Thank you, very delicous meal, had the famous butter chicken, very nice, comfy seats snd reasonable price. Easy too access with plenty car parks and variety too choose from. The staff could have been more friendly like the last lady mentioned, but I absolutely will revisit as the food was worth it. Thank you

This is the best curry i have ever eaten in New Zealand. The service from the young fella is excellent! If you're South African and like Bunny chow, this is the place to go. You'll never buy takeaway food from anywhere else again. This place needs more advertising! Please spread the word and bring family and friends to enjoy the wonderful food and service. Thank you for bringing Durban curry to Hastings! 🙏

I can't fault Spice Traders. Definitely my favourite Indian place in Hawke's Bay. I've tried a few dishes from there. The ingredients are always fresh, everything is so delicious. My favourites are the lamb korma, fish malabari & dahi wada. The butter chicken & cheese & garlic naan are great also. Everything is. It just depends what your into. Such a great place. Fast, easy delivery. Thank you so much. 5 stars from me.

My meal was delicious. After 7pm they don't have the dine in experience. Which annoyed me a little. Because this particular night we wanted to dine in , out of the cold and wind expecting to sit down and eat a hot meal . They don't close until 9pm.

Super friendly staff and recommended dishes they thought we would like, but in the end our craving for chicken korma was far too great. Come here for your Indian cuisine as there are countless others around Napier/Hastings area you'll never go wrong here. Keep up the good work and customer experience, well be back again soon! ;)

Experience was excellent. Service was fast and accommodating, and the food that we bought was hot even after a quick trip to the supermarket! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the sauce was deliciously spicy. There was also a good meat to rice ratio and it didn't feel stingy. Brilliant restaurant! :D

We are so thrilled to have found Spice Traders in Hastings. It is the most tasty and authentic Indian food we have eaten in New Zealand! We go there frequently, and we are always impressed. The depth of flavour in the food is incredible. Our favourite is a dosa. The lamb biryani is out of this world too. When our daughter and her partner visit from Wellington as visit to Spice Traders is a must. Thank you, Spice Traders! We will be back soon.

I tried their masala dosa that I was craving for 2 weeks. It was massive and worth the price. Flavour was so on point. Sambhar was delicious. Loved it. The only thing I would like to suggest to management is to give bit more training to staff to keep the restaurant tidy taken as in priority because I was there for almost an hour and a half and most of the tables which were already dirtier never been cleared for the time being and the fact was it was not busy. Staff seems busy catching up with each other. As a hospitality staff, I would consider keeping the restaurant clean and tidy for customers to make it pleasant vibe.

Lovely casual setting. Very clean. Great customer service. Food is absolutely Devine especially the mango chicken. Great selection of Curry's. Sorry Bollywood but you have now become my second option.

Today went to the restaurant with family and ordered masala dosas. When asked the staff whether the sambhar is freshly prepared today- got a sarcastic reply as ""no sir it was prepared 2 week back, being surprised with pathetic reply of the counter staff as in some joke with the customer"". He could have just told me that yes it's freshly prepared or all our food are prepared fresh and show level of professionalism. I'm not rating the food as after that conversation I did not even enjoyed the food. By the way I asked this question as I'm allergic to the food prepared a day earlier...I hope the management should train their staff so that they at least know how to interact with the customer professionally. Ya certainly not going back to the restaurant again....

Had been to different spice traders across New zealand ...Hastings menu appeared different with wide variety including Bombay chinese &South Indian dishes!!

Chola bhatura...too filling ! Masala dosa, sambar and tomato chutney were satisfactory...not heavily priced.

I wouldn’t call Spice traders as an authentic Indian restaurant. The food has an Indian essence but it’s not Indian at all. The butter chicken literally tastes like chicken in hot ice cream. Tried the fried rice which was too damn oily. A 100% no go if you want to try Indian food.

This was the first indian restaurant that i got food from in hastings...
Well i did order the butter chicken n rotti....and also the chole battura........well the chole battura...was rather good n fulfilling....the butter chicken, being an indian, did not like it because it felt like eating hot ice cream with chicken pieces(this was basically for the kiwis)....well if ur an indian do ask them to make it in the traditional indian style with a bit more spice......once i did order the chicken biriyani....it was good..had good texture n flavour

So, we guys were just craving for South Indian breakfast... And came across this... First ones through the door and we got Masala Dosa, Vada and Idly. Everything was spot on... Felt just like home. The Idly was not as soft as I had expected, but the Vada, Sambar and coconut chutney were splendid. Tomato chutney didn't feel like back home... But hey... Can't complain! Prices are decent too, it's worth it!

The food was good, could have been better. Friendly and quick service but nothing unique. Prices are reasonable.
Tried the biryani here, the bones of the chicken took most of the space in the container.

It wasn't a very good experience, the food was below average and the service was poor...........................................................
Had lunch with the girlfriends here. I had the chickpea curry, while my girlfriends had the mild chicken and vegetarian curry. The food was typical indian fare, but service was just perfect. I also tried the mango lassi super refreshing.
