Review Chikos Restaurant And Cafe - Henderson

Bret Dragt
Chikos is a beautiful Pacific Rim Fusion restaurant situated on Lincoln Road, West Auckland. The customer service here is world class, with the food being really flavourful and delicious. On the two occasions I've dined here, I've been amazed at the exceptionally pretty presentation of the food, which tastes as good (if not better) than it looks. I'd highly recommend this place for a family dinner, a special date night, or to take someone when you want to surprise them and give them a very memorable experience. This place is amazing, and the staff are really lovely and thoughtful. The beef dishes, pork dishes, salmon dishes and desserts in particular have all been incredible the two times I've been here. Very keen to dine here again soon. Yum! 5/5 Stars! *****

My partner and I tried Chikos for the first time and are already excited to go back! The food was outstanding. The flavours, presentation and portion sizes were spot on. The staff were kind, informative and made us feel very welcome. I don’t usually leave reviews but Chikos deserves 5 stars and more. Thank you Chikos!

Really nice fusion of Japanese, Mexican and European flavours. Tried 4 different dishes and was impressed with all of them. Excellent quality, decent portion sizes, slightly pricey but well worth it. The presentation of the food especially was outstanding. Well worth going back to, and will try the desserts next time.

Pleasantly surprised as a skeptical diner. Great service and amazing food. Second time going here and it was as good as the first. Highly recommend.

I came by for lunch to try it out since I was in the area. There is a parking lot for the shops in the area. It isn't very big but there were a fair number of parking spots. There are two doors into the restaurant but it seems that the one on the left is the main entrance. The doors slide open but it's not automatic. They do have a fair number of tables on both sides of the building. The menu was quite interesting, with a range of Pacific and Asian inspired dishes. I grabbed the satay of the day as well as the pork belly inasal. The dishes were quite nice to look at. There were multiple components which made the plate a bit busy but the flavours were nice. The satay was lamb and it was grilled quite nicely. I enjoyed the pieces of wanton wrappers around the dish as well as the sticky black rice turon which was like a rice spring roll. Very interesting and nice with the satay. The pork belly inasal wasn't very fatty, which I was disappointed about. However, it was also quite juicy and not dry despite the lack of fat. It was reminiscent of a roast pork dinner with the root veges and mushroom sauce. They also did have a dessert cabinet but I had already left the table so possibly for next time. It was a really nice place for some tasty-looking and delicious dishes.

Dining at Chiko’s was such a pleasant surprise. Had dinner here and everything was just great - the food (taste and presentation), the staff, the atmosphere. We ordered the ordered oysters, seafood sisig sushi, and single pata grande. Everything looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Special shout out to the oysters that were so fresh and matched perfectly with the ponzu sauce and the crispy pata that was so tasty, juicy and crispy at all the right places. I’d say this is one of the best dining experience I’ve had in Auckland 💕highly recommended!

Amazing. I have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time! With its 800 high stars reviews! Was a wonderful birthday night. What was better than the beautiful delicious food. Gorgeous, kind, attentive, professional staff who really went out of their way to offer an exceptional evening. This barely exists anymore.

Amazing restaurant with the best service and food. Staff were attentive, polite, explained the menu and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The food was delicious and we scraped our plates clean 😊 Will definitely be coming back.

Chikos offered a medley of cuisines, from quesadillas and chili coconut curries to sashimi and other culinary influences. Their Pacific Rim dishes were plates of art. We dined here for dinner as a group of five, and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, eclectic menu and warm customer service. I ordered Bicolandia, a dish with thin slices of pork belly in a shrimp coconut sauce, served with ginger rice, tortilla and various vegetables prepared in multiple ways. It was a bit overwhelming when it first arrived, but I enjoyed discovering the dish by combining the different components in many ways. It was creamy, lightly crispy, tangy, a little spicy and moorish. The dessert menu was an interactive experience and introduced to us in person. Each dessert was presented as a sample for us to see first before we ordered. This was a very fun and clever way to engage with a menu. I ended up trying the Tea-Sa-Miru, a tiramisu inspired dessert with cream, sweet red bean and tea infused jelly, accompanied by a shot of matcha tea. It was interesting and tasty, but I ended up with dessert envy because I tried someone else's apple crumble dessert and couldn't stop thinking about theirs. Come here if you enjoy fusions and trying new things.

Really great treat to find Chikos in West Auckland. We were there on a very busy Saturday night, because they were full it was a noisy bustling place but the atmosphere is still very pleasant. Service was outstanding, the staff are friendly and attentive despite being obviously very busy. We were served amazingly fast, almost too fast if thats a thing as we wanted to savour our entree before the mains which came out almost straight after we finished. The food we had was another level for presentation and flavours. We had the Salmon and Pork Knuckle mains and enjoyed every mouthful. Its the upper end of our budget for a date night, but we thought it was well worth it and will be back, if for nothing else but to work our way through the dessert cabinet! ďż˝

Diamond in the rough. Worthy of a Michelin star, the food really is that good. A must dine experience on your journey if you are in the west Auckland area. A very good restaurant in its category, offering a menu prepared to a consistently high standard. Highly recommend the duck. The deserts, ......well..... let's not ruin the surprise.

There is a "hidden dining secret" in Henderson and it's named Chikos. Have been so many times and the food is perfection cooked with the passion that comes from Chef Roberto and the kitchen. The service is perfection that comes from Chiko and staff. Pictures on a plate and flavours that excite.

Absolutely one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I thought the price was getting up there but after the service, presentation and taste it was well worth the value. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Relaxed up market atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. Great menu, amazing food I had the lamb my husband the duck both delicious with flavours popping in your mouth. No room for dessert but we will be back. Thank you Chikos for making our Tuesday night special

This had to be one of the finest restaurants out west. Highly, highly recommend you try it! They catered exceptionally for a large 17 person party. Without fail every person was in raptures about the food! So glad we discovered this little gem! ďż˝

What a great little place to eat! I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful the service was. All 5 of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly. My specially made vegan meal was absolutely delicious. Would definitely go back again!

Food was delicious and tasty as, right from the first mouthful of entree, our mains, through to dessert. Big thumbs up to the talented chef. The staff unbelievably helpful and friendly. Absolutely go there again, well worth it.

Had lunch with friends. Food was very tasty and very impressive presentation. Good value for money. So loved their halo-halo for dessert without shaved ice which is how it is normally served in the Philippines. Halo-halo with a twist: 2 thumbs up!!! Chef Robert was very kind & accomodating so as his staff. Will highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely go back again.

Best culinary delights always. These guys never disappoint. Great service always with a smile. Started going here when it first opened. Great to see how much they keep growing. Sadly we have moved out of Auckland. But will always come back when visiting! Totally recommend

Had the most yummy food tonight from a restaurant in Henderson. The staff were amazing at their job, attentive and very friendly. We were served by several staff over the night and everyone if them had exceptional customer service. Well done ChikosRestaurantandCafe

Food is absolutely superb! The seafood chowder is exceptional. We went as a group of 6, everyone's meals were faultless. The scotch fillet was cooked perfectly. Service is very good, really attentive. Desserts are impressive. Some people might think it is expensive but no more than what you would expect to pay. Good wine list also.

Have now enjoyed both dinner and lunch menu and it is absolutely superb. Chikos has the best cuisine with world class presentation and service in Auckland.

This place is so beautiful. The food is so great. Been here 3 times and it’s always a great experience.

Interesting fusion cafe with a large selection of cuisines (I think there was jap, Thai, Malay, Euro, probably more). For lunch, We ordered the deep fried pork knuckle (single) and pork belly yakitori (entree) , with 2 coffees.<br/>The two dishes were just right for 2 people, coming to ~$25pp.<br/>The pork knuckle had crispy pork crackling but tender pork meat underneath, it was seasoned well and smoky. It came with mesclun salad with a light dressing, and a thick paste/sauce that resembled fish/shrimp paste and complemented the pork very well.<br/>The pork belly yakitori had large chunks of succulent meat and came with a tangy sweet sauce drizzled on top. There was another peanut satay sauce on the side, which gives it an added crunchy texture.<br/>The only downside was my cappuccino which I thought was a bit burnt and very bitter.

Okay so, went here with my family on the weekend (23/05/2020). I’ve had a bit of a mixed experience here hence the 3 star rating.<br/><br/>The restaurant area is quite right which meant they couldn’t really adequately distance people. Other restaurants have mostly taped a few tables in between other tables to ensure distance, they did not.<br/><br/>We were given a table at the corner at the far end. Good thing was it was far away and felt private. Bad thing was that you step up to the table, step down to the chair and then put your feet down and sit down. Getting out meant, standing on your chair, stepping up and then going down a step.<br/><br/>We’d ordered the entree tiger prawns; yakitori chicken and lamb shank. The yakitori chicken and tiger prawns were fantastic. Unfortunately the lamb shank was too salty. I completely get how busy they would have been after being open just a few days since going into level 2.<br/><br/>The drinks service was also a bit slow.<br/><br/>I would be keen to give this place another go, once things have calmed down a bit.

everything we ordered were very delicious. Good service. Will return

My favourite Auckland eatery (the other being Gemmayze St). The dishes are so bright and colourful and imaginative. Top picks are the pork knuckle, quesadilla and deconstructed sushi (so good!). Do yourself a favour and head out West one evening.

Came to Chikos to dinner with my partner as it was close to home. The service was really friendly and absolutely loved our meals! We ordered the prawns for starter which were so tasty with a sweet and sour flavour. I ordered the venison and my partner order the beef bourguignon, both were really good and cooked/presented beautifully. Would def come back!

Generous portions, delicious and beautiful food, impeccable service. What a treasure we accidentally stumble up on in Henderson. The waitress is really nice, I asked her if it’s okay to have chips instead of rice with the pork knuckle, which is not written on the menu, she kindly accepted and had my order right, such a perfect dining experience. Nothing else to say. I’ll be back.

Very nice food and great customer service although it was extremely busy and packed, they keep coming back to us to know if everything is ok or if we need anything, would recommend there chilly prawan entree and salmon in the mains, dessert collection is great,a must try

I can’t remember when was the last time me and my wife got really excited with a restaurant but definitely Chicos filled that gap, it’s so good at last I can promote a Filipino Fusion restaurant to my non Filipino friends who are asking me where to eat Filipino food.  It was quite a drive from our place but it was all worth it, I heard of this restaurant a lot of times but never bothered as it was from a different suburb from ours.  Filipino friends recommended it, an ex-colleague of mine also told me to try it (her brother is a chef there) and even Viva have rave reviews about it.

This place actually does fusion well! The dishes are nicely crafted, taste delicious, ingredients are fresh and to top it off, its aesthetically pleasing. Portions are big and the service is on point. Would recommend .

Came here for my birthday dinner. Probably one of the best restaurants around West Auckland. We had the cassava chips for entree, I was a bit disappointed though. I was expecting it to be similar to what you usually get in the Philippines, thin-cut and crispy. Instead we got cassava wedges. But the dipping sauce was amazing, so it’s all good. We both had the Crispy Pata for mains. Holy, I didn’t expect it to be a huge portion! Best. Crispy. Pata. I’ve ever had in a while. Salad was fresh, sauce was flavourful and crispy pata itself is crispy outside but fall of the bone inside. Good service and amazing food! Will definitely come back to try their desserts ❤️

Came here for the first time and was a lovely experience. Amazing foodand excellent service. From making a booking down to taking in feedback after the meal. Highly recommended!

Drove out all the way to west to check this joint out - it was worth it. Assiette platter was highlights of the night. It had a combination of meats a including seafood. You get to taste so many flavours on the one dish. Next was the self assembly toasted sisig seafood sushi which was basically a normal deconstructed sushi. Last main was crispy pata pork. Portion is very big and be warned, it is all deep fried fatty goodness. We couldn't even finish it and probably wouldn't get this again but good to try once. Desserts were so mouth watering. If you like coffee, try the affogato. The brownie was our favourite dessert.

