Review Chan's Chop House - Havelock North

Nice food, forgot to take a snap of my fried chicken but it was yum! Good service. The only issue was it is very loud when a large party is next to you, the 5 of us had to yell to communicate.

The food and service was good. I'd just like to add that the wine is rather expensive. It's not supermarket wine, it's from the local vineyards. We didn't know that when we ordered 2 bottles of wine, one white & one red and were a little surprised to see a cost of $120 on our bill for our two bottles. Nice wine, but nice prices too.

Amazing service and knowledgable staff. I wasn't aware that EVERYTHING is made from scratch and I love that attention to detail. We had some sorbet while waiting for our takeaways and it was incredible!! It's difficult not to over-order at this place. But, no worries, leftovers!! I'll have to return to try out those interesting looking cocktails.

Dined here several times. One of my most favourite restaurants. The chefs create authentic delicious food. A fun place to go but struck a night where kids screaming and jumping on seats. This spoiled the evening. Why do adults have to put up with other people's kids! Would not recommend if you want a quiet night out. Bring on a Zen restaurant just like this one.

We went to chans last night for an anniversary absolutely delicious fresh food. The two young lady's on the counter were lovely and were working well and quickly. We had entrees, the chicken wonton were delicious, hubby got the spring rolls that you wrap in lettuce and dip. Then he had the pork belly with apple sauce was very crunchy and yum. I had the cc chicken was a big helping and was really nice. Definitely will go back

First time trying it today. Got the fried rice and spring rolls for takeaways. Fried rice it’s really good and spring onion in it is def a must-have to me. Filling is well seasoned and moist enough with mince juicy but just a bit too dense to me so it might be helpful to balance the veggies / mince portion in it. Worth a try and will be back. Thanks for the fast service!

Great food and very friendly attentive service. The eggplant and dumplings were particular standouts. We enjoyed the cocktails and the atmosphere. Thank you so much for being open on a public holiday when it seemed we were going to struggle to find a place to eat out!

A tasty fulfilling meal! Every dish was superb. My favorite was the fried rice - super tasty! I will definitely be back.

So good! The food was amazing and full of flavor and came out so fresh and hot. Great/standard value for money. Would 100% dine here again. They also cater so well for a gf and df diet! It would be smart to book a table to make sure you don't miss out.

Great little restaurant. I had the prawn and coriander dumpling and spring rolls, both were excellent best I have had. My wife had the pork belly which she also rated highly. Serving staff were polite and helpful.

Beautiful food always love going there when we can. Staff and chefs amaze balls. Worth the money.

Booked with a large group for a Saturday night, which meant we could try most dishes on the menu. Kicked off with cocktails, the GnT being my fav. I won’t list all the dishes and I’m gutted I didn’t take photos but the Salmon was delicious, Crispy eggplant is not to be missed, Fried chicken was a winner by all, and the curry’s were perfect for a cold night. The sorbets were delicious and a nice finish to the night and the deep fried ice cream was one of the best I’ve had. Couldn’t recommended this place enough, the head chef knows his stuff!! Make sure you take some of the Chans chilli oil home with you as well.

Amazing food. The crispy chicken was just delicious and the dumplings tasty and perfectly made. The food is reasonably price but felt the wine list was overpriced for the setting and the waitress didn't even pour the wine out for us. Things looked a little shabby and felt that the service was very average

I was surprised to find these elevated flavours in a small town, this place is Melbourne quality. The chefs deserve a raise, gorgeously delicious food, and Miss blondie (sorry dont know her name) killed it today being the only waiter and cashier in a pretty full house and giving great service with an awesome attitude. Great spot!!!

Okay, this place was so much better than expected. Went in with low expectations and came out with the highest recommendation. Wonderful for sharing with family and friends, decent portions (not to mention DELICIOUS) and a cute atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

This place is sooo good! While the menu is designed to cater for groups sharing meals, it is also great for those of us that dine alone (sometimes). There are small, medium and large meals..highly recommend the salmon little plate..raw salmon cubes that is served with lime pearls that just pop with flavour. They are my new favourite food!.Had a side of greens which was delicious, fried rice and dumplings (yum). All washed down with a well made lychee martini.Next time I visit I am defo goin back to try other dishes and work my way through the menu. Love finding small places like this..great food made with a lot of aroha in a simple setting. I will be back!!
