Very popular, jam packed, we had to wait a bit to be seated, service was a little slow and lacked a little warmth but it’s understandable given how busy they are, food is good, we came in brunch time so got both breakfast stuff and tapas for lunch, great portion size, drinks are also nice, overall a pretty good experience.
We were recommended this place by a family member who had been here. Food was lovely, well presented and generous serving. I had the corn cakes and bacon, bacon was cooked perfectly. Loved the serving of fruit on the plate too, hubby had big breakfast and couldn’t finish it. Service was fantastic staff friendly. Will be back 😁
We were nicely greeted as we seated. Well priced menu and they were all lovely, nicely seasoned and we presented. Nice and cosy place for a lovely breakfast. Shout out to all the crew, they we’re all attentive and so friendly.
Came in on a Sunday morning with a group of 9 and had no issues getting seated. Staff were friendly and the food was great. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive and the smoothie was great as well. Well priced.

We’ve eaten here twice so far and both times the food has been delicious. Highly recommend the wedges. Coffee was good and even satisfied the fussy palate of my husband. He snuck off here for breakfast while we swam and reckons it was delicious.
They were busy today but let us know how long food might be before we ordered which was really appreciated. Would definitely come back for another meal.
Rustic cafe is our favourite restaurant at Hanmer and the most recent visit was another confirmation why!
We were there for lunch on Queen’s Birthday. We had vegetarian club sandwich, which was made freshly for us, was immense, tasty and satisfying.
We had also ordered garlic bread loaf. But we couldn’t finish the two items between the two of us, and had to bring a garlic loaf home.
The pot of tea was also large enough for two persons, and more.
We were fortunate to meet Stacey, who co-owns the place.
Today, once again, it was clear why Rustic Cafe was our preferred place for food at Hanmer Springs.
Had lunch here, pancakes were amazing and came with plenty of berries, bacon, cream, and syrup 👍
AMAZING food and friendly staff. Generous servings and salads. The atmosphere definitely gave the “rustic” feel.