We came here late night only for the desserts and wow What a surprise in Henderson area. Beautiful coconut creme brĂťlĂŠe that came out from heaven. Totally love it. They surely have an amazing dessert cabinet. Just the decoration that was not actually matches what the kitchen has to offer so 4/5.

closer to 4<br/>went in a big group to celebrate friend’s bday<br/>presentation amazing, X-factor was the waiter coming around with real sample for the dessert menu so we knew exactly what we are ordering<br/>given the price and presentation the taste for the main was a let down in comparison<br/>desert was good, and i did enjoy the seafood chowder

Wow never thought this would be the place I would find the BEST SALMON I have ever had. It is @zomatonz highest rated restaurant in Auckland. First impression I thought it specialised in grilled meat like Wildfire. The service was amazing and is on zomatogold as 1+1 food @zomatogold<br/>•<br/>Cured King salmon 10/10!! ($39.50)<br/>The best salmon I have had, the salmon melted in the mouth and the flavours were so balanced. Sweetness from the tausi dressing and little saltiness from the vegetables. I loved the agria potato and broccoli! What a stunning dish!!! Must come to try this!<br/>•<br/>Angus beef sirloin 8/10 ($44)<br/>The beef was slightly overlooked for medium rare. But the cheese potato's wrapped in filo pastry was 💯. Soft potato and cheese oozing out, just melted in the mouth and the crunch from the pastry 🤤<br/>

OMG WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE! Loved everything I had and already cannot wait to come back for a second time! The scallop is so meaty and juicy, and everything else on the plate just goes perfectly with it. The pork knuckle goes so so good with the sauce, it was crunchy and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The venison is not as perfect but still super tasty and much better than most of the venison I’ve had at other places. How is this even possible?! Perfect food with great portion size and the price is totally worth it. Will come back soon!!<br/><br/>Food 10/10 Service 8/10 Ambience 8/10

Came here for a birthday dinner with a group of friends.  Given that this place has a very high review, I had high expectation for this place.  The ambiance was quite good, dim lightings, spacious tables and quite clean.<br/><br/>Anyway on to the food, I ordered the Prime angus beef sirloin - medium rare ($44).  The presentation of it was good as I expected from a restaurant of this standard and the price it charged for it.  However I do not feel that the taste and the beef quality had met the level of presentation that it had given.  It did not taste bad, but there was no extraordinary factor that make it a special dish.  I think the star of this dish was the bacon cheese potato, which I enjoy very much and would actually order a plate of these if they do it.<br/><br/>After the main, a staff came with some dessert choices with some sample models of it.  The staff that did this was quite welcoming and friendly and I thought it was good that they did this here.  I picked their crème brÝlÊe ($15) as my choice for the dessert.  To be honest, I think the dessert was the best part of the meal, which they did very well in both the presentation and the taste.  <br/><br/>Overall, the experience was above average, the dessert was definitely a win for me.  Service was okay, but could be a little better, because I was not for the entire night got asked if I needed water or a refill at all.  I think they were too preoccupied with the drinks menu and the extras.  The presentation of the food was well done, and definitely good for some food photos.<br/><br/>Taste (main) - 3/5<br/>Taste (dessert) - 4.5/5<br/>Food presentation - 4.5/5<br/>Service - 3.5/5<br/>Ambiance - 3.5/5<br/>Value - 3.5/5

Very lovely restaurant. The food were fantastic with nice presentation. When you order desserts they bring out three trays for you to choose from. Simply can’t resist. A little bit pricy though.

Amazing food and great service! Everyone was friendly and happy to help! The snapper was cooked nicely and the ribs were good too! Would definitely come back!

Honestly if it wasn't for Zomato Gold I probably would not have gone here last night for dinner. Boy was I glad I did, this is hands down the best restaurant I have been to out to in West Auckland. Wife and I loved it. Had to book for an  early table at 5.30pm on a Friday, it fills up fast. Food is divine , staff are amazing and you are made to feel a little bit special. I had the Prime Angus Sirloin and wife had the Lamb Massaman.

MAGNIFICENT. Chikos made each dish taste better than they already look which made for an magnificent experience! Now that I review food, I often get asked where to eat in certain areas and this is definitely the first place I’ll have in mind for Henderson.<br/><br/>The Crispy Pata Pork Knuckle was so light, juicy and crispy - and when I thought it couldn’t be any better, the coco shrimp onion dip brought the whole dish to perfection. Even the Ash Coated Bistro Venison was cooked so well, but more importantly, it wasn’t even gamey! The Hot Ladle Chowder was obviously well thought out, with great combination of flavours and would definitely recommend this to make your whole selection of foods more ‘wet’. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the salmon but that was really good as well! It wasn’t dry and over cooked like at most places so if you’re a fellow salmon lover, give this a try as well.<br/><br/>The service was exceptional with such friendly and caring staff. If you can get through the Lincoln Rd rush hour madness, there’s plenty of parking and a great meal awaiting.

Excellent service from start to finish. Menu is an interesting mix of fusion food that would have you torn over which to pick, and you at the table having food envy of each other’s once the food arrives. Tasty interesting flavours, tender meat and interesting ingredients will have me back for sure! <br/><br/>Lastly, don’t forget about the dessert! Totally worth it! You will get a “life” sample menu of all the desserts. A pre-warning, it will not be an easy choice with the range on offer.
Ysabel Taya Regino
Nice atmosphere with a slightly modern vibe. Lovely service from the staff. Ordered Pata grande platter, ribs, chowder and pak choy vegetables. All the dishes were so tasty and flavourful. The pata was one of the best crispy pata’s I’ve had in Auckland. They brought a tray of the desserts to your table so that you can see what dessert you want to order. Such wonderful food and service! Highly recommend

Amazing food , amazing service ! The lady that served us was very pleasant and welcoming . We ordered the Garlic bread which was delicious . For the mains we had chicken , fish , beef and pork . All cooked to perfection . Desserts were the highlight as they brought all the desserts to our table and explained each and everyone ! Loved the experience and will surely be back !

First time coming here. Amazing service and exceptional food!!! We ordered the steak, massaman curry, ribs and venison along with the mango, spiced apple and affogato for desert. The meals were great portions the food tasty. The mushroom sauce was probably 1 of the best I’ve had and the wedgessssss WOWWWW

Have wanted to come here for a while and it was worth the wait. Came with a friend and our wee babies for lunch. We both got the pork knuckle. Good portion size and really delicious. Everyone was very friendly, incl Chiko herself who chatted with us and entertained the little ones. We were too full to have dessert but the options looked good and I will be back again to try them!

This was a great find in Henderson. The place has polite staff and a good atmosphere. The quality of food is above average and the portion sizes are quite substantial.

5/5 Taste<br/>5/5 Display <br/>4/5 Quantity <br/>4.5/5 Customer Service<br/><br/>Best Filipino Crispy Pata in NZ<br/><br/>Crispy Pata was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I have been to more than 5 different Filipino cuisines and it was truely the best textured pork hock ever. <br/>Crispy on the outside yet not hard, soft on the inside and it was pre cut by the chef so that I could easily eat without difficulty. <br/>Lamb Mussaman curry was also delicious I am definitely going to visit this place again.<br/><br/>

Visited after many years but good to know that service is still friendly and food is still tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant, book in advance or you may have to wait
Aha
The food was delicious and portions was big. We all enjoyed our food. The pork knuckle was amazing. But the staffs doesnt seem happy when we use our zomato gold coupon.
Stango
Service started off slow because we were using Zomato Gold and they were trying to verify it first before taking our order (I'm relatively new to using Gold but I'd only been asked for the code post service at my other restaurant experiences). After that we were advised that you can only order from the entree and main menu but not the platter on the entree menu, and also none of the specials on the seasonal menu. This made our choices a bit limiting. Personally I think the seasonal menu should be included in the offerings as they are the same price level as the other mains rather than being like a 'discount of the day' promotion.<br/>However after ordering our meals the waitress was really lovely and maintained a friendly manner throughout the service. Food was great. Gorgeous presentation. Teriyaki ribs maybe a little on the dry side but the crispy pork knuckle is worth going back for - the small touches like the pickles and sambal sauce, and satay sauce with rice were SO good.<br/>Dessert was a lovely experience. They bring all the options to your table to choose from. I eat with my eyes so it was nice to see what I'd be getting before ordering. Mango pudding and affogato were both really good. It was nice that they had a number of dessert options that were light rather than really chocolaty or sweet.<br/><br/>Overall a really nice food experience at Chikos. The quality of Chikos is a rarity for west Auckland but well worth it. I would love to go back again for a special occasion.
Jennifer
First time visiting and my gosh I don't know why I have left it this long to visit - didn't disappoint! Having read a few online reviews about the long wait time I feel was a bit unfair - seeing the dishes you can clearly see why. We visited on a Sunday during lunch so it was a bit quieter compared to the dinner service. Alot of effort is put into the dish presentation and incorporating all the different elements. Was worth the wait and will definitely visit again
I'm A Foodie
We had lunch here on Saturday because it is a high-rated restaurant near my house. Luckily, my choice is correct. We ordered mojito without alcohol, chowder, pork ribs, salad and two desserts. The pork ribs were crispy outside and tender inside. The dishes were really tasty, and my partner really loves the mojito. One of desserts we ordered is Alfogado with rich taste. Overall, I like Chikos and will definitely come again.

Had a good dining experience here last night, it was Friday night therefore it was busy. Staff was lovely and attentive. We had venison and sirloin as our mains, and triple chocolate and tiramisu for dessert. All were incredible, except for the overcooked sirloin but the taste is good. Their live dessert menu is definitely unique. Second time here and will be visiting more often.

Absolutely incredible. Flavour pairings for the Valentine's set menu perfect and the first restaurant to actively ask if we had any allergies. Fiance has a nut allergy and they were amazingly accommodating. Can't recommend enough and will certainly be back!

Beautifully presented food! Tasted amazing. Meat was so tender and dishes full of flavor. Loved our experience. Will definitely recommend to all.

This is the best European Asian fusion place we have ever been too.The taste of the food gets better each time and never have failed to impress us. We have tried all of their menu items. Desserts are to die for! Pork knuckle, pork ribs, beef rendang etc etc. Definitely worth getting there and you will be amazed. 😊

It’s been a while since our last visit and the resto never let us down. The seafood platter entree was indeed good for two for me and my daughter, while wifey got the koshi which is composed of skewered beef and lamb with green salad. The mains then followed right after we finished the entree. Pork ribs for me was yum, opted to have rice on the side. Wifey got the crispy pata (pork knuckles) and my daughter’s was the entree pork belly. We ended up really full with no room for dessert.
Louise
Came here last night without booking, although it wasn’t busy when we came (7pm), I would recommend you to book because by 7:30pm the place was full. <br/>Absolutely love this place, the portions are very generous, and tastes amazing. In my pictures I’ve included the Crispy Pata and the teriyaki ribs. The food here is a fusion between Japanese/Filipino and is definitely a unique experience.<br/>Absolutely love how they bring the desserts to you at the table and explain each dessert to you, so there’s a full understanding and you know what you’re going to get. Alternatively you can even bring home desserts. We wanted to try the Halo-halo as we had heard amazing things about it; but unfortunately they sold out. (Will have to go back during a lunch service to hunt it down)<br/><br/>One of the owners (Chikos - the lady the store was named after) served us and was absolutely amazing. She made us feel very welcome.

I love this restaurant!!! Portion size is so generous, delicious sauces and condiments really compliment the dish. I had a sushi this time but the pork knuckle is amazing, highly recommended for first time visitor.

