Review The Jetty Licensed Cafe @ Shelly Beach - Helensville

Relaxing spot, stunning views, lovely staff, generous food portions. Food a bit greasy, some more plantbase options would be good. Have to comment on the public toilets...so clean, cute native tiles place among the while tile. Huge mobility impaired shower available. Super impressed.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Service was a little slow, but this was forgiven due to covid and the fact that the place was busy. Really pleasant to sit on the front deck and watch the boats going in and out. Definitely worth a trip up to Shelley Beach for lunch

We stopped in here on our bike ride and had 2 long blacks and a chocolate brownie. Brownie was delicious and moist and served with fresh cream. Coffee also perfect. The best part was enjoying them outside with the amazing view. Staff were friendly, would definitely return

I was a guest on the Kaipara River boat cruise and we stopped over at Shelly Beach from 12-2pm. I probably should not have listened to the Captain who told our crew not to all rush to the Jetty cafe for lunch to avoid a long queue. So I patiently went for a walk to explore and came back to the cafe just after 1pm. They were still super busy even after an hour and I was told I could only order chips because they wouldn't have enough time to get the orders out before the boat left. I was so disappointed, the food looked good but unfortunately I didn't get to order the hoki fish I really wanted to try. Really nice atmosphere with friendly staff and great beach views. Probably would have been 5 stars if I actually got my order in, oh well.

Nice atmosphere for having some down time. Food was very nice. Great views of beach from all locations. Friendly place.

This little spot is tucked out of the way just north west of Auckland. The beach privides a good view although it is a touch exposed to wind. The cafe itself isn't flash, it doesn't need to be. The food is well priced and the coffee is solid. Its another classic kiwi coastal cafe reminiscent of a small east cape town. The road out here is very entertaining, some tight corners and a few open straights with really nice views. Take care on the corners, a few large trucks about during the week and lots of boat trailers on the weekend.

Better than expected food and awesome coffee. May become our new quiet get away when we have a couple of hours spare

Visited on the Kaipara Cruise half day tour. Fish and chips was nice with the great view of the harbour.

What a lovely place! You have a perfect view of the peer and beach. There is a good sized free carpark. The prices are fair, and the portion sizes are generous. It's a great place to kick back and relax for a bit

Had a caramel latte and mocha, coffee was ok but quite milky, also shared the wedges between two of us, plenty of topping (sour cream and sweet chilli with bacon and cheese) they were lush!

First time at this cafe. Beautiful view just a shame about the barista. Absolutely worst experience I've had so far. She made me wait 20 mins for my double shot coffee which ended up being pretty much just milk ... got the order wrong and was very arrogant about the whole situation. Very disappointed. This place is very overpriced and I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here.

Myself and husband a very regular customers to the cafe we visit weekly if not fortnightly since moving to the area in August . We appreciate the recognition a few of the staff give us , we are usually always happy with food and service but as of lately had a few problems. First incident was just over two weeks ago we were served by what seemed, like a 10 year old girl who over charged us and then was quite rude seems inappropriate to have someone of such a young age meeting the customers. The second problem was last week my husband ordered the platter which he always gets and I ordered the CAB ( chicken avo bacon ) burger plus some coffees. His platter was inconsistent to every other one he's ever had it was much smaller my burger had no avo on it which was the whole purpose why I got it and there was a massive black hair in top Salad part. I had ordered 2 flatwhites but got one very watery half full coffee and one thick foamy over flowing coffee. . First time we have been dispointed , don't know what's going on whether it's new managers as we havnt seen the usual staff or what but not happy .

Just ate the best fish (hoki) and chips we've had in years! 😀 Well worth the drive to get there, shame about the weather. Glad we settled for the smaller portions, as there was more than enough on the plates to satisfy our appetites. What a find, a real treasure.
food is very pricey for the sizing. This is the only place you can buy anything from , they have done the place up nicely so it's a lovely place to eat & enjoy the view.

Just back from a delightful lunch with 10 friends. Sitting on the deck on the best day in Autumn , watching the boats and the fishermen was sublime.
One of the best fish and chip plates, very reasonably priced, helpful hosts, and who can ask for more.
Well worth the trip to the Kaipara.

Staff are generally unfriendly and rude. Unclean at times- average food, inconsistent quality. Nice setting however, a shame that seafood is not that fresh considering the proximity to one of the best fishing spots in Auckland.

have just been to the cafe @ Shelley Beach on the Kaipara....got a coffee & a scone....scone very nice, it's a pity that the attitude of the owners didn't match the cooking.....we took my daughter & grand-daughter...the owners were very rude, especially the woman who barked at us over some difficulty with the credit card...which was a transmission fault...not a fault of the credit card....no apology was forthcoming and she has left a very bad taste in our mouth...excuse the pun!!...why are people like this in business, especially with the public...without us she won't have a business and we won't be rushing back to go to the place.

Having made several visits to The Jetty we have never been disappointed. The food and service is top rate and there is a great selection of beverages. If you happen to be in the South Head area a visit to Shelly Beach and The Jetty is a must. The views across the Kaipara from the outdoor deck are fantastic and there is always something going on around the wharf and boat ramp. If you are bringing children there is a menu to suit them as well as safe playground within view.

My nephew held his wedding reception here and it was magnificent!
The food was stunning and delicious and heaps of it, even the chocolate fountain was a big hit. All the stops had been pulled out for the occasion by the owners.
Dancing outside, with the sea and pier, was so romantic.
You will not be disappointed by the food or welcome here.
We also called another day for the breakfast, which was huge and delicious!
