Review Vivo Kitchen & Bar - Hamilton

We really enjoyed our dinner at State & Main. It was a Wednesday night, but the restaurant was quite lively. I ordered the Honey Glazed Cajun Chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and it was delicious. The chicken breast was blackened, but it was also moist and tender. My son ordered a medium rare NY strip steak, and he loved it. Our server was friendly and attentive. She heard us discussing my son's birthday, and at the end of the meal, she brought out a large slice of chocolate mocha cake for him. We'll definitely be back again.

Came here for a friends birthday and it was very good!! Our waitress was great and the food was on point as well!! Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had no issues! They gave my friend a free dessert for her birthday as well! They were fairly busy as well, but we did not have a super long wait for the food. They were very efficient and clearly a popular place!

My wife and I came here for the first time and were told good things. Upon entering there was a funky smell, not sure what it was or how to describe it other than hot plastic. After sitting down the smell faded away. The staff was friendly and we we seated quickly even though it was fairly busy with almost all tables full. The menu was a little surprising, consisting of a handful of burgers, handful of Thai dishes and handful of typical mains like stake or salmon. I went for the Royal Bangkok Noodle Bowl, spicy. It was tasty, good flavours with a touch of heat. My wife had the Sirloin with asparagus and poutine instead of mashed potatoes. The steak was good, cooked perfectly. My wife said she enjoyed it more than the Keg! The poutine was alright but could use more cheese curds, the sauce was definitely off the grocery store shelf stuff. Overall I think it was good but it just seemed to lack in the intangibles perhaps. The atmosphere didn't really have much of an impact on us, but we'll probably be back for the food.

After a busy day my husband and I were on our way home with our very large German Shepherd / Belgian Malinois, I called State & Maine hoping we could bring our dog to sit on the patio to enjoy a drink and a meal before heading home, they not only welcomed our dog but served him first with a big bowl of cold water. Our waitress Kayla was extremely pleasant, making us feel very welcome! I love to see I smile on a waitresses face and she had the best smile. Thank you, Kayla, Jo-Ann, Greg & Gunner 🐕🐾

Recently moved nearby and wanted to try a nice place. Loved it do much that I have already been here couple times.Yummy food and lovely Service🤌🏼

2023.06 My friend and I have been here a couple of times for lunch and each time we went with appetizers. We have had bangbang shrimp, Brussels sprouts and calamari and all dishes tasted good. Considering the size of their appetizers, their prices seem to be higher than that at other similar restaurants. Very friendly servers and fast service.

State & Main is one of our fav go to spots for lunches, their menu is amazing and prices are great for the quality and quantity of food.

Excellent food. Service was most outstanding, our server this evening (Jan 28), Juliana, was absolutely fantastic. Attentive without hovering. Cheerful. The rest of the staff was excellent as well, any server going by the table would look, and ask if an empty dish or glass could be taken.

Pleasantly surprised. Best food I've had in Hamilton (admittedly I haven't been to many) I got the Royal Bangkok noodle bowl and the noodles and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Way better than the typical chain restaurant. Taste could be better (7/10), but the textures were definitely 10/10. Service was quick, though the restaurant was maybe half full at best on Easter Sunday. Compared to the run of the mill Moxies/ milestones/ Joey's. This ranks above them all and I'm looking forward to going to another location or seeing them expand. Compared to Toronto, expect above average food with below average prices, which makes it a winner in my book. Cocktails were $10, which is around half what you would see in downtown.

Went for Valentines Day and had their valentines menu. The food was fantastic! Every bite was wonderful, our server was lovely, and considering it was valentines Day, we didn't wait too long!

Visit regularly and I wouldn't be afraid to try anything on the menu (except the wings), which is saying a lot already about a chain franchise. The happy hour food and drink deals are great value. The parm crisps (homemade potato chips) are an excellent snack. The Mac n Cheese is creamy and tasty. The spinach dip is something to avoid as it's too runny and lacks cheese (smoothie/soup texture). The pretzels with beer cheese dip is better. Service is always great and there's a good vibe. That said, get a new chicken wing supplier. Yours are small, dry, and could benefit from some breading (2/10).

We went to celebrate with some friends. The service was wonderful, the food was good, and the atmosphere was excellent. I will go again.

I ate here for the first time, didn't have much expectations but I definitely had to give it 5 stars. My server Kerri was one of the best I've ever had she made the experience better and the food was right on also.

For the price our food was delicious and worth the money 4.5 woune more accurate. My husband's steak was perfectly done. It wasn't as tender as we are use to at home. But, very tasty either way.

Was seated right away & the waiter was very nice. My beverage & meal were fantastic 🤤🥰. Can’t wait to come back & try more things on the menu.

I went tonight with my two best friends, and it was a great time! The server Ivy was always super friendly, took photos for me and my friends, checked on us every so often. Definitely recommend the place :) The food was great, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was great!