I used to love this place. The food is great, the hospitality was amazing. My review has always been a fiver for this restaurant. However, today (21/04/2019) I was left with utmost disappointment and disgusted with how my mates and I was treated. I used to love how friendly the staffs were especially when they introduced the desserts menu to us. I felt that it was their specialty and I appreciate that a lot. However, today when we asked for the dessert menu from a blond lady, she rudely told us that there wasn’t any dessert menu and we must pick from the fridge. So I asked her I thought it was a norm that they will show us and explain to us every desserts on the display dessert menu. She gave loads of excuses and refuse to bring the menu over. She then ended up saying that we had to wait 5-10 minutes for the display dessert menu. I felt that it doesn’t make sense because 1. They usually show us the dessert menu and 2. The display menu is literally sitting in the fridge, there’s no need to wait for 5-10 minutes for it. 3. Her rudeness is definitely not acceptable. I then approached the other staff for the dessert menu. I saw him taking the display menu from the fridge. While he was approaching towards our table the blond lady (in which we firstly asked her for the desserts menu) told him to keep the desserts menu away. We felt discriminated and wondering why was her attitude toward us and the other customers so different. I don’t want to make a big scene as I used to love dining at this place, so I then went over and spoke to the manager about it, hoping that the manager could speak to the blond haired lady about her attitude. I guess at the end it was all was good. I’m sorry I have to change my ratings for this place. Don’t get me wrong, the place still offers great food and most of the staff’s are really respectful, very friendly and great, but just be careful with the blond haired waitress. She don’t show even a little bit of professionalism in her work and I do not want any other potential customers to feel the way my mates and I were treated today.

Chiko’s is definitely one of my favourite restaurants!I highly recommend this place, best presentation and the food is always amazing!!!!!!!

My friend had her wedding reception here and it was awesome, especially the selection of food. The owners were present and both are very friendly and accommodating. Came back with friends and family and still we were impressed. Excellent food, place and service.

Amazing dinner out with the hubby last night. Outstanding and so delicious. You rock. The mains <br/>and entrees were superb. The service was great too. Will definitely be back❤️

I’m sorry but I officially give the worst coffee award to Chikos. Ordered an Americano. It tastes like water with citric acid. I had two sips then only and couldn’t continue. <br/><br/>I would highly recommend that you change your coffee supplier. <br/><br/>

The entrees were so good!<br/>The seafood chowder was to die for.<br/>For the mains the chikos beef rendang and braised lamb shank were tasty but the entrees were differently the highlight.<br/>All the deserts were sampled to us so we could pick and choose, it's such a cool idea.<br/><br/>

Thanks Cheiko and Robert we love your work!<br/>Always something new to try and always the best presentation and beautiful flavours!👍👍👍👍👍<br/>Hard to say what meals we love the most because it’s all great!

Great place to have an after-works drinks and dinner. Me and 7 of my colleagues went to this place recently and we were completely flabbergasted by the service. Although quite expensive, it was an irresistible blend of Asian fusion cuisine with amazing taste. Ambience of the place was quite soothing and lit as well. Orders were promptly taken and we didn't have to wait much for recieving our food/drinks. The Meal portions for mains were quite filling. Owners were also flexible to leave the doors open till 10:30pm however their official closing time is 10pm for the dinner service. Unique approach of showing the desserts on the trays and bringing us samples of all the desserts, was a masterclass move which was appealing and tempting to get your hands on them. 💯<br/>

Superb food and lovely plating. Duck leg confit is a must try! Nice marketing strategy too for showing a sample of all dessert options. I love the passionfruit cheesecake. Yum!

Beef rendang with nasi lemak is really good. Lamb shank was ok. Fish and chips is ok. Service is great! thanks to the team and owner. keep it up!

Chikos is an Asian fusion restaurant. We were there for a lunch on a weekday. We chose the toasted Sisig seafood sushi & the crispy Pata pork knuckle, thinking we could have dessert after the mains. The sushi came in a bowl with snapper, prawn, arrow squid, tuna, salmon & toasted nori sesame rice. The squid was not visible, but the manager said it should be there, possibly finely chopped. (Well, the texture of squid is easily detectable.) The knuckle came with green salad, mayonnaise & shrimp paste - an excellent paste. It was really nice & the skin was crispy. We were full & had to go without the desserts.<br/>(Food - 4.5/5; Service - 4/5; Ambience - 4/5)<br/>Visited on 12 July 2018

Totally Love Chikos! friendly staff, amazing food!! You definitely get your moneys worth! 😊 Highly recommend, I will definitely be back for more 😉

Amazing food - the flavours are strong and well balanced. The presentation is 5 stars and the price is really good. A similar meal in the city would be $200+. We had a dinner for two, wine mains and dessert for just under $150. Highly recommended!! Service is attentive without being intrusive. I was really impressed with our waitress who could explain all the desserts - there are so many and theyre so intricate! Definitely coming back with a bigger party!
Jeffie
We were in the area and had a casual lunch with friends. Service is nice and friendly. Ambience is also nice and modern. We a flat white, Hot Ladle Chowder, Duck & Chips, Minute Steak Black Angus Sirloin, Pork & Prawn Quesadillas and a couple of cabinet desserts. Everything was delicious and came out in good time. Food is good here but there's nothing really enticing me back.

Such a beautiful and yummy restaurant, the food is amazing and the staff were so polite and helpful! Their lemon lime bitters are the best I’ve had and their mango pudding is to die for, definitely would recommend this place for everyone!
Caitlin Noonan
Oh my goodness I am in love with this restaurant! The presentation of the food was amazing and it all tasted absolutely divine ❤ pictured is the garlic bread side which was shared as an entree, then the enchiladas and sushi entrees which we had as mains and the most delicious chocolate dessert that I cant remember the name of! Most definitely worth the price and I will be back for sure!
Long Hua
very bad service, wait for more than 10mins and asked two staff but still not taking my order. food also very average, restaurant full of smoke and dont think will come back again.
Ann Ross
Went there last night for dinner. Our first visit. Food was mana from heaven. Chef has talent. Service above and beyond. One of our party of 5, had special dietry requirements. nothing too much trouble for friendly, attentive staff. Had the best meal in ages. Thanks Chikos for a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely return.

One of the best restaurant in auckland! Generous portions, reasonably priced and nice ambience. Very talented chef/ owner running the place.
Vanessa
Went there yesterday to celebrate grandma's birthday after reading all the good reviews. Not to mention this place was way out of our house. Food was good but there are some misses like the wedges that came with the fish and chips were too tough for an elder and a kid to eat, burger was good but about salty. Service was average especially during dessert serving. We ordered them at the cabinet and it came 15mins later. Mains however came out pretty fast. Overall it was average for us. We will still go back to try other food on the menu after seeing another table having some pretty good looking food on their table.

This is a little gem in Henderson! Lovely friendly service, fantastic fresh tasty food, interesting flavours. The prawns were delicious, the skewers were tender, desserts were so wonderful it would be hard to choose just 1! We will be back 😃
Lukas
In a word - Superb! Food to the highest level of detail, delicious and well executed in every part of the meal. We had the Casava chips, Yaki and Prawns and everything was spot on. Beautiful finished with a house Pinot! We will be back again soon to try more of the menu.

In an unexpected detour to Henderson I ended up at this discreet restaurant, only in an attempt to avoid all the junk food chains nearby.<br/><br/>What I discovered was a jewel - a family business with excellent and homely staff that cook up some of the best dishes you'll find in Auckland, presented in a way that puts luxury restaurants to shame.<br/><br/>I've eaten at a lot of places, but Chikos definitely surprised me the most in every regard.

Staff amazing! Food amazing!<br/>Amazing dessert!<br/>Great portion sized meals and plating is beautiful as well. Been there several times now and have had the most amazing meals and enjoyable time there.

This place is amazing.. food was beautiful so many different flavours and they worked well, presentation beautiful, we sat by the kitchen and the chefs so quite main chef talked and everyone knew what they were doing.. waitress lovely very pleasant place love it!!
Love The Experience, Love The Brand.
Love this place. Good to have a place like this out in west Auckland. Food you want that you can’t cook at home any night of the week. Great deserts, if u like a punch of sweetness at the end. Happy to pay for food like this.

Brilliant food . Simple ingredients many components done perfectly creates heavenly experience that tingles all your senses . <br/><br/>Wonderful front of house team; wonderful , jolly and friendly. <br/><br/>Best kitchen team creating miracles on a plate .

<br/>Delicious meal! Started with the sharing platters. Mains became a battle of pork - pork knuckle and pork ribs. Both were very well cooked and presented. My first time here, definitely not my last.
Chenzah
I've never seen ribs plated so beautifully, and taste wise some of the best I've ever had. The deserts are also out of this world and worth saving space for. This place is worth driving out west just for it.
Raymond Hanlon
Had an Amazing dinning experience with the food here, the steak was perfect and paired very well, loved the sides.<br/>The duck and tart was so well cooked, it was hard to keep the tender duck on your folk.<br/>Food was possible best in the waitakeries.<br/>Besides being a little on the pricy side, the food was well worth it.<br/>The only down side was the tables the the cross bars underneath them, banging my knees on them and keeping me at a distance from the table.<br/>Having multiple servers coming to the table made it abit confusing for the staff and annoying to repeat ourselves.<br/>Over all was a good eveing by all.<br/>
KELBEAN25
Dined with 5 adults and 2 children. Amazing experience! Beautiful food, friendly service, portions are very substantial..my husband and I shared an entree and had a main each without sides and were stuffed. We are big eaters. My daughters 2 and 4 shared a kids fish and chips. The fish and chips dish for kids was too fancy for my 4 year old but my 2 year old ate heaps. Salmon dish delicious, my husband had rendang which was also very nice. Such great flavours and pretty presentation.

Chikos deserves nothing less than a 5.<br/><br/>Great ambiance. Friendly and attentive staff. Fresh food with awesome presentation. Massive portions. Reasonable price. Enormous portions (Yes, redundancy intended).<br/><br/>Staff were very kind and looked after us. We appreciated how they checked on us even after all the dishes were served.<br/><br/>Food highlights:<br/>A. STARTER: Toasted sisig seafood sushi - deconstructed fresh tuna sashimi with a Filipino sisig twist. It had just the right amount of seasoning not to overwhelm the fish. Veges were crunchy, too.<br/>B. Crispy pata pork knuckle - the best dish I tasted in Auckland so far. Skin was divinely crispy, while there wasn't too much fat separating the skin and meat. Their shrimp sauce was cleverly done. Its a mixture of fermented shrimp paste and something else to make it less stinky, thus more attractive to non-Filipino diners. Peanut sauce, meanwhile, is best for those who are not willing to try the fermented shrimp dip.<br/>C. Bacon poached eggs benedict - we were already so satisfied with the first two dishes that we found this the least spectacular dish. Nothing wrong with how it was cooked and presented, though.<br/>D. DESSERT: Mango pudding - a bit too sweet, but after having that perfect dish in crispy pata, nothing could ruin our dining experience.<br/><br/>Having hot Japanese rice tea to drink was a great choice, to help digest the fatty meal we had. Lol<br/><br/>Would definitely come back for more.<br/><br/>

Came here last minute a hour before closing, still managed to order, receive our food n chill all before closing! 👌👍 <br/><br/>Had the Curry Coco Mussels for entree with some Garlic Bread and oh my! First bite, and my face said it all! Could tell the mussels were fresh and the batter that was on them was nice and light! Definitely a must try if you love seafood! Also ordered the Duck & Tart and Pork Knuckle for mains. We were really impressed with everything. The meals, the presentation, atmosphere and especially the customer service. We were checked upon by multiple people whom all had smiles on their faces and were just genuinely nice people. Will definitely be coming back for all of the above AND dessert!

Fusion food with nice fine dining experience. Had lunch recently here and found it great. The setup is nice. Service is okay. Food is good. Ordered combination of foods including the fish and chips, burger and salads. Overall is nice.

