Nice place and good price for a holiday town. Although the ribs 1/2 kilo was dry, sauce was good, but the meat was hard to chew. The burger is huge and steak sandwich was also good. Service was alright, seemed strange that they ask you "half or pint" for fizzy drinks.
Had lunch at Fire and ice on a Saturday. It was slightly busy. I still got a seat, though. Staff were professional and polite.
Ordered the giant beef burger (Not Giant) size was average. Burger was enjoyable, burger had strong pickle and cheese flavor. Would like it if the burger had more sauces, mayo, or chutney. Would also suggest adding a pattie and egg to bulk it up for the burger to stack up to its name.
Partner got the open steak sandwich, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Sampling a piece of steak, it was tender moist and succulent. Would probably get this next time.

Fire and Ice is a nice place to enjoy meals with friends. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping in to the Hamner area.
Had a wonderful dinner last night at Fire and Ice Cafe Restaurant & Bar. We picked the seat outdoors by the fire place. The staff were very friendly and came to check us on and off. We ordered the Moroccan Chicken, Tuscan Lamb Salad and Farm on a Plate, all of them are savoury and delish. I was surprisingly provided with a warm blanket by a very warmhearted and thoughtful staff as he saw me sitting close to the fire place. We are planning to go for a lunch today and looking forward to it.
Our dinner here was more than a 5-star experience for me! The ribs were exquisite and their pastas were by far the best I had here in NZ! I was a little hesitant to get the Carbonara, I always order this and I feel like I've gotten used to the taste. Fire and Ice's Carbonara made me love the dish again!! It's not too saucey which didnt put me off. Very minimal yet the taste was superb. Gosh everyone should try the ribs!! Absolutely in love with it. Thanks for the lovely dinner you guys xxx
Love this place! Became our regular while staying in hanmer. Food is good and the girl that served us during these couple of days was super bubbly (brunette with checkered vans). Rump steak, salmon and venison dishes are 10/10. Pasta is also pretty good value for money. Fiancè went for breakfast while I was sleeping and loved it. ($10 bacon, eggs and toast). Good variety within the dinner menu. Only given 4 stars as we visited for lunch- ordered burgers and coffee; my cappuccino was more like a flat white (a barista myself so I can spot the difference). My fiancè liked his burger but I think mine would've been better if the chicken was crumbed rather than battered & deep fryed. Just a suggestion for improvement. Meal checking could be a little more consistent. Other than this though; food was incredible and we throughly enjoyed our visits. Cheers guys 😊

When we asked at Top10 where to go with kids they recommended this place. Well, it will become our must go place now 😊 kids were happy playing at playground then drawing pictures. Nice kids menu! We enjoyed our dishes as well. Good selection of drinks.
Arrived at 6pm after the Thermals Pools, it was busy but we got a table. Ordered quickly and waited eagerly for our meals. Food took ages to come, so I took the kids outside to the playground. Eventually got all the food on the table after 45 mins. It would be better if they got the kids' meals out first. For $15, the kids' meals are good value, as you get a main, drink and dessert. We ordered the "Farm on a plate" and the Ribeye
Fabulous meal at Fire&Ice Hanmer. Very busy restaurant but wonderful Waitress still found us the perfect table outside in the shade and I noticed she went out of her way for other diners to find tables that suited their needs instead of just sitting people anywhere. Large meal portions and wine selection was good. Perfect way to spend summer evenings.

Our goto place in Hanmer Springs. You can never go wrong here. The kids love it here as the have a great play area for them and they always make friends there.
No back to the nitty gritty. The menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. The food is tasty and very generous is portion size. They have some great beers on tap and also a fairly large alcoholic menu including some great cocktails. My newest favourite is the "Grown Up Lemonade"😁. We've never left disappointed and our tummies was always full. Sadly our favourite dessert got removed from the menu, so no more "Trio of Mouse" for us after our food. The kids still enjoy their ice cream and chocolate sauce with out a doubt. They also have a breakfast for $9.99 which we still need to try out, but I do know that we will not be disappointed.
Absolutely loved dining here. Saw soany families having a wonderful time around us as well. Really busy when we were there, and the kitchen absolutely handled it. All the food was very good. The service was good, and the staff all helped each other. Really great to see.
