Review Sentinel Cafe - Hamilton

We’re traveling in New Zealand right now and sampling all the vegan options. Sentinel honestly has the BEST vegan fare we’ve had so far. We had the porridge and the Moroccan beans (vegan version). Pro tip: add the fried mushrooms to your beans! Super tasty and filling! I couldn’t even finish all my beans.

A great place for a “treat yourself” lunch. The coffee comes in cups that are nice to drink out of. A finer ceramic than many places. They do batch brew as well as the usual coffee styles. The menu has a brunch/lunch feel. They have weekly specials and make seasonal changes as well so there’s usually something exiting on offer. The staff are super friendly. The decor is really nice and it’s well laid out. This is not a quick/fast place to eat, on a whim. However, they will take orders for you to dine in via phone or email, and it works well for those short lunch breaks.

Great breakfast spot with really rustic/industrial interior. We both had the eggs Benedict and was really good. Would have been top notch if there’s more hollandaise sauce to go around. Had the hot chocolate and tumeric latte

Food was bloody brilliant! We were blown away at the number of great vege options, with the options for meat eaters being just as good. Coffee was one of the best I have had in a long time - excellent coffee art to boot. Cherry on top was the great service. Friendly staff, food was really quick, and everything was really clean. 10/10 would recommend!

We had the Omlette & Chicken Bowl, Lemon Ginger Tea & Orange Juice. Both was well served, well sized portions and yummy! However, the service was not overly considerate: No warmly welcome, nobody asked how we were doing while we had our food & they first forgot to bring my orange juice. The café has a pretty interior design and comfortable benches. There are no rubbish bins in the ladies room, please optimise that.

Spacious inner city cafe with tasty food and great coffee. Located directly across from Hazel Hayes on the river side of Victoria Street this is an easy walk and just far enough North that you may even get a park.

Best cafe in the area! Amazing food, haven’t found a single thing on the menu that isn’t delicious. Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Can’t ask for better!

Great service, friendly staff, delicious food and 10/10 vibes. The fit out is so nice - definitely elevating Victoria street up a notch! Also, you can’t go past the fact that they serve Grey Roast coffee 🤤