Great atmosphere delicious food ! Ordered duck and lamb shanks which were cooked to perfection and well presented. Service was great! Love how you get to choose the desserts from trolley😍 would visit again soon
Vee
Highly recommended! Excellent meals and services! The presentations are awesome! From starter, mains to desserts! Everytime I go here and bring friends, we always enjoyed it! The owners are very good and professionals.. I rate the food as high end! -Vee ❤️

Heard so much about this place. The ambiance and feel is great. While menu is true to its being a fusion restaurant, it may have lost some of the authenticity and uniqueness of its Filipino selection (maybe too much taste and flavour for my Filipino tastebud and me being accustomed to other cuisines having lived outside the Philippines for a while). The dessert selection display was good, the look and presentation were ‘all the same’ though for me.
❤️Irene
BIG PORTION FOOD! Friendly staff!! Attractive dessert!!!! Three reasons to make me definitely come back to Chikos next time😎 It is my very first time to try philippine cuisine😊awesome experience

Decided to go to Chikos from a friends suggestion, Friday night, steady but not packed, warm friendly professional greeting on arrival.<br/>Start with a beer, entrees of skewers pork/lamb/beef was a great choice with variety of sauces.<br/>Mains Salmon and I had the ribs which one an award for being the best!!...very well presented meals full of flavour. Who would have thought there was so much meat looking at the small ribs, it wow......what a mix of flavours with the candied ribs with meringue, kimchi I think, pickle chutney stuff, salad with edible flowers. Just so good!!<br/>The salmon with the sauce we couldn’t identify really worked and my wife loved it.<br/>Excellent service, staff very attentive with a bit of banter for good measure.<br/>Definitely recommend<br/>Thanks Team Chiko

One of my favourite places. Mouthwatering flavours, absolutely de-lish menu range, and their food presentation is always amazing. Always want to keep going back for more. Would eventually like to eat my way through their superb menu.
XED 🐘
I love Chikos! The food may be a bit pricey but the dining experience was truly extraordinary. For the main, I had the Crispy Pata Pork Knuckle and it was the best! My plate was just bursting with fusion of international flavours – think about a chemistry experiment when you mix all sorts of chemicals and you end up with something remarkable.<br/><br/>The pork meat was cooked until tender, the crackling was crispier than I thought, and the garden salad was freshly prepared. Serving size was appropriate for the price and the presentation was a perfect A.<br/><br/>Here’s more, the reason that I actually went to this restaurant was because I heard a lot of praises about their Crispy Cassava Chips and I was not disappointed at all. The chili-cream mayo dipping sauce was really yummy.<br/><br/>The restaurant also has a wide selection of mouth-watering desserts, and the most striking for me was the Halo-halo Delight, which is very popular in my home country. I love how they made their own version of this and it was a success. <br/><br/>The restaurant has a very relaxed feel and I love how the staff members flash their smiles and check on you from time to time. <br/><br/>Chikos is highly recommended.

Beautiful intimate dining experience. Food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing Pricing reflected in quality of food. Amazing! Staff were very friendly and helpful and had a great knowledge of what was being served.

The best on the west!! Great service and amazing food, loved it!! The seafood chowder entree was definitely my favourite. The mains were just as good and the desserts are delicious!

Been there 3 times now. 1st time had the thai pork ribs and braised beef to share between 2. Was so nice, pork was tender and tasty, beef was full of flavour. I like how the dishes are designed to be shared and can also have it to yourself if you want. 2nd time back to have the toasted sisig sushi, so good, alot of fish~ The dessert were introduced to the table, not on a menu, very lovely, all looks good~<br/><br/>Loved their food both time hence decide to bring my parents back. The 3rd time the menu has changed. There wasn't much choice for us, hence didn't enjoy the food us much. The lamb shank was tender, but the seafood platter was slightly greasy. Don't know if they will keep changing the menu.

Simply outstanding food, exquisitely presented, flavourful and imaginative Asian fusion. Delightful wait staff. What a treasure in West Auckland.
Leanne Sea
Great service, Great Food, Great Ambiance. One of the best Fusion style meal that I have had. Creative flavours, Beautiful plating with an affordable price. The Pork Pata was phenomenal, a not to be miss if there. Would have been 100% if the food have came out a bit quicker.

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my visit to Chikos. I think this is one of the few restaurants in West Auckland that offers beautifully plated dishes in the style of more fine dining options in the city. The atmosphere is fantastic and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly, welcoming and the service was absolutely faultless. I had the fish of the day, snapper, and it was exceptional, right down to the garnish. A bit pricey, but the food is reflective of that. I will definitely be back!
Amy Avison
The people here are so friendly, welcoming and polite. I have been to chikos before tonight and was so impressed. I'm not sure if the menu has changed since I was last there but I wasn't really impressed with mine or my partners main meals. The meals were smaller (they're not priced small) and I didn't like the taste of over half of it. The guava juice is good. I feel bad because the people are lovely but I won't be visiting chikos again. Could just be personal preference in flavours...

C and I went here as we received a voucher for our wedding. Immediately we were greeted and seated. We would recommend booking prior as they tend to get booked up on Saturdays. <br/><br/>I ordered a lemon, lime and bitters while C decided to be adventurous and order the house pomegranate soda. <br/><br/>As we were starving we decided to order our entrees and main together. We ordered the Toasted Sisig Seafood Sushi, Roast Freedom Pork Belly, Black gold angus beef scotch fillet and the Crispy Pata Pork Knuckle. We also ordered some Casava chips. <br/><br/>We didnt wait too long for the entree to arrive. The roast freedom pork belly was extremely tender and juicy. Definitely one of the best pork bellys C and I have tasted! C loved the toasted sisig sushi as the rice was lightly toasted so it gave it a crunch. It was topped with salmon and tuna sashmi, prawn and a tasty fish with fresh cucumber. Playful dish as you take one of the toasted nori and fill it up with what you want. A definite must try we think. <br/><br/>The crispy pata pork was delicious. It is a big serving that can easily fill two people. The pork was crispy yet moist on the inside. Lastly the beef scotch was flavourful however didnt stand out like the rest.<br/><br/>Overall we had a fabulous time and enjoyed the Filipino twist. Definitely would recommend. <br/><br/>

Been visiting Chikos since they opened and have returned several times with friends and family. Have never been disappointed with the service and meals, and guests I've brought along have consistently exclaimed how lovely the food is, generous servings, and the warm and friendly service and staff. This is my safe bet restaurant for West Auckland. If you want a memorable, good experience, book at Chikos.
John Phillip
Excellent atmosphere, we only came in for coffee and dessert, friendly staff & excellent service. We ordered Tea-Ra-Misu. Such a healthy option from a range of exquisite array of desserts
Mae
Celebrated my birthday there last year and looking forward to celebrating it there again this year. Lovely and warm service, we were attended to right away. Food was absolutely divine!!! Can't wait for the next dine in experience!
Carmen Fernandes
The place is a rip-off.  We received the entrees quite fast but the mains took forever and when it did arrive it was a huge disappointment. The mains cost between $28 - $38 for a tiny portion which will not fill up any adult. We were very disappointed with this place which is over-rated.
Naweed Qadir
Very nicely decorated restaurant with some authentic Japanese dishes. It has now expanded and always found busy with customers. It's best to book a table before arriving their. Bit pricey but the tasty foods justify the cost.
Carol
A beautiful & delicious oasis out West. Great attentive service. We were impressed by our surroundings even before the food came. Ordered a shared starter; 2 mains - lamb & pork belly. Everything was amazing! I definitely agree with other reviews. Great portions, good value for money & yummy food. Not sure if my photos capture the awesomeness of the food. We went there to celebrate a special event & being in such a great local restaurant was the cherry on top
Rhea Kirstienne Chang
Amazing food, especially their desserts. There's a wide range of food choices. The price range is reasonable for the food they're serving. The ambience is good and location is nice. Would be nice to have more parking spaces.
Claudine Anne Tan
If you are looking for an asian fusion to satisfy your palette then this is the place to dine. Great service from friendly staff. Ambiance is stunning.
Vanessa Gao
This is my second time to chiko for dinner and it was great as usual. It was only me and a friend so we got the sig sig sushi and prawn quesadillas. Both dishes were commended by staff and were perfect for sharing. We arrived at a good time since the kitchen wasn't busy, so both food arrived at the same time. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere.

One of the best in the west!!!<br/>love, love, love this restaurant!!!  Ambiance , art deco, staff genuine helpfulness & attitude & most especially FOOD QUALITY & TASTE & PRESENTATION, Magnificient!!!  all qualities Ticked.<br/><br/>LONG LEAVE & SERVICE CHIKOS!

I have been here many times and tried many dishes on the menu. Every meal has been exceptional, right down to the garnish. Ive tried a few of the desserts and they were all yummy. The decor is great and they have done a good job of matching the style to the Asian fusion menu. Staff were friendly and on the ball. Easily as good or better than the top restaurants in Auckland!
Alicia
A lovely fusion of Filipino and Japanese food. We ordered the special for the day, which was the crispy chicken and crispy pork. It came with a colourful salad and seasoned rice, with some sauces and extra spices. The portions were very generous and it was actually quite difficult to finish the meal. It would have been nice to sample some of the lovely looking desserts available, but frankly we were much too full. Would recommend for sure - nice flavours that work well together.
Lilly Christine
Came here because of the reviews I have read about Chikos! and wow! it was amazing! the place has a really nice decor and atmosphere to it, the staff were super friendly and welcoming and the service was 10/10! On top of that the food was amazing I got quesadillas and my partner got the pork, both were very pleasant to eat and the presentation was also 10/10! would highly recommend this place!

Been here multiple times. Love this place. The chefs are lovely and the owner is friendly. Great food, great flavours and great portion sizes. They have an ever changing menu.<br/><br/>Only downside is their service. Very very slow and inattentive. People they would come after us would be served first. Takes ages for orders to be taken despite non bust periods.
Samantha Wintour
For the price of the food and the area, its amazing, you get so much food and its presented so beautifully. I go there often and will recommend it to anyone :)
Jasmine Tay-Paepae
Have been meaning to try this place for quite a while now. The service was very good and friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered the famous crispy chicken kawali and the pork belly. How they present the food on the plate is very creative. Had the triple chocolate mousse for dessert. Would definitely come back here to try the other desserts.<br/>
Sky Amorangi Nicholls
Ive been here twice and each time left really happy.  The location is pretty averge, but the interior is nice with a lot of natural light during the day.I had the pork bao bun for my entree and it was good  . For my main I got the pork knuckle  the presentation was pretty  and the peanut sauce went well with the meat. For dessert i got the mango dessert. The waitress was really helpful in describing the food for me and my mother . I really reccomend this place for a special occasion .
Seamus M.
Second time here! Such a nice place to hangout. The food is beautiful loved everything ordered 😁<br/>Would definitely comeback. Service is good friendly and helpful. Food wasn't rushed out which was great as my friend and I can have a good catch up!<br/><br/>Update: visited again review stays the same. Good food, lovely service. Except this time had dessert, and it was outstanding.
Coffeeomg
Totally fabulous. I mean the Cronut!...no, it's almost everything...from the inviting environment to the yummy & well presented food on my plate...this restaurant definitely upgraded Henderson area foodies' taste. A good place to be for catching up with friends and family.
Emily Cao
Definitely worth trying! We celebrate our special day over there! The meal is fantastic, and service is nice! 100% love tiramisu, the best ever!
Rachel
Colourful, textured and intriguing. The fusion of different cuisines makes this restaurant stand out from other Auckland establishments. Will be back!
Chris Anthony
The presentation of the food here at Chikos is excellent. Staff are attentive and friendly.<br/>I ordered Sisig seafood sushi and garlic bread. I got 4 large pieces of garlic bread which was a decent amount. The manager Chiko has always given me exceptional customer service.
Mia
The presentation of the food here at Chikos is excellent. Staff are attentive and friendly.<br/>I had a wonderful time here with friends and family.

