Tasty food, prepared quickly. Friendly staff and nice clean restaurant. Easy access and plenty of parking options around. The food is especially good if you like flavour and spice. Dry pots are my favorite, coming to the table sizzling in a steel bowl with (safe!) flaming ball of gel beneath it to keep it hot. Top quality.

Dined tonight with a reasonably large group (14) for a combined birthday celebration. Overall a very pleasant experience and a great evening out. The food was delicious and well prepared, with a good selection of dishes and well matched flavours within each dish.
While the service was friendly and efficient on the whole, it was just one waitress which wasn't really sufficient for such a sized party. In particular it took over 10 minutes (closer to 15) for all the mains to be delivered to the table, which was pretty poor, and the final dish was several minutes wait after all the other dishes had been served. A couple of bus-boys or serving assistants wouldn't go amiss (or even just the other wait staff lending a hand!).

My original review I left was one star and I made a complaint and left a bad review... credit to the owner he had replied to my comment within a few hours and was happy to rectify my disappointment... the following day I received 3 dishes and the 3 I received didn't disappointment... the dumplings were yummm and the fried noodles were excellent my kids absolutely loved the chicken noodle soup we also got.... thank you to the staff and owner for sorting this out!!

Got the garlic veges. Very nice flavor and selection of veges. Only gripe would be maybe a touch too much cabbage but I am not a fan of cabbage.

A huge variety of flavors and foods to choose from. My family and I ate here a lot since it opens until late at night (which I appreciate). The food is very filling, and the prices are good for your money. Overall, highly recommend :)

I have eaten here a couple of times a year for the last 5 years and never been disappointed. Did a degustation dinner once and that was marvellous. The servings are not large, but delicate and well presented, and quite imaginative (especially for Hamilton). Try to avoid busy times when the service is stretched, but never poor. They now do a quick lunch meant for working people which is cheap, fast, and not as exciting than their a la carte, but better value.

Amazing and authentic Chinese food! I was a frequent customer there when I was in Hamilton, and I would highly recommend this place to every Hamilton residents and travellers. Their food is far beyond your expecation, and worth much more than its price! If your are a foodie as well as a whopper, try this place! Such a budget-friendly restaurant with yum yum dishes!!!

I've been going to Cullen's Restaurant & Bar for the last ten years, it's a place where I know I will always get the best quality food, wine, service and atmosphere - whether I'm going with friends for a few drinks and lunch, or dinner with the family. Cullen's is one of those hidden gems that all the locals know about. It's one of Hamilton's longest standing restaurants and its reputation exceeds itself. Seared tuna and tempura veg is an absolute favourite of mine. The wine list is very comprehensive and availability by the glass is extensive as well. Their staff are very professional and knowledgeable on the wines and menu. I can easily say this is one of my favourite restaurants in New Zealand.

I love half cook veggies with steamboat cooking it yourself I love it we always order two different types of meat three different types of veggies fried rice a plate of noodles all but the rice we cook ourselves an we prefer water with our meals try it you guys will love it

Great food. As a friend told me, you can judge a restaurant like this by how much care they put into cooking eggplant, which can be a difficult dish to get right. This place nailed it.
Can get plates to share, or even go for the full hotpot experience.

Used to be my favorite restaurant, used to eat there at least once a week. It's gotten worse and worse over the last year. The meat (especially beef ribs) had too much soda that made it too soft but the cut was still chewy at the same time, black pepper sauce substituted for black bean sauce, pickled fish soup with no flavour, portion size got smaller too, doesn't really matter though coz you won't want to eat too much of it anyway. Already given it at least 4 or 5 more chances and definitely not going back again.
