Review Mr Yunan - Hanmer Springs

Not much atmosphere to speak of because it's take away. However, the lady at the front desk was absolutely lovely and incredibly kind. She gave us extra chicken wing (it was meant for a party of five but there were 6 of us) which we appreciated immensely. The food was scrumptious and the serving generous. The pad Thai had a tomato tang which was different from other pad thais we had so I would recommend giving that a miss it you don't like tomatoes. The green curry was fantastic. Overall a fantastic experience

First time there and it was an amazing experience and one I would repeat again. Everything was excellent from the first greeting right through to the food. I would recommend to friends and family also to you guys. The upside was it is a 2 minute walk from the unit we were staying in.

Amazing Chinese food! On the recommendation of Tristan at "Hanmer's Coziest" we found Mr Yunan. We ordered starter and a few dishes. It came to less than we expected, but later realised somewhere along the line one of the dishes was missed-out. However, that was no problem in the end. Mr Yunan delivered our food for free 20-30 minutes later and it was amazing - some of the best we've had in NZ. Much more like a great UK Chinese takeaway than some of the watery take-aways we've usually had in NZ. Even though a dish was 'forgotten' we were totally stuffed on the dishes we did have, and couldn't even finish - a rarity for us! I'd almost go back to Hanmer just for this food - only wish it was a sit-down restaurant and a little easier to find.

Very nice Thai food. We had Lemon Chicken and Chicken Cashew Stir Fry. Best place we have eaten from in Hanmer. $70 to feed 4 people. Will definitely buy from here again.

Exceptional food and can’t beat free delivery. Prompt and courteous service. Both had a cold at start of holiday, and after two days of Tom Yum, feeling much better. Highly recommend.

Wow!! We had the vegetable green currie and chicken ginger stir fry and both were delicious, the flavors were incredible and everthing was cooked to perfection. They are generous portions too [we had enough to go back for seconds ]. Thanks Mr Yunan 👏😃👍

The place was very busy when we arrived and there was no dedicated person on the front deak/telephone, but that said, we were served in a reasonable time and the food was fresh, tasty and very well cooked. Absolutely recommend this as a must do in Hanmer.

Top notch Mr Yunan your food is hands down the best in Hanmer Springs. We make this a regular now and the service is top notch and matches the yummy Asian cuisine. “Sue” is a credit to your establishment and she even gave up porcelain plates while dining in at the cosy single table. Love it. Will visit every time we’re in Hanmer.

Lemon chicken was yummy and in a huge portion. Padthai was okay, nothing to shout about. Would not order it again

Best Thai food ever. Always buy Thai meals when we travel around NZ and we've had several meals at Mr Yunan, they have all been terrific. Don't hesitate to go there. Friendly staff too.

We craved Asian food and came up Mr Yunan by chance. It was one of those fantastic surprises...such amazing quality. We ordered takeaway. It was ready on time and the portions were good size and the flavour to die for. Thank you!! We will be back for more when in Hanmer.

Googled best takeaway and this one came up. We got two dishes (cost of $46) it fed four of us (two children). First impressions was hope this tastes good as dosent look anything special. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh veges, tender meat and heaps of sauce to soak up the rice. Everything was bang on. It was busy and that's why.. Great food and for a good price.

I just won a free meal tonight and got the lemon chicken and WOOOOOW it's the best Chinese I have ever had!!! My husband and I are really picky eaters but we loved that lemon chicken and them noodles......best noodles we have ever tried (and we have had a few) next time we order we would get double chicken in our meal but it was literally the best Chinese meal we have ever had so yay thanks Mr yunan

Wow! I ordered the stirfry vegetables & chicken with peanut sauce.. I've eaten out the last few days and this would have to be the best dish in Hamner. The rice is beautiful! �

Got a yummy meal delivered black bean was a little hot for me but it's what we ordered should of got a mild instead of a medium but was really nice the lemon chicken was really nice

Food had no flavour. We ordered 8 dishes and only 1 was ok. Worst Larb Gai ever. Tasted like plain chiken mince. Wontons were soft and gluggy. Ribs came sat in watered down soya sauce with lettuce and cabbage submerged. Meal came delivered in a countdown chilly bag so food was cold on arrival. Id never go here again

Fresh amazing food with loads of flavour! The pad thai & satay chicken was to die for and my friends couldn't stop raving about the chicken larb and juicy prawns. Our stay at Alpine Lodge had us right across the road, we didn't want to eat anywhere else! Highly recommend!

We had massaman curry, satay chicken and sweet and sour pork and it was all delicious! Rang and was delivered within 30mins! Very impressed with how many vegetables were in the dishes some of the best Asian take away food we have had!

It is high time I write you a review! Amazing customer service and an unbeatable advertising campaign! Ask any local in Hanmer Springs and we will all tell you the same thing. The best Asian cuisine I have tasted. Home made and delicious. If you come to Hanmer, a meal from Mr Yunans should be on any bodies to do list!