Me and my Family went here for dinner, and the food was amazing. They have a set menu that was well priced. My mum had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection, it was simply amazing. My little sister has the chicken and it was just as amazing, it was moist and full of flavour. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfecting, however the only thing was the potatoes were a little undercooked, but apart from that it was perfect. The desserts were amazing and very rich. Was simply amazing!!!
Chelsea
Thank god for Chikos. Dining options were limited out West until Chiko and her husband came along to brighten up the Lincoln Road dining scene. Absolutely amazing every single time, have been here more than 15 times and never had a bad experience. Get the wedges, you won't regret it.
Jojo Jewl
I have dined at many well established restaurants and Chikos has been one of the best experiences so far, better than the Hilton in Queenstown. <br/>Excellent staff who were passionate about quality service. Food was made efficiently and WOW it looked like the ultimate works of eatable art. Friendly people where nothing was too much of an issue . Food was very well priced for what you get. We couldn't eat all our meals and we are both keen eaters. <br/>Looking forward to showing this place off to my chic friends.<br/>I didn't post photos as our photos don't do justice.
Simone Cooper
Went here for dinner with 5 other people. Wonderful service, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. The steak was perfectly cooked and had a beautiful sauce. Ribs fell of the bone. Lamb shanks and quesadillas also thoroughly enjoyed. The wedges were the best I have ever tried. We had the tiramisu, triple chocolate mousse and chocolate tart for dessert all were fantastic. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Up there with the best in Auckland👌🏼

Wow!  What a find - and in all places Henderson!  Not that I have anything against Henderson, it's just not the area you would expect to find such a phenomenal dining experience.<br/><br/>Where to start?  The service was absolutely first class.  Friendly, fast, helpful.  The food?  Made with love, incredible presentation, taste, value to money.  I mentioned to my wife that it was just as good as a certain fine dining restaurant in central Auckland we had been to last week.<br/><br/>I think the chef might also be owner, such is the quality of food and presentation.<br/><br/>The wine prices are great too - $59 for a Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay is hardly expensive.<br/><br/>Unfortunately we didn't have time for desert, but they looked absolutely incredible.<br/><br/>We shall be back - probably again and again!
Joan Cecille De Guzman-Lomibao
My friend celebrated her birthday here last night... It was our first time to visit Chikos... The place is so inviting and the staff are friendly and accomodating... The serving of the food is worth the price... Taste of the food is really good... We were all full but we tried their famous "SUNGKA DESSERT", selection of all their desserts and placed it in the sungka... Overall rating: 5... Highly recommended... 👍🏼
Knorisheats
One of the best and most under-rated restaurants in Auckland. Casual dining with fine-dining quality. <br/><br/>I've been here so many times and also had our wedding dinner here and they did not disappoint. Owner and executive chef Roberto, was great in executing the menu my husband and I had wanted and prepared more than enough food for everyone.<br/><br/>My favourite from the night was the pan-friend salmon with kumara dill mash, grilled eggplant and balsamic and ponzu emulsion.  I also recommend trying their out of the ordinary bento-boxes they offer during lunch.<br/><br/>If you're looking for great service, high-quality food that is different from the usual asian cuisine you've had and a not so expensive price, I highly recommend this place.
Tania Ostick
This is my fav little restaurant out west! I will find any excuse to go here. The food is full of flavour and the presentation is almost to beautiful to eat. Love the range of delicious and beautiful desserts!!
Tet
Food took a while to arrive but enjoyed the sushi where you could pile your own sushi from the platter of ingredients, the pork knuckle is always a favorite! And the pork ribs was a great big serving too,we just ordered these and it was enough to feed four. Also had an amazing array of mouth-watering desserts!
Jhk
Not 100% sure why this cafe gets all the praises. They don't have basic food you would expect from a cafe to start with, and the menu is full of fusion dishes which I feel a bit over-priced. If you are an adventurous eater who aren't afraid to try something new, this is the place for you. But I tell you, All the menu seem to lack 2% from being gorgeous.
Karl Evangelista
A good range of dessert. The chef makes them from scratch and may I say they will definitely sweeten you up. I love chocolate and would recommend the triple chocolate.
Hung Quoc Bui
Woow. ... we go there 2 nights in a row. Went there 1st time for dessert, got blew away by their dessert platter. Went back there the day after for 3 course dinner, and I can say that this is the best place to go to for best value for money and great food. Will be back there again.
Sarah Clarke
Love this place, the staff are very friendly and hospitable. Our food has always been served in a timely manner, well presented and fresh.  It is a little gem our West
Anna Fern
This place is fancy enough to be categorized as a cafe. Food was fantastic!  Although the quantity of food during lunch time seems more than dinner time, it didn't disappoint us in terms of taste.   Presentation of food was very attractive and service was quick.  I have been to this restaurant twice already and will definitely come back again.
Toru Tres
Been here for lunch. 25 people all together and it all went sweet as. Food are good, customer service is excellent, and the place is inviting and feels comfortable to be at.<br/>Owner is very friendly and accomodating, it shows that her love for food and service is her passion.
Jessica McCormack
Great food and service. We went for the lunch bento (the beef curry) which is great value for money. I was so full afterwards. Will definitely go again.
Fyona Fang
I came here with my friends by chance. The taste here is so good. I ordered a duck breast, that is so yummy. It is surprised that the side is kimchi and it is good! A little bit different with the traditional Korean kimchi but still nice. But the dessert is too sweet for me.
Becka.k.jones
Lovely family dinner for 11. Great entrees ..big meals great flavours ... Everyone well satisfied. The scallops with pork belly was the highlight dish.
Eva Zhu
Came here tonight when it wasn't too busy yet, our waitress was very lovely and patient. Despite only having a few people in the restaurant our food took a while to get to the table. <br/>We got the ostrich fillet, venison, famous Renang (I think that was the name?) and the stuffed free ranged chicken breast. <br/>My ostrich had an interesting new taste to it, definitely a love or hate taste, a new adventure for sure. <br/>The chicken breast tasted very average and had quite an Asian twist to it.<br/>The venison was my favorite, seated to absolute perfection! <br/>The famous Renang tasted like pork in soup, with a kick of spice. <br/>The Agria potato wedges were lovely with the sweet Thai chilli aioli, will definitely be back for more!
Ian Robinson
Don't bother going if you after 8.kitchen is closed. Try the Indian next door. Very obliging and really nice food. Clearly a different level of desire to be a service
Nathalie
Came here Sunday night at around 6:40PM. Not much people and we were able to get a table fairly quickly. Ambiance is great not your usual west Auckland restaurant a little fancy! Waiter was very prompt and friendly, we ordered Rendang, salmon, lamb, pork leg and halo halo desserts..Order took soooooooo long (50minutes) the waiter did warned us that it will take long as the kitchen is busy (but looking around there wasn't much people in the resto?). After waiting 50mins our order came beautifully presented! I was very impressed. The food were hot and very yummy although I found the food a little over priced in comparison to similar restaurants...BUT overall great service and lovely food and will be back preferably at lunch time instead of dinner as cheaper price and same food menu.
L.E.N.S
What I love most about this restaurant is the extremely friendly service from the owner herself Chiko, who is always hospitable and catering throughout your visit. I came here for dinner tonight and as always, settled myself in to one of the dining booths in this elegant and slightly tropical-feeling restaurant. <br/><br/>The menu is Pacific fusion, so there are a lot of different flavours and food options.. In particular, a ton of different meat options from ostrich to duck to venison. We ordered the cassava chips which are an absolute must try, as well as the salmon, chowder, scallops and lamb ribs. I would definitely recommend the chowder entree - the chowder itself is so fresh and creamy, and comes with a delicious side of smoked marlin on bruschetta. All dishes are stunningly presented. Wait times are usually pretty short, and although prices are a little on the higher end, it is good quality for money. <br/><br/>Overall, would recommend a visit to this classy restaurant at least once, you won't be disappointed by the variety of different Pacific-inspired food choices.
Nicola Saseve
We came here as was recommended as good but I was disappointed. The place looks great but they don't cater for children at all. No hairchairs so my son had to sit / crawl all over me. I ordered the chicken breast and it was extremely dry, need a drink to wash it down even. Very disappointing.
Austin Ibarra
The staff were professional and the place has a nice atmosphere. I had the club sandwich, and man, it was incredible! All of the flavours really worked well together and I was very satisfied with it :)<br/><br/>Their famous halo halo was fantastic, and as a Filipino myself, I give great commendations to what they presented.<br/><br/>Although a bit on the pricey side, I would totally recommend this restaurant for those who want to an incredible experience of the fusion of flavours that they offer.

Went here one time with my family and the food was amazing! The portions were very generous and each dish we got were very delicious and presented well. The little desserts were delicious but were a bit pricey but overall really good.

This restaurant is a rare thing - edging on five star quality and in an eatery way out west. Come once and become a believer - this really is the business - food presented as art and tasting extraordinary

Food - Great, actually superb.  Have the set course for $65 which included entrÊe, main, desert and bubbly.  Scallops were devine, ostrich was cooked to perfection, the deserts to die for. Fresh food, excellent taste, 5 star quality. Service - On point, friendly and managed to find us a seat when already booked outParking - Great and accessible (free)Location - Easy to findPrice - Very reasonable for the qualityRating - 5 out of 5 - This is if not my most favoured restaurant in Auckland and will continue to come back.Keep up the great work. :)

I had lunch here w my family...party of 26. My mum had made reservations a month prior & had been emailing the owner directly to make our experience at Chikos flow easily w/o any hiccups. And there wasn't. We had pre ordered a week in advanced & I think Chiko the owner appreciated it as this place does get booked out a bit. We were seated around the side & towards the back of the restaurant to be served at 12.30. It was nice & private. Some were a bit late so didn't eat until 12.40 which didn't bother us. The wait staff were lovely & friendly, they would always come just as we needed them. We had ordered from the lunch menu & being such a large party we had a selection of dishes to try which was a bonus. Most of the dishes came out together & were really well presented. I had the Spare Ribs...YUM! Very meaty & just enough sauce & spice. Most of the men had the steak which were cooked perfectly - Med rare. My Dads a real steak man, loves it. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal as did everyone else. The pork knuckle was very juicy & tender, Nachos had a good kick to it & the chowder was so beautiful - not too rich or heavy w cream. The desserts were pre-made but are so delicious especially the Tiramisu w Mango. Overall this was a great day & my family enjoyed dining here. Would definitely do it again.

Love this place! So happy it got expanded to hold more people.<br/>Great, big portions for the price, really get a bang for your buck! All award winning chefs. Always nice, friendly service and the place is always clean. Only downside is that the wait is a little longer than expected sometimes. Be sure to leave room for dessert or some goodies to take away from their cabinet.

Nice clean interior & friendly staff. Decent serving sizes for the prices & presentation was well executed. I highly recommend the #HotLadleChowder - that was amazing! A nice family lunch experience overall.

Came here yesterday for Father's Day & am overly impressed. I loved every bit of my meal and wanted to try others meals but was so full. Overall, the fathers were happy with their Father's Day specials as was everyone with their own orders. The cassava chips I must say were nice especially with the pairing sauce. The service was good and the atmosphere was good. Overall I think this place is amazing and would definitely come back again. ❤️❤️❤️

Enjoyable family dinner at Chikos. Nice environment that incorporates Japanese aesthetics. The food was very well presented and the fusion food had both great flavor and texture. My venison was very tender & the Pata crispy to perfection! Also found serving size very generous. The mandarin/hazelnut/almond/chocolate dessert was sublime! A great light desert.

Nice family dinner at Chikos. The environment was pleasant and the waiters were friendly. What amazed me most was the entrĂŠe, it was so nice. I think it worths the price. I ordered a ostrich plate as my main and a tiramisu dessert. Both of them were nice. <br/>Hope to visit Chikos next time!

We went here for dinner yesterday.Entree Buffalo mozzarella cheese ....full of flavours ,fair portion ,different textures of vegetables and presentation of food was really excellent .&main I ordered crispy pork and prawn quesadillas I felt too much components on the dish & I felt some are unnecessary for the dish ,for vegetarians menu was quiet limited .dessert simple and tasty hazelnut mouse. services excellent and friendly and I will return .

