be back

This place is decorated like a classic American family diner. I did like the happy, quirky, and vibrant vibe of this place; and the easy-listening music that it plays.

There was not a huge selection in the cabinet and on the menu, just pretty standard cafe items. We ordered a croissant sandwich and a breakfast muffin. It was arranged that despite ordering straight from the cabinet, they took awhile to arrive :( When the food did come, both tasted nice. I was pleasantly surprised that they were presented nicely, with a side salad.

We also ordered a pineapple smoothie. While it was creamy, with a nice sourness to it, the cup was a bit small to be worth $8.

All in all, the taste of the food was not special enough to be worth traveling for, but definitely not a bad place to eat if you happen to be in the area.

I have been here several times and service always takes ages. Each time we have been the food seems to be slipping.

Last time I visited we ordered the Big Elvis breakfast (which has always been a favourite) with scrambled eggs. This arrived with fried eggs so sent it back for the watery scrambled eggs we got. The mushrooms in the past were always in a seperate side dish but today they were on the plate which made soggy juices on the bread. The pancakes/hotcakes were ok but again in the past the sauces were in little jugs this time it was all over the food. I hate coli on bacon. Yuck! The american hot dog and curly fries were just fine. Asked for double mustard barley got any. The drinks (chocolate shake and jaffa thick shake) had hardly any flavour.

Service, as always, took ages and it was a quiet day only 2 other tables with customers. When I ordered they did not ask if we wanted water or bring water. Our table had no cutlery and were not given any. When I asked for the eggs to be changed she was like are you sure....had an attitude like we were in the wrong.

The diner always looks great. Love the diner feel. But this visit was hard to even give a 2/5.

I have been here once for the drive in movie night. I got the burger and it was pretty yum! Would love to come back here for breakfast as the menu looks so good!

Lovely diner, good food. Milkshakes could use an improvement for one. Staff were friendly, and we enjoyed the theme of course. Fallout series fans will enjoy the atmosphere.

Unique diner in Hamilton. We went for the novelty and I think that's the only reason to go. Ordered waffles and curly fries to share. Other half had the american hotdog. Food was ok, nothing worth traveling for unless you are starving. Staff were good, advised us there would be a wait on orders but our meals arrived in half that time. Pleasant surprise. Tasty milkshakes. Menu not huge, mostly breakfast items, and burgers, with a couple hotdog options and standard desserts.

We recently discovered a lovely little retro American diner in Dinsdale next to the car museum – rather aptly named the Jukebox Diner. It’s gorgeously kitted-out with vintage decor, waitresses in diner uniform, and a jukebox belting out oldies. The ambience was superb, the service excellent, and while the food was rather average, it’s such a fresh breath of air from the standard establishments found in Hamilton that we’re inclined to overlook that. The boy wasn’t too fond of his classic burger (which seemed a bit too overloaded with veggies to be a truly American burger), but I thought my chili dog with beef chili, melted cheese and sour cream was pretty good, and I’d definitely want to come back for the waffles and banana split.

I took my father and his partner to the Jukebox Dinner mid week just before 12 pm. The setting is classic 50s and the jukebox was playing the appropriate tunes. We had two chocolate and one vanilla thickshake (they were excellent but could have been thicker) with cream mushrooms and toast (excellent), bacon filled pancakes with maple syrup (good), chilli dog (average) and curly fries (nothing to write home about). The service was slow. We will be back to try the hamburgers. T

On first impression, the restaurant looked really cool!
Unfortunately that is all the positive feedback that i can give.

We waited over an hour for food, which eventually came out cold and inedible - and i cannot begin to describe how poorly it was made - so i won't even start.
2 of us became ill within hours after eating there, we won't be going back.

On leaving - it was interesting to note 3 chefs sitting out the back of the kitchen smoking. Great look guys!

I had to try my first Chili Dog, while my wife had Chili Cheese Fries. I choose the Lime Milkshake and my wife had Hot Cherry Chocolate with cream and mini chunks of chocolate to wash our meals down.

An enjoyed lunch, a few more options to try next time.

With the waitress's dressed also in the 50's style it added to the experience.

Costly, but that is because it is quality. Big kids play area and kid friendly menu. Highly recommend. Delicious food. I love the Icecream Sodas. Clean.

