Review Theobroma Chocolate Lounge - Hamilton

Delicious. Kids loved the French toast. Tea was good love the tea set and large handle mugs. My food said vegetables but was just a half tomato and 1 mushroom. But was very yum. Love that you have natural sweetener for customers. Service was very very good.

Yesterday I went to Theobroma Chocolate Lounge for chocolate and it was exceptional a lovely experience overall. The chocolate drink was a treat I hardly ever get unless I'm here. I ordered rosti with bacon crispy also delicious and asked for scrambled eggs not poached. They chef obliged me (I don't eat eggs unless it is scrambled and or as an omelet. Egg has to be hard not runny I'm not an egg fan. It came with mayonnaise sauce to complement the rosti. I always thanks the hosts when I leave. I hear some customers moaning about the condition of the seats however my seating was comfortable. And the house is always tidy and clean when I go in. Believe me they try their best to please customers however some cannot be pleased regardless. New seating ? maybe brighter furniture maybe but I went for the food experience and I really like it here. I especially love the food and chocolate choices on offer here, big mihi Theobroma staff

Took my son for a very rare brunch out and gambled on the chocolate lounge having good food as well as their luxury chocolates and I’m so glad I did! I had my stock standard eggs benny and it was so delicious and light that I found myself unable to stop eating even to help my son sort his plate!! My son had his very first steak sandwich and it was crazy tasty. So much thought has gone into this meal I was compelled to show my son how customers show cafes their gratitude in NZ. A great review to spread the love!! Thank very much for this amazing memory with my son.

We all loved the friendly staff and good food. Belgium hot choc was divine, kids loved the waffles and strawberry milkshake! Choc mousse from the cabinet was really good! open till 6pm, upstairs next to farmers

These guys are great and always friendly even if they look a bit sour faced sometimes 😄 Makes sense, I would be too in customer service every damn day. My favorite is the hot chocolate and moccachino, made with real chocolate, and the lovely Asian chicky always remembers how I want it. I prefer these guys - food included - compared to the Hamilton central branch who are rude, food is yuck and their place is always grubby.

The kitchen staff do an amazing job of cooking everything perfectly. Have never had an overcooked egg once! The dining area is clean and the waiting staff are very nice.

Great place! Service was super friendly and helpful, great range of food and drinks and amazing choices of chocolate. I had a normal fruit salad from the everyday menu which was so good!! Super fresh (bananas, gold kiwi, pineapple, mixed red berrys, melon, yogurt, honey) and great value. The waffels are really good as well. Would totally go back and try a hot chocolate next time!

Amazing mocha, very unique presentation, with a candle underneath and actual choclate on it. The breakfast was also very well done. The staff were friendly, and the service was very fast and prompt. Highly recommended for anyone stopping by chartwell mall.

first time trying this place & its not the best place if i’m being honest, fries tasted stale & like dirt, turkish bread on the blat & bene were both soggy as, the avocado on my blat sandwich was brown, the spinich on the bene was definitely not fresh. honestly wont go back,

This place offers the best chocolate drinks in the town. Hot chocolate drinks are the best. Ambience is good stuff stuff friendly. And the other varieties of confectionaries which are unique in taste. It's a must go place

This is a nice cafe with really good coffee. The cabinet food however is very generic (and average) with no point of difference from other cafes. On the other hand, their menu is good. My favorites and the Greek and the Cajun Chicken salads (pictured).

Freshly made waffles drizzled with Belgian chocolate and vanilla ice cream on the side combined with iced mocha just completed my sweet fix this afternoon. They were all delicious. The service was fast and it only took 5 minutes for them to serve my iced mocha and another couple of minutes wait for our waffles. We were truly satisfied with the service and food. Definitely will come back next time.

Wonderful hot chocolate!!! Made with real chocolate! They also have cups that can hold a candle in the bottom to keep the chocolate hot! Little bit disappointed by the food, the too liquid texture of the thickshake (maybe is just the way they make it) and it was a little bit funny to see broken novelties sold on special. I used to work in a chocolate shop and we usually make small pieces of broken novelties to give them as tasters. Maybe it depends on the choice e of the manager, the owner or the rules of the franchising.

