Review Shinsen Sushi - Hamilton

Reliable spot for great sushi. Highly recommend the little takeaway hand rolls if you are on the go, or the bento box if you are dining in. We also love the teriyaki chicken bowls and the Kim chi. The owner is a really nice guy as well, he always remembers us and is very friendly. A bit overpriced, especially since they raised their prices, but it hasn’t stopped us from going.

Love this sushi restaurant. The food is always really fresh, they are constantly making fresh dishes to replenish the train and the store is very clean. Great prices too, much more reasonable than some other chain sushi restaurants. The staff are always lovely, kind and accommodating. My favourite dish has to be the Katsu curry and rice, but i also love the udon noodle broth! Absolutely delicious!

This place is bloody unreal. The quantity and quality for price is heaps good and they do some of the best fried chicken I've had in ages. Owner is always happy and has great service, this place should be on 'Brisbanes best sushi trains' list.

Hidden gem. Very reasonably priced Japanese compared to Ginga and Sushi doll roll.

This is me and my girlfriend's go-to sushi place. The staff are always amazing and friendly, and the chefs plate up the dishes in no time. The food is always fresh so make sure a salmon or tuna nigiri is on your list. I recommend ordering your plates to ensure they are nice and fresh instead of grabbing from the conveyor.

We love eating here. There is a few plates to choose from on the "train" but everytime we have been there we have ordered and it is made fresh. It is always delicious and it is reasonably priced. We love coming here as it is close to home. Definitely recommend it.

Good service, reasonable price and great sashimi. Mostly Western style sushi on the train but menu orders pretty quick.

It's very tasty but a bit expensive. I normally get takeaway. If you order at the counter you can be waiting a very long time. I prefer to call up and order.

We used to eat at Shinsen Sushi a few years ago. Our go-to was the Japanese Chicken Curry as a take away dish with spring rolls for entree. We ventured back again tonight and were bitterly disappointed. The curry bowl included rice, chicken and a wad of salad (mostly just onion) bathed in mayo. It came with the curry sauce in a side dish to add yourself. The curry sauce was SUPER watery and completely flavourless. The spring rolls were just standard. Nobody was in the store from the time I ordered until my take away was ready. I can see why. How can you stuff up a Japanese Chicken Curry? Unfortunately we will not return.

The sushi here is ok, mostly fresh and the service is pretty good. I think it can be a little confusing as to what they specialise in as they have a korean menu. There Korean fried chicken is really good, i think if thats what you go there for you would be pretty impressed. Overall we recommend ordering your sushi , so it comes out fresh but the korean fried chicken is recommended. I often get there lunch special for $10 during the week with the chicken, value for money👍.

This is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant. Food is of Average to Above average quality. We went there regularly for dinner. But they may have a change of management recently and the food is not as good as before.....

Tasted how sushi should taste, perfectly seasoned rice. we had aburi prawn, aburi eel, tempura prawn, takoyaki full of octopus and the karage chicken. Was quite envious when I saw the other diners Tempura vegetable basket which was beautifully presented.

I love sushi, I just wish more places made it with brown rice. You can't go wrong with some sashimi and dumplings on the side though! Good quality sushi.

Great place and cheap.. This place does great Sushi for cheap - only $3.50 per plate which is much better value than the other Sushi Train at Portside. The 'double prawn' is especially nice. Just remember to order fresh rather than off the train.

Can't say I liked it or not because I didn't get a chance to eat there. We arrived at 11:30am and there was only 1 person there. Once we sat down for about 2mins, the waitress wanted to take our orders. After selecting a few of our normal japanese favourites, we were informed they had no Tuna, no Scallops, no Kingfish, and no Wagyu... Sooo just salmon until after new years (after 1.5wks). So far I can't rate it on food, because we left the restaurant, but a japanese sushi restaurant without these ingredients is like losing both legs and all fingers. I rate it 1/10 for management. 1 was for the very sincere apologies from the waitress. Chef/owner/manager were all like deadfish.

The sushi were quite fresh and delicious. There was a special of $3.50 for any plate which made it quite affordable. Close proximity to Portside is a definite plus.
