Review Kaos On H - Hastings

Tony Henderson-Newport
I found this cafe via a Google search and some solid reviews. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the eclectic vibe of this small cafe and the down-to-earth nature of the staff & service. I think this cafe flies under-the-radar and would recommend a visit to explore something different in the Hawke's Bay Cafe culture.

Awesome little find on lower Heretaunga St. This cute retro cafe is really worth a visit, especially on a cold day, where I enjoyed yummy bacon n veg soup served with sliced toasted cheese scone... what more do you need..oh yes yummy coffee. Why not rock up and give them a try👍🥰

Friday, It's like coming home to mothers home cooked food. The Tomato and caps soup with comp Cheese fried scone is the bomb. Monday...So good that I drove from Napier to Hastings to buy out their Tomato and caps soup yip all of it lol. An added treat of Chicken and leek pie for hubby...oh my..so good.

Nice atmosphere, smiling staff. Coconut milk for my coffee was not nice though. Should be sweet. There are no good supermarket brands!

This may well become our new lunch spot! Had a delicious salmon bagel and creamy mushrooms and a nice BIG pot of tea. Fabulous decor and lovely staff. We'll be back!!

Love the cafe, staff are very personable, amazing menu, and the most beautifully cooked bacon I have had in a while. This will be my new spot.

I thought of giving Kaos 4 stars, since perfection is unattainable, but the friendly warmth of the staff added so much to the seriously fun and cool ambience that I had to round up from the 4.75 I would have given were it possible. And anyway, they deserve extra for being so proudly supportive of those happy few who wish to avoid GF foods! 👌👍

Great coffee. Great service. What more do you want? 6 mo later : re-review. Nothing has changed. Pies still killer. Nice. 👌

I didn't want to sit here so long. That's why I got a take away. But the coffee was too good and the chair too soft. And the place too fun. And the parking fine not too expensive. #worthit

Friendly staff and good food. There have been a few bad businesses in that location in the past, but definitely worth checking out now.

Love this nucky little blast from the past retro Cafe. So much iconic memorabilia for a stroll down memory lane, good service, reasonable priced and good coffee ☕ 😂