Beautiful place, beautiful food and generously sized portions; so much in fact that we couldn't fit dessert. The service was great, and the atmosphere was really chill, with some soothing background tunes - I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back for a visit :)

This place started out small and I remember going there for Wedges and Garlic bread a week after it was open. I was immediately a fan. Unfortunately though, couldn't go back for another year until I did on my birthday and was happy to see that it's doing great. I got the corner booth that is nicely nestled and tucked away. I ordered the wedges and the enchilada for entrĂŠes. They both were exquisite. Wasn't too pleased with my main but that was because it's just not my taste, not because the main was missing something. <br/>The servers are polite and attentive and even though I'll only go back for the sides, all you Pacific-fusion lovers should feel right at home there!

I didn't think a five would be achievable till we had lunch at Chikos. OMG this wee restaurant is an absolute gem, service, atmosphere, food - a fantastic artistic presentation - then mouth wateringly yum mo.....all aspects of this place - absolutely fabulous.<br/>My son (12) said his crispy chicken was the best chicken he'd ever tasted and polished off the plate at break neck speed - that's half a chicken!! I had the Nasi goreng which was moist and perfect, he had meat balls which were impressive too especially the price! Absolutely stunning.

Beautiful atmosphere, service and presentation of food. Enjoyed dining in a number of times, however the last few times were a bit of a let down in terms of the food itself. I had the steak - asked to be cooked Med Rare. I had to return it because half was cooked Med Well and the other half was Medium. I was given a new steak that was more Medium than Med Well (still not what I ordered). I ate it anyway. Maybe it's just how they cook their steak? Staff was nice about it tho. I will come back. I probs just won't order the steak again.

The dishes here are so meticulously plated, everythings awesome just to look at. The dishes are of a fair portion and have quite unique flavour combinations with their dishes, my favourite being the akaroa salmon and roulade scallops (best mentaiko cream ever!). The smoked ostrich fillet was also tender and juicy. The desserts are really to die for, the chocolate mousse is rich and silky and the tiramisu was also nice and creamy. Overall, the place has a nice modern atmosphere, very lively and warm. The service is attentive and are so many waiters, it was very easy to get hold of someone any time. A must try if you happen to be in the area.

This is the best restaurant in Henderson! Meal's are amazing staff are fantastic my only grip was the cold wind coming in every time the double doors open.
AngeLi
Two words: crispy pata!!! So good, we will definitely come back. I just wish there was more bagoong in the meal that i ordered and there was more rice also. :D

I think this place is a newbie in Henderson. I was very impressed as it was not what I had expected. The food is a fusion of Filipino food with a twist. Everything looked appealing but I ended up with the special on the day which was the chicken. The portion of food is so massive that I struggled to get halfway through it. The flavour was very different and the condiments complimented the dish very well. Price is very reasonable for the portion too. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to try something different.

I have been here twice now and I absolutely love it! The food is impeccable and so beautifully presented! The staff are attentive and warm and always happy to help or answer questions. My only nit pick would be the step-in booths on the right side of the restaurant - love the idea but they are rather awkward to get in and out of, just as well we weren't wearing skirts or dresses! But other than that Chikos is absolutely splendid. I will happily go here again and again and give it 10 stars if I could!!!!

Atmosphere should be a bit better with no load music in front of the reception. The presentation of food was really good but the taste was not. I had fish and chips and couldn't find enough fish in my dish. Chips were hard to chew and a bit burnt. Sapporo beer is great!
Hello.jennie
Ventured all the way out to Henderson this week just to try out Chikos because I've heard so much good stuff about it, and also because I've never had filipino food before. This place is everything that I dreamed off - and more!<br/><br/>For lunch we ordered the cripsy pata pork knuckle and the kaffir lime ginger chicken kawali (special). At $22 each this was such a bargain lunch that was exploding in flavours and so so filling. <br/><br/>Firstly the pork knuckles. They were cooked to perfection with an amazingly crispy skin. The onion dip was tasty, but the best was the peanut sauce - it was full of flavour and complimented the pork so well.<br/><br/>The chicken also had great crispy skin, however some parts of it were a little dry, but that is only a small complaint. The sambal aioli sauce was full of flavour - wish there was a little more of it! The agria wedges were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dahl on the side was a bit random and I felt it didn't really go with the rest of the dish. But I loved the taste of it on its own anyway.<br/><br/>All in all I had high expectations coming to Chikos, and I was not the least bit disappointed. Not only are the dishes cooked well and full of flavour, the portions were massive and the presentation is one of the best I've seen. I can't wait to make the journey back here to try out the rest of the menu - especially the desserts!

To avoid food envy hubby and I opted for the chefs set taste menu. The entree titillated our tastebuds - the hot ladle chowder was sublime! Not only delightful to eat but a feast for the eyes, both senses pleasantly satisfied: cripsy prawn roll, served with smoked blue marlin, salsa verde and picante bruschetta times two.<br/>They say the entree shouldn't over shadow the main and thankfully it didn't the lamb shank pochero was magic. The star of the plate was enclosed by a light creme celeriac, sunny yellow millet, brussel sprouts (normally detested but I was converted at that moment) & garlic, apple yoghurt served with pinot noir fancy sauce...it was all just too luscious! The free glass of bubbles was a nice touch to dinner.<br/>Our dessert was nothing short of unadulterated paradise for the sweet toothed.<br/>Chikos is equivalent to Utopia in my books. <br/>Update: 2nd dinner visit and I was not disappointed. Tried different dishes off the set menu and I was not disappointed. The sushi entree, magnificent in taste and presentation. Salmon (for main) cooked to perfection accompanied with sticky rice in a sushi roll with a Verdi salsa. My salted caramel fancy cream dessert just right ie not sickly sweet. Finished the night off with a Kahlua special coffee. Perfect evening with perfect tasting dishes and wonderful service.

5 stars for Chikos. Amazing and friendly staff with amazing food. I came with a group of friends for a birthday lunch. Most ordered Pork Knuckle, ribs and I ordered the sirloin steak. Beautiful presentation and taste 10/10.
The Hangry Soul
If you're ever out west, YOU MUST DINE HERE AT LEAST ONCE. <br/>No words can express how happy I am to have found this little sweet spot. Came here for a cheat day/celebratory lunch (scored a new job at ANZ, woo!) with Jas Andres! Before dining, I threw a little tantrum when we booked a table the day before for 1030am and the lady said ok, we rocked up on the dot, as we got to the entrance - it says 11am. At that point, I was hangry (hungry angry - it's a word) and I was praying the food better make up for my mood. <br/><br/>To start with we ordered a Hot Laddle Chowder as an entrĂŠe. (Crispy prawn roll, smoked blue marlin, salsa verde bruschetta) It was so good, I didn't want to share.. It wasn't too thick, salty nor sickening (as most chowder are) it was just perfect. <br/><br/>For our mains we've decided to be pigs and order 3 mains, 1 to share because.. Well, its cheat day. If you're going to cheat, go hard or go home right?! We obviously didn't go home as we ordered 2 chef's specials - Kaffir Lime Ginger Chicken Kawali & Fresh Pasta and the famous crispy Prata Pork Knuckle! <br/><br/>Fresh pasta - tiger prawns creme fraiche Chardonnay, Spanish chorizo, salsa piquante, sliced roasted portobello and shaved parmigiana. THIS WAS BEYOND DELISH. The tiger prawns was sweet and crunchy. Wished it was without shell but I ate the whole thing anyways cause I was too lazy to peal. The pasta was soft and it went well with the sauce. We ordered this as a shared dish, but I ate half of it before I even started on my own main which was the ginger chicken. <br/><br/>The Ginger Chicken Kawali consisted of half corn fed crispy fried chicken, sesame cabbages, peanut Mung beans Dahl, agria wedges sambal aioli sauce. I thought the chicken was a tad dry, but adding mixing it with the sauce made it a lot better. Wasn't a fan of the Dahl, thought it was quite random but overall it was nice and filling. <br/><br/>The Crispy Prata pork - was told this was the bomb! Had a bit of it and I couldn't stop stealing food of his plate. It was sooooo crispy, I made sure my mouth had something to crunch on every bite. I mixed it with the pasta and gaaddddammn, I think I made my own heaven. Usually eating this part of the pig gets sickening, but I couldn't stop! <br/><br/>Despite the miscommunication with the booking, the food definitely made up for it. I couldn't be happier with the service, ambience and food. <br/>Food presentation 10/10. <br/>Ambience & decos 9/10. <br/>Hygiene 9/10. <br/>Food portion & taste 9/10<br/><br/>Never thought I'd be so impressed. Well done, Chikos. You're going to make me broke and obese. Well done. <br/>

What can I say? The food was presented to perfection and tasted perfect, the waitresses were friendly and always checked if everything was fine and the price was reasonable! Chikos is definitely a gem! I would recommend this place to all! Go and try this place for yourself!

I was very impressed! The lamb shanks i had were cooked beautifully and all the other dishes like the cooked vegetables and salad was delicious!! the service was great, i had a very lovely waitress and i believe it is just like or even better than the waterfront reassurance in town! Defiantly coming back!!!

What a great little find. The menu is very involved so many flavours in each dish you wonder how it all works together- but it does. <br/>I had the Hot Ladle Chowder and it was beautiful- a crispy prawn roll, accompanied a very tasty chowder and a delicately smoked piece of blue marlin with salsa verde on bruschetta. Mr Lid had the Buffalo halloumi, bourghul tabbouleh, conserved fig & persimmon, almond toast, pomegranate syrah foam- it was a work of art and a huge portion. (Although the halloumi could have been seared a bit more) <br/>For mains we had the Venison and the beef- both were a tad over cooked the beef coming out a solid medium not medium rear but tasty nonetheless.<br/>We were so full dessert was not even an option.<br/>The staff were friendly, the food generous and we will go back.

Went there for the first time on Wednesday.  Absolutely loved it - the special Yellow fin tuna was awesome.  It was so nice I went again on Thursday and had their 3 course set menu, which was equally as fabulous.  Highly recommend.

Came here on Sunday night after the reservation from another restaurant fell through. Lucky this place takes walk ins!  The ambiance was great and the decor is very unique.  It took us a good 20 mins to decide what we wanted as there was TOO MANY items to choose from. Service was a bit sloppy, majority of the front of house are young teens who do not know much about the menu, we were confused as there was too many foreign words so we had to google the majority of them ourselves. A recommendation would have been helpful. I chose the crispy pork knuckle which was just amazing! beautiful flavours and lovely salad for a nice balanced meal! My partner had the fish and chips and told me it had improved alot in texture and taste since she last had it months ago. Food took a while to come out yet the place wasn't so busy. The food saved this 5.0 rating! I will definitely be coming back soon, hopefully the menu will be a bit more concise and the service a little more experienced....

After hearing from so many friends recommendations to try this place, we finally had the chance to come in and try Chiko's food. I never write reviews for restaurants even though I eat out ALOT but for this particular place, I felt the need to! This place is absolutely AMAZING! I came here a couple of days ago without a booking and the staff were friendly enough to let my friend and I in. I literally have eaten around the world, Michelin starred restaurants, fine dining, casual dining and countless places throughout Auckland. What sets this place apart is its pacific rim fusion concept, very unique and quite interesting in the most unexpected locations! Interior of the restaurant was original and faultess, the layout of the entire place was gorgeous! My friend and I had the Salmon Roulade and the duck for entree, Ostrich and Pasta Special for mains. Presentation was out of this world. I am tired of seeing this 'sharing concept' non sense in the city where you get tiny, poorly presented and over priced plates, with garnishes just chucked on top. At Chiko's, there was precise, beautifully presented and well thought out dishes. Pricing for dishes was just right, if not too cheap for what they are offering regardless of their location, so it bugs me seeing previous reviews about "too expensive dishes" about this place. There's free parking for god sake unlike the city!!!!! Ostrich was cooked perfectly, I was a bit confused however about the pasta dish being on a pacific rim fusion menu, it was also a struggle to finish the dish as it was huge! Maybe an explanation about the concept behind the dish might have cleared things up. The only down side to our experience would be that the music volume kept going up and down,  I noticed the front of house kept adjusting the volume which was quite distracting and awkward for my friend and I, it's not a fine dining restaurant so it's okay to have a bit of music! It also would have been nice if the front of house could have recommended a nice wine match for our dishes. Overall, I am highly recommending this place to anyone who will listen! I wish this place was closer to city so I could come more often! Hopefully this is the restaurant that ends this stupid 'sharing concept' phase and we can get back to beautifully presented food at such reasonable pricing!

