Review Wright & Co. - Havelock North

Nice local cafeteria with great choice of breakfast/ lunch food options including some vegetarian and vegan and delicious coffee! Service is very good and everyone is smiling being so important to start your day. It’s one of the most popular cafes in town so can get very busy , but there are plenty of seating options both inside, outside as well you can take away.

Consistently good food. Time is taken to listen to feedback with small tweaks made to ensure each dish is as good as possible. A similar approach to decor means the cafe always looks fresh and vibrant. Service is efficient but also warm and friendly, with small touches such as a water bowl for furry friends. All and all a top notch experience.

Recommend their bao buns, crispy outside and soft inside with slow cook pork belly, fat and juice meet, mix with pickle salad to give you the refreshing to balance the fat from the pork bun. Nice combination πŸ€—

The cafe had a great vibe and was buzzing with a Sunday brunch crowd. Great vibrant selection of counter food. We were only able to get a table outside, but the service was still friendly and good. The food presentation was amazing, good portion size and really delicious. Love how they use the local bakery for all their fresh bread. My only criticism was I didn't enjoy my coffee. I actually couldn't finish it. Not as good as Wellington coffee brands.

Lovely service, lots of choice, tables inside and out. Black Doris slice was absolutely delish! Sausage roll was good too!

Really enjoyed brunch here. Business was booming but we didn't have to wait too long to get a table. Really decent portion sizes. One thing to note is that if you sit down at a table and someone orders for your group, then only those who go to the counter get their vaccine passport checked.

First, loved the presentation of the cabinet food, it looked full and colourful. Second, the layout and choice of colour of the cafe worked really well, the cushions were a nice touch the the paintings complimented this well. Third, the music (Lofi?) added a nice ambience to the whole place. Forth, the girls serving us were super helpful and patient, which made us feel more comfortable. Fifth, the food served to us off the menu was presented well and was very filling. The experience overall and the attention to detail was perfect. Awesome job guys.

This place was recommended by multiple friends and it did not disappoint. We went as a group of four and all loved our dishes. The staff were friendly and would recommend to anyone in the area who wants a great brunch. The avo on toast was delicious!!!

Such an outstanding breakfast!!! I had the primal, and hubby had the full breakfast - both were generous servings and cooked perfectly. Yummy mojo long blacks, extracted perfectly. Such beautiful service!!! I couldn't finish my food and got a to-go container, and the lovely waitress stopped me to put some greaseproof paper in so it didn't soak through the container! Super thoughtful and considerate!!! We came at 7am and it was already popular.

Just love Wright and Co. I frequent everyday. Geoff and the team are amazing, coffee sensational and food fresh and tasty. Thank you for a wonderful consistent experience.

The bao buns here are amazing! Nice clean place too with big windows opening out to the street. Menus could do with a reprint, are a bit faded.

We sat outside in the sun. Coffees for we three. G, who is a caffeine king, said it was the best coffee he has had in a long, long time. I had to agree as my Americano was on point with 5 stars. No complaints from number 3. D looked pretty happy. We are all out of towners and look forward to returning again.

Good range of food and prompt friendly service. Prices on the high side, but that's the case nearly everywhere.

Probably one of Havelock Norths BEST places to eat - great staff, tremendous manager and excellent food!! This is a MUST TRY place if your looking for nice atmosphere and selection couples with really reasonable pricing. We've been several times now aardvark EVERYTHING we've tried has BBEdit great. You will not be disappointed

This place has a good selection of cabinet food, everything looks really appealing. Also ordered some polenta chips with Parmesan, very yummy, although maybe over priced for how many chips for $15. Good coffee. Friendly enough wait staff. Will return again!

From Auckland to Hawkes Bay - this place is a genuine gem. Food was outstanding and portion size was fantastic. Came here twice as a result. Very clean vibes too. Only reservation was that owner needed to smile (would have given 5/5). Deff attitude problem. Enjoy! πŸ˜€

Although I the food was great, the service from the maitre de specifically was a real let down. One person in our group felt so uncomfortable that they left to get a coffee elsewhere.

Been here last weekend, reasonable amount of tables and seats but it was almost full. Food was good with nice presentation, plenty and various of menus to choose from :) Good coffee also that is extra for this cold weather!

Good strong coffee and friendly service in a cozy, trendy setting. The eggs benedict with ham was superb with a nice hint of lemon to cut the hollandaise sauce. Perfect runny eggs.. busy even on a week day morning! The pastries in the cabinet look amazing too..

Wow this place is impressive. Great atmosphere, happy/friendly staff, cabinet food that makes your mouth water, and an interesting menu with both familiar and unique options to try. We thoroughly enjoyed our strong/hot coffee and the quality breakfasts. The custard doughnut was amazing!

Highly recommended for a great breakfast. We will definitely be back to try from the lunch and dinner menus in the future.

Update June 2017: Recently tried a rather surprising breakfast here ... Scrambled eggs in Chiang Mai curry with poppadoms, halloumi, coriander and peanuts. Can't imagine eating it for breaky? Just try it! It sat well on the stomach and was very satisfying and "warming" on a cold winters day πŸ˜‹