Visited here a few months back had a grab one voucher.... Waited over 2 hours for 2 burgers and chips was offered 2 free coffee vouchers at the end. Would never return the staff unfortunately we're not experienced enough to update us and keep us informed. We were not the only ones with a really long wait either. The food was ok when it arrived but the service was shocking.

LOVE this place

Took my grand kids for afternoon tea last Thursday. Good style for something different and great to see staff that enjoy their job. Good service despite us turning up 30 min before closing. Kids got a milkshake.. served in real milkshake glasses which they enjoyed with a good Ole chocolate lamington. My coffee was a good strength an had good texture. The menu has a good variety and nice to see some good traditional fare. The prices seem reasonable enough and for a themed dinner I think it is worth a visit.

Had the eggs benedict and waffles for breakfast. Love the food here! Waffles were slightly cold but the food exceeded our expectations of the place. Would definitely return.

Waited 30 mins for sausage roll only to find it was extremely cold in places. The coffee and hot chocolate I ordered at the same time arrived 30 minutes later. Yep I know there was an event on but still... service and quality of food not good.

First walk in impression was that this diner looked exciting. Great giant pastel paintings of the golden days on the wall, dinner stools and bench seats around the side. Very high and spacious room that made you feel open and free.
Then you get to the order counter where there was no menu board. So we had to stand in a line holding the menu card and try to read it and decide. Natural instinct is to not get in line until you know what you want to order so everyone just ends up standing in a big clump in the way of others who have finally decided what they want. The breakfast menu had some good selections on it and offered standard prices. Bagels, waffels, pancakes, big breakfast. The standard setting. I was there for lunch so thought I would try the lunch menu. This comes down to 4 choices, a burger (beef, chicken, vege, fish), american hotdog, corn fritter stack, or an open steak sandwich. An additional $4 will give you a side. So menu choices is short and sweet.

Our group ordered from the lunch choices, beef burger, chillie dog, fish burger, and corn fritter stack .

When the corn fritters came out they looked good. Probably the best choice on the menu. 3 8cm fritters with a good amount of bacon in between, served with a side of salad and fresh dressing. Topped with a dollop of sour cream.

That's about where the excitement ended. The chillie dog was not what I would call it, a hot dog with extra cheese and sweet chillie sauce would be more like it. I love chillie dogs and they should have either chillie beans, jalepenos, chillie mince, or something that resembles chillie. Not sweet chillie sauce on a hot dog for $11. (hotdog is $9).

Burgers.. the star of a menu. What the guys order when they want a good meal. Going beef burger first, this looked great. Nice large juicy home-made beef pattie with cheese, salad and relish. Even a beetroot to make it kiwiana. side of fries (+$4). Presentation was good, execution not so. The bun needed toasting, the salad was too chunky with thick tomato, thick red onion rings and lots of lettuce. The bun instantly went soggy and the burger fell apart after the first 2 bites.
Fish burger. I can only think they must have had to catch the fish first as I cant remember when it took 20mins to batter and deep fry a piece of fish and place it in between some buns with some salad. Alas the same outcome as the beef burger but with a combination of small pieces of fish (these were very fresh and well cooked) that fell apart even before the first bite. Only advise, toast the buns! Also not too sure what the squiggle of balsamic jus on the side of the plate was for.. the fries? or for the now imploded burger that resembles a collapsed salad on the plate, they may have thought ahead for us.

To be honest once my burger dismantled itself and I was forced to eat my fish and bun salad with a fork, my mood dropped and I couldn't help but start looking around restaurant. My optimistic view was shattered. Large pile of stacked chairs in the corner blocking the view of the beautiful garden, two cd players stored under the pile with wires hanging out. I can see the attraction reason behind the kids area painted with a large mural of Disneys "cars" characters, which I'm guessing was to connect the diner with Route 66. But then where was the rest. Was this rock and roll diner or high way diner with the sell offs of burger kings old decor? Including the BK Jukebox playing on the lowest setting.

I'm an optimist, I like to give the benefit of the doubt and think that my experience came down to my poor menu decision. So next time if I want the authentic diner experience, maybe try the waffels and a long black (no filter coffee available). But please staff, have a smile and come ask how our food is. Just because its a Tuesday lunch doesn't mean leave your guests on their own. I'd say that if you weren't wanting to order off the menu, the cafe style section for a slice or muffin and a flat white looks good. But again, are you a rock and roll/highway diner or is that just the decor as you offer food you can get everywhere else. If you are a diner, then own it and make it a great experience that you can't find anywhere else.