We came here for dinner.... Heard so much about it... Parking is a pain... Restaurant and service is great... 5 of us at a table did feel a little bit squashed ... We started with the entree tasting platter which was amazing... But our dinner meal we thought wasn't as good...

Today we came here for lunch. It was my second time at the restaurant (last time was for dinner) and it was just as good as I remember. I cannot fault anything - the service was spot on and waitress was attentive and polite. Our food was divine - I had the chefs special which was fried chicken with sambal and it was beautiful. The other ladies had a Nasi Goreng and quesadillas. I had to convince them that although the desserts didn't look great they tasted delicious and we weren't disappointed. The West needs more places like this - we will definitely be back soon.

Nice atmosphere in the Restaurant, it's been done up quite well. My food was lovely but as I can't eat wheat it took a while for the Waitress to find out what was GF and what was not. No information about food allergies on the menu at all which makes things harder. They ended up offering 4-5 options with small changes to them.  (I've woken up with allergies so maybe the GF food wasn't as GF as I had hoped for)<br/>We asked if we could order food but the waitress had to go and find someone else to take our order so we waited a while to be served. When the food arrived it was very good, but they were city centre prices not what we expected on Lincoln Road.<br/>For this reason we wouldn't return, think you can get better service / food for $28-35 per meal. Good if you need something close to home though

Restaurant outlook was impressive.  Water was not served straight away but needed to asked for water. Unavailable in the menu the eye fillet. Meal was a bit steep, not good value for money. Main meal approx  $45 with 1 piece of vegie plus a glass of wine. Plates were not served hot, coffee was cold. Desserts were pre- done on trolleys.  Overall we will not dine again.

Manager advised waitress that we were not allowed to sit in our preferred spot, instead we were put two tables down from a lady who was having an emotional breakdown. When I pointed this out to the waitress and noted how awkward it was she just smiled and said please take a seat. No children's menu was a bummer. The food was nice, but what's the point of having nice food without a nice environment and a content child? Definitely not the highlight of my Sunday.

We initially came here because our booking at another restaurant fell through. At first glance we were pretty impressed with the look of the restaurant and we were directed into a very cute table in a corner. We had our own little wooden booth with cute cushions. <br/><br/>Overall I felt like the menu was quite limited. The food seemed to be a fusion of a few different cuisines! The menu sounded strange compared to what we normally see at other restaurants but we were keen to try out some meals! I ended up getting a crispy pata pork knuckle which came with salad and rice whereas my two friends got the lamb shank and venison! It was quite nice! I didn't feel full afterwards though so we got dessert as well. The halo halo was $12 (the bigger dessert) compared to the little square desserts which were $10 each. The halo halo BY FAR was way worth the price and tasted a lot nicer as well. <br/><br/>The service was good! We stayed for a bit and I think we stayed past closing time but the staff were just as nice to us when we paid for our meals. I think I would definitely come back for the halo halo dessert!

One if the best dinning experience I have had, had my birthday dinner here with our group of 11 guest, service was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. A few guest wanted to start their meals with croonut and goodies from the cabinet which they all loved, starters and mains all came out together which was fantastic then the flavours in this fine dining experience was faultless for me, had prawn and pork starter which was a tasty and enjoyed the light Asian cracker mouthful, and main was the best duck dish I have had with rich sauce and perfectly cooked duck along with crispy cassava chips. I had and only left off 0.5 because we were abit squashed and were put near the auto doors which meant a few from our party had to leave their jackets on, however this was before their latest makeover, so this may be a mute point. Would defiantly still highly recommend this place for a special meal and the price is well in par with the quality and taste of the food we were served. Can't wait to go back to try more, rest of my party thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Very nice atmosphere the moment you step into the door...the service staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and the fusion of flavours really worked. The servings were generous and the combination of different ingredients were well thought of. I had the barbeque spare ribs, my wife had the seafood chowder, and we ordered the Pacific Rim platter. Suffice to say that we felt full and satisfied at the end of the night. Money well spent. Well done, Chikos!!!
Louna Iti
Great place, atmosphere and decor very cool. The food was spot on with good portion sizes and the service was excellent. Initially I thought it a bit pricey, but the standard of the dishes (my family tried 6 of the mains) were definitely worth it. We'll be going back ;)

Really creative and beautifully presented food so close to home.  We tried had such interesting flavours and clearly a successful  fusion of east and west.  If you're ever out in West Auckland this is a great place for dinner but best to make a reservation as it was packed.  We walked it and they gladly accommodated us.  They also made some changes to the dishes to accommodate my husband's gluten-free diet.  Lovely! :)

We went to Chikos after a couple of friends had recommended to do so.  The atmosphere was mediocre, but the place was clean.  The menu sounded exciting, however what came out was confusing & complicated on the plate.  The seafood chowder was tasty, but the crispy prawn roll was under cooked & the bruschetta was soggy with too much tomato salsa & coriander pesto, served with a piece of slightly dry edged smoked marlin on top.  The chicken tostada enchiladas that I ordered was actually a beef enchilada with chicken pieces on the side.  No mention of this on the menu!?  Do your self a favour & drive the 12 km's to the city for delicious food, often at a cheaper price.
Tess
Best in the West! Asian fusion restaurant. Food well presented and reasonably priced. Fantastic food and great service. A must-try, highly recommended! Been here few times!

Came here with the family a day before my birthday to celebrate, not only encouraged by rave reviews of foodies both here in Zomato.com and through personal conversations, but also because I heard that the owner is a Filipino. At first I thought these reviews as too good to be true, but as you will read further, this confirms what other previous diners have experienced.<br/><br/>From the outside, you can tell that the details are well taken cared of. As soon as you come in, you are greeted by smiling friendly attendants and when settling down, it felt like I was inside an actual house, what with Japanese canopies, potted plants and flowers on tables. For some strange reason, I felt peaceful because it felt like a sanctuary, even without the fountain. There were wheelchair friendly stickers seen in few areas, which is honestly really nice and thoughtful of them, considering there may only be very few wheelchair friendly restaurants around Auckland. <br/><br/>Another must-see, aside from the gorgeous interior design, is the dessert showroom. Wow, very impressive array of delectable desserts and Criollo Chocolates. <br/><br/>Food was equally impressive, if not more so. So far, this restaurant has the best presentation of dishes among those I've visited. Five stars or seven stars I give the rating. I chose the Signature BBQ Pork Ribs, my partner had its version of Fish and Chips, Mum had the Chicken Breast dish, while Dad chose the Crispy Pata Pork Knuckles. Although Mum thought the Chicken Breast was dry, everything else was really nice and delicious, particularly the BBQ pork ribs. Just the right amount of the sweet sauce. Wow, three huge pieces of pork ribs! Had to bring the rest home.<br/><br/>This time, judging by the look of the dessert showroom, I had to try one of them. Ideally, I would've wanted a dessert for myself, but this time we ordered two to share as we were too full to muster one dessert plate. Mum and Dad had the Blueberry, Raspberry and Custard (should've remembered the actual name) while Chris and I had Chocolate Mousse. Oh, it was just divine! Lovely, lovely! The best part is that Criollo Chocolates is just in West Auckland also, so am keen to try their goodies! <br/><br/>So proud of the way the restaurant owner put love and attention towards the ambience and food preparation. For a very awesome fusion cuisine, come to Chikos. Very worth your money, time, and commute.
Celeste
Service excellent, good quality food - I had lamb entrĂŠe & pork knuckles main, lovely decor, yummy desserts - I had mandarin chocolate. It deserves it's good ratings and I hope they keep up their good standards so I will return and try something new :)

Great atmosphere, very enticing dishes and large portions and very filling. Everything was great Though the ribs seem to be a bit overwhelming with the spices. You'll definitely leave very full.

WOW! Absolutely beautiful! The food here is just.... Ahh~ Such a unique combination of flavours in each meal, making every bite so gorgeous and rich in diversity! The presentation is so wonderful, just as wonderful as the staff that work there! Such a well thought out fusion restaurant with plenty of mouth-watering meals to offer! Every visit is a memorable one at Chikos :-)

Absolutely amazing Food, presentation, Taste and wonderful service. I had the Pork knukel's and they were cooked to perfection and each element complemented one another, It was super filling too, hubby had the steak and it was again amazing and it was cooked perfect to his liking. Chiko's has such a great atmosphere too. dÊcor is so interesting to look at and keeps the convo going.  I can not find any fault with our experience at Chiko's. thank you and we look forward to dining again.:-) It's great to have a 5start quality restaurant out in West Auckland.

Chikos in Henderson is without doubt my favorite restaurant In West Auckland. They tick all the boxes, great customer service, lovely dining atmosphere and above all delicious, flavorsome food. The menu is adventurous providing options for every pallet. I chose the rabbit on this occasion and my partner chose the pork knuckle. Serving size is generous and food is fresh &tasty. Food is difficult to describe however I would say it is a fusion of European and asian style dishes. Mains are in the $30.00 range but well worth it as they are meals completely unique that you will not find elsewhere. Staff are welcoming, friendly and accomodating. This is our regular spot for special nights, anniversary, birthday, valentines. So glad they expanded the restaurant size as it was always a full house! Well done chikos.

WOW is all I can say. <br/><br/>I heard about Chikos through I friend and I must admit I wasn't convinced when I saw the location and presentation of the shop front.<br/><br/>However as soon as we walked inside we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated in awesome Asian-Style banquet seats out the back.<br/><br/>Their menu is large and there is something for everybody to choose from. I would say the food is Asian Infused European, hard to describe really. Whatever it is - it was divine!<br/><br/>Would recommend for anyone out west (or even elsewhere if you fancy a bit of a drive). Definitely worth a go.<br/><br/>Top restaurant I have been to in West Auckland (doesn't mean much I know, but trust me, you won't regret giving this place a go)<br/><br/>Will be back. A++<br/>

I had to go to NZ Immigration in Henderson just off Lincoln Rd. LR is an ordinary suburban main road , not good, not bad. Across the street, next to each other, were Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants. A café was a few stores away. I went to the other side of Lincoln Rd to the fruit store. A very good fruit store. Good quality, reasonable prices, some of the best oranges that I ever have had. I saw across from the fruit store an Indian restaurant, Chikos and a sign next to the street at the end of a driveway announcing a winery. I thought what the hell, I am there already, let’s look. In the parking lot in front I drove past an Indian restaurant – war on a plate, no interest. I was going to look at Chikos, but I thought not to waste my time. It’s probably a Latino place where the best dish is overcooked steak topped with a fried egg. So I drove to the end of the driveway to the winery store. It was Mazuran. Eye popping surprise. It’s been there since 1938 and specializes in port. Bottles for hundreds of dollars. With a vineyard behind the shop. So I thought, this is interesting and despite LR being an ordinary suburban street, not good, not bad. Maybe I should stop into Chikos. Not what I expected. A fancy menu, but a Filipino chef- owner was worrisome. Filipino cooking is … well … better to be avoided. However I returned for lunch today with my wife. I wanted to go to the vegetable store for more oranges.<br/>So our lunch. Wow! What we had ranks with the most interesting and tasty plates that we ever have had. Execution was highly skilled and controlled. The chef’s training is French, but there is great freedom in the cooking. Beautiful, complex, composed plates with lots of different ingredients. But no silliness: everything hangs together, is to be eaten, is delicious and then the plate is to be licked if your wife isn’t watching. <br/>Generous portions. Reasonable prices in comparison to others and a bargain for what was served.<br/>The chef spent many years with the Hyatt Hotels in the Philippines, starting as student –slave and ending up as executive chef. He had a stint in France, Singapore, Kuwait, somewhere in this he moved to the Intercontinental Hotels. In NZ he was executive chef at Sky City. He says he learned from the chefs that were brought in from many different countries. His cooking shows that he was an excellent student and he can go in his own direction.<br/>We eagerly anticipate our next visit. Worth a special trip. It’s only 30 minutes from Cockle Bay and there is adequate free parking.

