Review Mamacita - Havelock North

The team are very efficient (as always). Tonight I was especially impressed, because it was a busy night and we only needed a table for two. The only options for two were bar leaner stools, which my husband can't eat at well, due to his disability. The young lady didn't hesitate to place us at a table that was clearly set for 5. So awesome team! We will definitely be back.

What a cool little find in Havelock North. It’s what every Mexican restaurant should be, a bit quirky, small, friendly staff, great margaritas and nice simple tasty menu. It’s such a simple formula that many places get it wrong trying too hard but Mamacita have nailed it. Can’t wait to come back and try some more food and yummy margaritas 😊

We had been recommended this place on several occasions. In terms of food quality. Did they deliver. Great food. Great flavour. Only drawback is orders were not delivered all at the same time.. so as a table of three post starters we were left to wait as each dish was delivered. Strangely. The easiest meal Nachos was delivered last. We could see into the kitchen and it was disappointing to see staff on their phones during service. Other than that it's a great place. Food and value.

Food was delicious! 😋 Prices were quite high though which was awfully disappointing, haven't come across a Mexican restaurant with prices that high. Unfortunately one of the girls who was on cash register did not double check our bill and we ended up paying for someone else's meal (ended up being an extra $80 that we didn't expect)😔. Waitresses were all lovely, and food didn't take too long which was great😊👍

Mexican Vegan Food Available. Really enjoyed the Vegan Quesadilla. Plenty to take home for lunch as well. Margaritas were very good and well priced. They have deals in the week so keep an eye out. I would recommend this place as a mid-week treat. We will be back.

Funky little spot. The staff is incredible, welcomed us so nicely after our car broke on the way to here. Taco is pricy, but so worth it and big. All you need to know to get is the pork Quesadilla. 10 of us agreed it is the best! And Si Mamasita Margherita...and CHURROS! Overall fun jam which can accomodate big groups (10+3 kids)

Delicious food, that is fresh, fast and flavoursome. Highly recommend the pork ribs and the beef brisket quesadilla. The sangria is great too, and isn't heavily watered down with ice as some other bars might do. Note the covered outdoor area out the back is nice to get some fresh air.

Friendly staff, colorful restaurant. Food quality was great, but I would not call this “Mexican” cuisine. Everything was a bit sweet. Music was Cuban... chipotle sauce tasted like sweet barbecue sauce, not at all like chipotle.

Loved everything! Great decor, staff, food and atmosphere. It was 2 for 1 tacos so got very busy and loud (not too loud). Must do!

Fantastic. This was our first visit at mamacita and wont be the last one. From the service to food everything was A+. We were explained that food comes and its prepared so there is no course style dinning. They have very good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic options. Restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night and they had to start waiting as restaurant was full. I personally didnt like the decor much but that's just me. Their manager Maggie and the girl who served us couldn't get her name but can remember spelled with "C" were outstanding at service. Not sure but please book just to be on safe side. Great little restaurant for couples and groups of friends. Always very busy but service was excellent food came out fast and every dish was cooked well and fully seasoned, cou l d not fault the meal. No bookings walk in only so expect a wait at the bar. Great place look forward to eating there again.

First timer at Mamacitas, ordered online for pickup which was a lil longer then expected. However was worth the wait food cooked perfectly tasty dishes all round! Recommended
