Review Salt N Pepper - Hanmer Springs

Such a beautiful cafe! The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. Service is speedy and friendly, the staff offer smiles all throughout your time. Free water and a treat for four legged friends too!

Arrived for breakfast just after they opened so we had to wait a little (not long). Coffee was good, eggs benedict... eggs cooked perfectly, yummy hollandaise, absolutely spot on. But please please please, going nuts painting the plate with balsamic went out in 2005 for good reason. It added nothing to the dish and I had to use a napkin to mop up most of it. Would have been a five star breakfast if not for that.

A new eatery for us in a row of new shops. We had the full breakfast which was huge and poached eggs which were perfectly cooked. The coffee was nicely made but a bit bland for me Come summer the outdoor seating will be a good place to eat.

Bit of miscommunication upon entering.. "grab a menu and take a seat" which implied we were going to have orders taken at our table so we were waiting and waiting not realising we had to go up to the counter, oops. But you made up for it with quick delivery of our breakfast meals and it was delicious!

Steak perfectly cooked to my liking, also came with a tasty mushroom sauce. Partner got the Pork Belly which looked amazing, she was nice enough to share and that was also yum. Will definitely be back next time we are in Hanmer.

Fast friendly service unlike an other place here in Hanmer we left after tables were having their meals before us. We walked out after an hour and found this place, Salt N Peper. So glad we did too!! It was alive and bussing. All staff were working well together to give a wonderful service with a smile. Just what we needed. But the food, just look at the pics. We will be back this holiday thats for sure. Thank you for making our night. We came back Wednesday for an evening with other members of our family to enjoy the same quality service. There we chose Other meals off the menue and all loved each meal. The day was so hot and it was pleasent to sit under cover outside. So remember this name... Salt N Pepper when desiring a perfect dinning out experence.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at Salt & Pepper. Excellent service. We requested pictures of the menu prior to coming, and it wasn’t a hassle at all for these to be sent to us. Great food and excellent table service. Would definitely go again.

Been here 3 times and each time, our meals were well presented and delicious. Staff were friendly. Definitely be back and highly recommend.

My daughter and i spent our Christmas Day dinning and we absolutely loved every minute of it. The food was yum. Cheeseboard was the perfect finish along with a pot of tea. The service was great, friendly staff and the view outside was beautiful. Thank you for an amazing day.

Ah breakfast is beautiful! The drinks are some of the best I've had. Portions are huge, couldn't eat it all. One if the best tasting breakfast we have had in ages! Lookin forward to returning to try the lunch. 5+++ stars!!

We had not booked but they were very accommodating and gave us a table, the service was attentive and our food came out quickly and was presented well and cooked to perfection. Well done to the chefs and front of house team. We felt welcome and had a great time.

Great views for a breakfast out for a group of 7. Service was friendly and atmosphere quaint. Flat white was seriously lacking flavour. Although, the iced mocha was delicious. Food was mostly good (avocado was not ripe for some and the tomato’s weren’t nice to eat).

Such amazing service! They went out of their way to accommodate our group of 6 adults and 4 kids even though we only went for coffee. The food was delicious and coffee was the best we’ve had in Hanmer so far

THE PERFECT DINING EXPERIENCE! After a day enjoying the thermal pools we decided to get some dinner to take back to our hotel. It was our first time trying takeaway meals from a restaurant, called to order and received very friendly and helpful service, with great suggestions that we were absolutely delicious. Meals presented beautifully in biodegradable containers. Perfect serving sizes! Was told we'd have a 20 minute wait, food was on time and served hot. Chargrilled medium rare steak was done to perfection, mushroom gravy was seasoned perfectly. Pork belly was incredible, actually melt in your mouth, and the vegetables with that fresh cooked crunch. Chocolate cheesecake with vanilla bean ice cream was sublime. P.s we'll be returning for breakfast! Thanks Salt & Pepper staff! Very satisfied customers!

Honestly couldn't recommend this place highly enough!! Best place in Hanmer for sure ❤️ ended up here 3 times in 3 days for brunch and for dinner, did not disappoint. The food was amazing, the staff were so lovely and very accommodating and the setting is beautiful 😍

Very disappointed in the entrée we shared the scallops and prawns. scallops had been frozen so where very mushy but everything else that went with it was lovely. The prawns how ever is a NO everything about it was wrong , it was a few tiny little prawns on a piece of toast over powered by balsamic, just don't understand how they can charge $20 for that. on the plus side the mains where absolutely amazing , we had the stuffed chicken and steak. The chicken was so tender and delicious. Only fault on the steak would be the peppercorn sauce way to over pouring, other than that it was so yummy and would definitely go back just wouldn't order entrée

The Cafe is in a wonderful position with a lovely outlook but unfortunately my experience with the food was less than satisfactory. For my lunch I ordered six oysters cooked in beer batter with a seasonal side salad. The oysters were served with a very thick batter coating which was raw under a crisp outer. It was extremely disappointing and I was only able to consume two of the six. I would be reluctant to return to the Cafe nor would I recommend it as a good venue.

Wow !!!! I have to say certainly one of the best breakfasts I have ever had 🤗🤗 Salt n Pepper is rocking in Hanmer Springs ........ this is the place to go when dining out 👍👍👍👍👍 Brilliant service, awesome food,lovely decor and great view of the mountains as you sip away on your coffee 🤗🤗

A great find Had a family get together with Taskers and had a lovely evening meal then a breakfast the following day It was so good we had to go back for another breakfast today. Great food Wonderful staff and lovely setting

We went twice in two days. Beautiful outlook, attentive staff, very comprehensive menu and the food was great. Salt n Pepper will definitely be on our go-back-to list. A great addition to dining options in Hanmer.

Great service & delicious food which arrived promptly despite it being very busy. Best place in Hanmer for breakie or brunch I reckon!

Great venue,lovely food terriable female service.fess up to your mistakes,don’t blame the customer,your performance was worth a written warning from the boss,remember your customers paye your wages.

Fabulous food and great service! Menu has a good range of yummy options. Very accommodating for kids - they were made to feel welcome too and thought they were pretty special having their own little jars of juice! Even got a top up. We'll be back next time we take some time off 😀👍

Great quick service and amazing fresh food. We went there for lunch and then returned the next day for breakfast. The sticky pork belly and scallop salad was amazing.

Had a fabulous meal here last Saturday night. Katrina was the perfect host and made our night when she bought out a dessert for us to share as it was our anniversary. Will definitely be back.
