This place is a fantastic place to get an authentic Japanese cuisine, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is good and feels a lot like a Japanese Izakaya. We really enjoyed the experience here the mix tempura and takoyaki was really nice. I would say the only downfall of this restaurant was the Japanese curry for the following reasons: The Katsu chicken was quite dry and very thin and we believe that the curry could’ve been made better at home. I wouldn’t let this stop you from enjoying this restaurant though I do believe that the menu could be improved by adding simple Japanese options like a Katsudon or gyudon which are dishes we really enjoyed while being in Japan as well offering more options for Katsu with rice and cabbage.

Have come here on 2 occasions. Had the bento box with sweet beef, teriyaki chicken and the pork ramen. The people I was with had 2 different bento boxes and they enjoyed their food too. The karage chicken is top notch

We are here again for lunch as we had such a spectacular lunch yesterday. Our two grandsons are down from Auckland and they are sushi connoisseurs and they think this is better than any Japanese restaurant in Auckland. The boys also loved watching their food being made by the very friendly and talented chef. Highly recommended.

Best Japanese restaurant in Hamilton!!! Very friendly staff with exceptional customer service. If you are a fan of Japanese food, you must come to Nami :-) Pictures tells it all ! I will definitely come again! A+++

Customer service - Good Food - average Location - easy to find in hamilton central Parking - n/a Food price - a bit pricey Ambience - good Child friendly - they posted on their google about/overview that they are child friendly with a baby stroller sticker BUT they don't have high chairs, no food menu for kids either. Family- yes but not kid/child friendly

This was the best sushi I've ever had!. The staff was lovely and I had a great time. Service was fast. The food was cheap for something of this quality. The fish tasted very fresh, not frozen and I'm coming back next week for more!

First visit in this Japanese restaurant in the lunch time. We arrived early and few customers were already inside. This is one of the few authentic Japanese cuisine restaurants in town. As you enter, it seems like you are in Japan, great decorations, long bar featuring traditional customs. Food came quickly, we ordered some chicken karage for our chidren, my wife ordered salmon with salad and me lamen. All tasted fantastically nice, soft rice and well seasoned. Owners are Japanese, that explains much of the quality and precision. Looking for another good experience in the future.

Staffs are nice and easy to access. Only minor problem is that parking is hassle since it's in city center. However the food is amazing. I quite enjoy all their food. Gyoja(kind of dumplings) was delicious and bento is worth it to pay. I didn't really like their miso because of personal taste but not bad. I would love to come this place again definitely.

Cane here for a late lunch. Ordered the seaweed salad (standard dish), spicy pork (very good), teriyaki chicken (very good again) and the salmon & avocado salad (nice dish). All dishes came out quickly. Portions were small but reasonably priced.

The place looked really nice and the atmosphere was good. The food was tasty but very small portions for the price we paid. Especially the ramen I expected it to be in a big bowl with more veges /egg etc.

We came at 2pm, absolutely loved everything we ordered. Sushi was great, sashimis were fresh, udon was amazing. Would definitely come back again, staff were very friendly and polite.

We went to NAMI last night , they were not busy， just a few table,the order take so long ，we just order one sushi roll and sashimi platter and takoyaki and two drinks . The drinks order is very quick ,30mins gone we finished the drinks , the food still not on the table ，when the food came taste were good the portions too small , the sasimi platter we ordered 18pcs ,when it came out its two small prawns cut into four pcs .so disappointed

Awesome place to stop off for a quick and cheap lunch. Nami has some awesome lunch deals - you can choose from 2 or 3 dishes ( Teryiaki Chicken / Salmon / Karaage and many others to choose from) in a lunch set, 2 dishes with rice and miso for $15.00 or 3 dishes with rice and miso for $20.00 We would have normally spent $70 at any other Japanese restaurant for the amount of food we got using these deals. The food was fresh and the staff were friendly. We will be going back again for sure!

We went here for the first time last night & loved it! The staff were welcoming, the interior was super cute, & the menu was HUGE. We had miso soup, edamame, karaage chicken, tonkatsu, vegetable tempura & salmon sashimi (we have big appetites). It was all fresh, piping hot and delicious! The karaage and tonkatsu were major faves- we can't wait to come back!

Had dinner here the other night. Ordered the spicy pork bento and my friends had the curry and udon noodles. Good service and fresh food. The bento is worth the money spent with all the little side dishes that come with it.

I have eaten at Nami a couple of times, and both times been really impressed with the food and the service. It's quite a small place, and it feels like the staff are giving you all their attention. I can't remember the exact dishes that we ate, but both times I have been with a group, and everyone has enjoyed their meals. Would definitely recommend it!

My partner and I had dinner there for the first time last night, although we had arrived an hour late of the booking time the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We both ordered a set meal each which consisted of about 7 different dishes, the food was fresh, tasted great, and was beautifully presented. The staff were very attentive and the dishes came and went in a timely manner. The experience we had was faultless, I would happily recommend Nami to any one looking for a good meal at a Japanese restaurant.

My most favourite restaurant in Hamilton, always get great service and a wonderful meal and a very reasonable price :-) Their lunch menu is also great value for money, a great place to meet up with family and friends for lunch or dinner. My favourite is the teriyaki chicken very filling.

I have been to this restaurant a few times now for lunch. Have enjoyed all of the meals I have had. Like the options and being able to choose a couple (or a few) different dishes, also with rice, miso & salad. Service is also great - friendly and not a long wait for your meals.

Nami is our favorite restaurant. The service is friendly, and the staff are very helpful. If you are not sure about the menu, ask for The manager eugine . He is very helpful and will guide you through the menu. The food is fresh and nicely presented. The set menu is very good value and the food just keeps on coming. The seafood set menu with the sashimi, crab tempura and seafood main meal is very nice. You must try nami.

Having not tried Nami before, and not really heard much about it I didn't know what to expect. We were greeted with a welcoming smile, and the friendly service continued through the evening. The meals were tasty, and surprisingly filling too - no room for dessert! Overall we had a great night out, and good value for money, delicious food.
