Review Rays Place - Havelock

Drove to Havelock for mussels, fries and white wine. Ended up with a mussel pie, cheese scone for hubby, and the best cup of Earl Grey tea. This tea room and the food exceeded our expectations. Very happy we chose Ray’s Place.

We stopped in on our way home from Nelson. The food was well presented, very tasty, the service was great. Next time we are passing through, I will definitely call in. Sit inside or out, with a view of the Marina.

Great service and wide selection of food made on site. Great for eat in or take away. Quality, clean and friendly. A great place to stop if traveling. I don't think they do cooked breakfast but have tood to heat and eat.

Found Ray's after a drive along the beautiful Queen Charlotte Drive. Perfect place for a coffee and light lunch. The breakfast panini was excellent and my wife enjoyed the fresh cream cakes. Stopped here again the next day en route to Kaiteriteri. Highly recommended.

A really quaint little place with an altogether charming appearance both inside and out. We arrived for lunch on a Monday, most other places in Havelock were closed, it was late 1-30 pm ish. Despite this the place was bright and clean the staff friendly and attentive. Plus the food was fresh and tasty, what more could you ask? If you're passing through Havelock stop off and give it a try.

Had a Mussel Pie at Ray's and loved it! Beautiful mornay sauce and heaps of mussels! Yum! On the smaller side than the bakery but nicer pastry, better flavour & more mussels.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to get the Picton Ferry. So glad we did. Cosy and warm. Lovely food. Amazing steak pie. Yummy slices.Great coffee and hot chocolate. We recommend this lovely place.

Great stop for a quick bite whilst travelling through the region. Fast friendly service, great food what's not to like. Highly recommended

Our bus to nelson broke down right outside of this cute wee cafe for a while and the owner had come over and offered free food to everyone on board as she was about to close and nothing went to wastage ! I thought this was such a beautiful kind gesture and my iced Chelsea bun was absolutely devine. You lady's rock ! 🤘🏼❤️ Can't wait to stop in here next time and order something. We are are all so happy 😊 thank you so much. Really made my afternoon x

Great homebaking,everything made in house,good coffee and friendly team.enjoy the view of pelorus sound from the deck out the back.highly recommended.they even make the bread fresh every day.say hi to Paddy!

Love this place, been twice in 2 days. Great strong coffee, excellent Mac and cheese, and cream and custard donut. Lovely ladies who fussed endlessly over little Willow. 100% recommend this place, best food, best vibe, lovely ladies. Will be back tomorrow before we head back out on the road.

We stopped here for lunch last Wednesday. There is a great selection of food, and we both opted for the cheese scones. We glad we did, they were delish😀My hot chocolate was lovely too. Staff are friendly. Even though it was very busy, the service was great. Will return when next in Havelock.

Best cappuccino I've had in ages. Piping hot & strong. And a bonus 2 milkbottle lollies ( my favorite).

Visited with my dad twice while we were in the area over King's Birthday weekend, we both really enjoyed the coffee and food. Rays Place was pleasant with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere.