Such a wonderful experience, I honestly can't think of any negatives to our visit and to our meals that we ordered😊. Highly recommend for all you chocolate lovers

Shit place! The woman at the counter has got the worst attitude I have ever come across in my life! On top of everything she wanted to charge us $1 for hot water to heat my baby's milk bottle, after we have already spend money in lunch for 2. Terrible service and I will NEVER come back!

Nice place, yummy treats and lovely staff! Although being in a mall makes it quite noisey, but that didn't stop my waffles from tasting impeccable!

Poor service and poor food quality. The lady at the counter hesitated to take my order because they were closing at 5:00 PM although it was only 4:15 pm. I ordered Cajun chicken open sandwich and was served with only 3 small slices of chicken and the food wasn't fresh either. Quite the opposite of its other branch at the Centre Place. Never visiting the place again and wouldn't recommend this place to a friend.

Came here one Saturday, ordered an iced chocolate, chocolate milkshake, nachos and open steak sandwich.<br/>The nachos have one small handful of beef mixture, I expected more for $15 odd dollars and partners steak was overcooked not medium rare like he asked for.<br/><br/>My meal came first and the steak sandwich came some time later, meals should come at the same time. <br/><br/>Do come here for the chocolate flavoured drinks, after all it is a chocolate lounge,

This branch is definitely the best one I've visited thus far in New Zealand! <br/><br/>After a late night shop, we decided to visit this cafe for some dessert. We ordered mandatory waffles, 2x mochas and a chocolate brownie. The waffles were OK, I think it was a bit undercooked as we could tasted the eggy-ness of the waffles. Mochas were OK too. The star of the night was the chocolate brownie, drizzled in chocolate sauce (drool). I definitely recommended it. <br/><br/>All in all, slightly above average cafe. Would probably visit again.

Far more than hot chocolate and chocolates, which they do very well, I have now experienced their non-chocolate menu and it was tasty and worthwhile. Great way to start the day. Chilli Hot Chocolate, always lovely and always want more chilli.

Too much hype around the waffles! <br/>Not my choice of place to go. Found the burger/sandwich average but the chicken seemed very processed. Otherwise wasn't too bad.

Just had breakfast here... Highly disappointed with the service and food did not taste so good as well. Not worth for the money I paid ($60) for two. No doubt their white chocolate mocha was good but that's the only best part of the whole breakfast.

I often come to the chocolate lounge as the coffee was amazing as so was the food but in the last eight months the food has been quite disappointing.i would always get a chicken sandwich,well i stopped buying them After the last one i had was no where near fresh!!!they happily gave me back a refund.i went back today and thought i might just try my luck on a finger sandwich,took one bite and the egg smelt old and the bread was hard.very disappointing considering the staff are so friendly and the cafe always looks lovely and clean.so looks like i will only be back for coffee.

Use to go here all the time but on the last visit was not happy, got two coffees one was a cuppachino with cinnamon on top, it come with chocolate, my husband thought it was his, added his sugar and drank a bit, then came what I thought was my one but was told it was the mocha my husband ordered, to keep the peace my husband drank it and I said I would like a new one; to my distaste he took my husband's coffee away added some more milk took off the chocolate and put cinnamon on top, the cup was over flowing down the side, I could taste the sugar that my husband put in knew it was his old one, put off I went back and said I want a fresh one made which was done, but couldn't get out of there quick enough. Will not be back.<br/>P.S my son said the $6.50 berry smoothie is just a weak milk shake with flavouring. Disappointed.

Surprised there haven't been any reviews about this place! If you live in Hamilton, there's no way you haven't been here. Their food and drinks are amazing! Rich, creamy, smooth, definitely will not let you down. Neither will the location and its decoration. The price is something that puts me off a little though. I know the ingredients are genuine quality, still makes me hesitate to go back. Can get a little sickening after a while because it is genuine chocolate hence genuinely sweet... But a water fountain is conveniently located at the back of the store. Go for the smaller cups if you don't want to waste good food :)
