Review The Gelato Caffe - Hawera

George Slavchev
Very good café with nice, friendly service. I had the Chicken & Bacon Burger, which was presented beautifully on a wooden board and it tasted amazing as it comes with jalapeño relish. I then tried some of their gelato - it's hard to choose what to get as the options are so many, and it's very affordable at just $3.50 for two flavours in a cup or a cone. Later, I came back to grab a coffee to go and that was delicious too. Overall, a great little gem right in the middle of Hawera.

Great for an ice cream, coffee or something to eat. Great service and nice peole. If you are lucky you might get a concert on the piano at the door.

I have been here twice for brunch in recent weeks and can only complement the high standard of food presentation and taste of the dishes I ordered. Pair this with a high quality coffee and friendly and helpful staff and it has become a must visit place each time I visit Hawea. Will post photos after next visit.

Every time i travel to Hawera this will be my favourite place to call in for lunch or a coffee . The owner is a very customer orientated person and he is very attentive. The food plus price compliments each other. I highly recomend his Thai beef salad ...carrot cake and great coffee.

There weren't any other coffee-centered cafés open in Hawera today, so this was a default stop, but seemed well patronised by clients being addressed by first named. We were pleased with our decision as the food was excellent, the coffee moreish and the service exceptional. Thank you. We will stop here again when in town.

Popped in for coffees whilst we were passing through town. Lovely service, and quite possibly the best coffee I have had for a while. Menu looked varied and interesting will certainly visit again.

The best coffee in South Taranaki, and a friendly host. A light and open seating area. The gelato was also delicious and I appreciated it was served in a glass bowl with a real spoon, not in a paper cup. Definitely stop here if you are traveling through Hawera.

Was back in my home town this week and this cafe had the best Macaroni Cheese ever! The family also loved the gelato! Will be back!

What a wee gem. Very low key about its gf options. The gf eggs bendict was yum. And well priced! The staff were polite and friendly. The cafe was clean, bright and uncluttered.

Very good meals and excellent gelato, the menu is not extensive but still with enough variety to suit most. The coffee was well made and the service excellent.

He is closed now until 15th October.. Shortage of staff. Just in case out of town people come to their fav cafe. I am trying to get hold of the owner, so if anyone knows, please get in touch.