I ate here with my family and friends on my birthday one night, and the lady found out it was my birthday, and so she came to our table with the dessert I ordered and put a lit candle on it! It was so cute and so nice of her! <br/><br/>Overall, the experience was great!

I had heard a few things about this place and thought we would give it a shot as there aren't many great dining places out west.  Upon entering the restaurant there were loads of little pot plants and gave it a really different feel to a lot of other places.  It was small but it added to its charm.<br/><br/>The wine list is small and the waitress didn't really have much information on the wines offered so it took us forever to decide which wine to choose.  We did finally settle on one and were happy with it when it came out.<br/><br/>We ordered the mains and side dishes of potato wedges and mixed veges, and I got the beef and short rib and my friend chose the venison.  The wedges came out beautifully they had the right amount of crisp and golden colour and a generous portion of chili mayo on both sides of the dish.  I hate going to places and they cheap out on dipping sauce!  When the mains came out they were impressive!  My beef was a little overcooked but the quality of cut was good so it wasn't all bad and the venison went down well, not too smokey.  The mix veges were good but nothing to rave about.  <br/><br/>I can honestly say that this little restaurant is a breath of fresh air - not too pricey as most places in the city charge more with smaller portions.  I don't normally eat that much either but I couldn't stop myself!  I will definitely be going back to this place!  Yay for better choices out west!

This place is the tits!! Hands down best restaurant in West Aux. Not only because their chef has won "NZ chef of the year 2014", but also the staff are so welcoming. Meet Chiko herself, the lil cheeko she is ;) recommend the pork knuckles for any first timers

My family and I came all the way from East Auckland only to find out that this place is absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed the fine dine like set up. Their food is absolutely worth the drive with a good price. Food is also very well presented and you could not resist to take your phone out to take photos of the food served! They have really friendly staff and chefs- and top it all of, our coffee was excellently blended. Would definitely recommend this fusion restaurant and cafe to all!

I went here for dinner last night and I cannot stop telling anyone who will listen to me how delicious this place was. The style of food is a bit different to anywhere else I have eaten before (in a good way!), the dĂŠcor is great, it has a lovely atmosphere, each and every one of the staff were helpful, polite and friendly, excellent service and food that is plated so beautifully and tastes incredible.<br/><br/>Every course I had (Entree, Main &amp; Dessert) was fabulous as was each of my husbands. Honestly the best place I have eaten in a long time! I cannot wait to go back (planning a return next week!) I am so happy to have discovered this little gem in Henderson.<br/><br/>To sum it all up - WOW!

We dropped in for a late dessert and coffee, but the dinner crowd had already finished, so they had closed early. They saw us at the door and opened up again just for us! The desserts, though pre-prepared, were excellent. And the coffees were superb. The staff were super helpful and professional, the dĂŠcor was attractive, and the facilities were top-notch and spotless ('A' grade). We can't wait to come back to try their meals.

Nice and tasty food. Great price for the serving size. We ate there at lunch today and I and my sister ate pinoy crispy pata (fried pork knuckles) and my husband and brother-in-law had half lechon kawali chicken and a side order of potato wedges. Pretty good quality food and the presentation was lovely. Add to that the clean and beautiful decor of the restaurant makes it quite top notch. Thanks Chikos restaurant. Please keep up the good work. Our family will be back again. :-)

Fantastic food and presentation. The 2 entrees, calamari and scallops, looked great and tasted the same. The salad dressing was very tasty. The toothfish and cuttlefish main was excellent. <br/><br/>To echo Jennifer, finally a really top notch restaurant out West.

My friend suggested we go here for a late lunch, had the scotch fillet and not only was it sooo pretty to look at, my steak was cooked perfectly! I'm pregnant so asked for it well done and didn't have high hopes, as usually steaks can dry out, but it was well done and perfectly succulent. It came with crispy potato skins, which were so tasty. Definitely going again, the service is friendly without being overbearing and food came out quickly. Decor is lovely. A hidden gem in the West! Thanks Chikos :)

Absolutely amazing restaurant. It's a Japanese owned fushion restaurant. The food does not only look great but the taste is amazing too. My fav is the pacifika pasta. The savoury yet sour sauce is very creamy and tasty. And the chocolate mousse is a must have dessert too.

I am sooo loving this restaurant. You can never go wrong eating in this restaurant. For minimum $15 you can get a full meal served in a big Japanese rice bamboo bowl complete with salad and main fare. I ordered crispy pork knuckles an enormous serving that came with fresh garden salad complete with fennel and daikon sauces. My sons had gnocchi and steak cooked to perfection and fish of day (salmon) terriyaki cooked with real mirin with grilled aubergine served with shrimp fry. It is a fusion of Far East Asia, South East Asian and European fare. The chicken is simple but crispy just the way most people like it served with pilaf rice. The ambiance is not overbearing, orchids and bonsais give it a tropical look. The staff are so attentive that whilst the waitress had a little mishap she still has her eyes on me. Book yourself in advance even on weekdays. People come in droves. I love the modern macaron they serve, done with an Art Deco design. Simply wonderful. They just opened six months ago. I just hope they keep the price the same. The kitchen is open for everyone to see. If you know your way around the kitchen and know how to cook, you would appreciate to see how the cooks check the temperature of the chicken before they serve it and see the wonderful gadgets they invest to make the food delectable, they have french mandolins, foam pumps, a salamander oven. Awesome

First visit last night with 3 others - absolutely lovely environment, we liked that you could see the chefs preparing the meals it added to the experience. I ordered the lamb rack and it was cooked exactly as requested and was absolutely to die for. We all loved the variety of flavors on our dishes and we had sides of garlic bread (huge pieces!) wedges (home made ones and the best I've ever tasted) and a really unique chefs salad that complimented our meals perfectly.
Na-kita Na-kita
Loved it. All the food not only tasted delicious but it was also presented beautifully. And great portions too it was soo much that I had to get it in a container to take home. I got the pork ribs and they were amazing I also really loved the chocolate mousse.
Amy Stanyon
Had a great meal here last night, the staff are lovely, and the food was amazing. We had the duck and the ribs, both tasted fantastic and were surprisingly filling. Even the wedges were great! Glad we came and hopefully we will be back to try the lamb and some of the desserts. :)
Kristine
Awesome, just truly awesome! I noticed this place a month or so ago when driving home and thought, hmmm, that looks interesting. So last night my husband and I thought we would give it a try and I can tell you it was well worth it. The staff, Lil Chiko - waitress (owner), her husband Roberto (Chef) and young Jason, were, warm, friendly and made our evening a treat! The food, OMG, the food was spectacular, we were so impressed with the quality of food, it's presentation and choices that we will be recommending this delightful place to all of our friends and colleagues. I can't wait to go back and have told my husband that I want to try everything on the Menu - he said he would be happy to have the lamb rack everytime! We couldn't even fit in dessert. The wine list has been carefully thought through ($15 corkage for BYO), but if you are a Mazuran's fan you will love the wine selections and I think it is great that they are promoting the local wine. We will definitely be going back , I would suggest booking as this place is going to be super popular once the word gets out.

Wow! just WOW!!!<br/><br/>This place looks quiet from the road so we thought we would give it a try, this interior is modern and very nicely designed. <br/><br/>But the food....!! Big flavor, excellent presentation and fresh ingredients. Talented chef in the kitchen (who is the owner) putting his soul into each dish!<br/><br/>You have to try this place!
Michael Barlev
Ate here for a birthday event. Very good job accommodating our group. We we're emailed the menu a few days before which was really nice. Corkage is $15 per bottle, but its a small joint and the food is worth it.<br/><br/>I will return for those ribs!<br/><br/>Great stash or exquisite desserts too. <br/><br/>Very friendly staff.<br/><br/>Presentation was 12 out 10.
Rosanna
Fantastic service, food ,atmosphere and decor.<br/> Absolutely loved it.<br/> Thank goodness we now have a decent restaurant in the West.<br/> I have eaten all over the world and without a doubt this place is world class for food.<br/>Cant wait to go again.<br/> What a gem.

Celebrated daughter's graduation with a lovely dinner at Chickos. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. We had the beef, duck, pork knuckles and spare ribs, they were all beautifully prepared. The portions were very generous but we still managed to sample some dessert. <br/>What a gem in West Auckland. Definitely going back.

Good appearance - clean and tidy - impressive menu - I ordered Beef medium rare, it was very well done and hard as a rock..., Towards 10 O'clock it was clear staff wanted to leave, kept circling our table clearing and checking our bottles to see if we had finished our wine. Then upon paying account found corkage was $15.00 per bottle - NOT TABLE... BOTTLE!

at the point of eating period 5 stars.<br/>Went there for lunch when it had just opened.<br/>Inside has peaceful Japanese environment. Friendly staff who stopped to have a little chat if the customers wanted one...well my friend did... :)
Lee Sinclair
Friendly staff. Great food. We only ordered entrees for the lunch menu but the where the size of a main with a very reasonable price. The mix of different cultures is amazing and very well done.

Wow! I found a little gem in West.<br/><br/>Because their food is a fusion, some dishes are not familiar but are well explained in the menu. <br/>We were group of four very hungry ladies. Owner kindly offered to suggest some dishes which are easy to share.<br/>All food we had were amazing. Well presented and taste soooo good.<br/>I will definitely go back again soon.

I was driving past every week while Chikos was being built. As soon it was open, we only heard good things.<br/>We decided to book a table for my fiances birthday with his mother and a friend joining us and it certainly lives up to it's rating!<br/><br/>A quaint and cosy little restaurant with great service! <br/>Two of us had the Pork Spare Ribs which were to die for but not extremely fatty and smothered in sauce like the usual versions you get. It was served with a lovely green salad, a fresh pear salad and some freshly made condiments.<br/>One of us got the fish of the day and the other got the Nasi Goreng.<br/>We got some Potato chips and Casava chips to share - YUM!!!!<br/>Everyone was so satisfied afterwards!<br/><br/>Everything was so good. Unfortunately we didn't try out the deserts as there was birthday cake at home but we'll definitely be visiting Chikos again!

Chikos is amazing. I have been there for lunch and dinner. The food is well presented and very tasty. I have dined in many fine restaurants and I couldn't fault the food at Chikos. Four of us dined for dinner and we were all very impressed with the fine food and great presentation. The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. I love this restaurant and can't wait to go back. Well done. I wish you all the best. Keep up the high standards. Oh and their desserts are to die for. Thanks to all the staff at Chikos. YUM!!!!!!

Soon as I walked through the doors I was so taken up with this restaurant. It was warm and welcoming and immaculate. The food was divine. I could sit there all day and eat. So excited there is actually a decent, lovely restaurant to go to on Lincoln Road. The service was excellent. Very impressive.

This is the only restaurant that satisfies our expectation after 5 years of exploring West Auckland. Truly recommendable for the food choices, the consistency of taste, well presentation, the service...and most important, the VALUE of your money is worth spending. Me and my family will not get sick of coming back every week and bringing friends for we know, they will not fail us!
Tina Allingham
Discovered Chikos by default, been every Friday for lunch and twice on Saturdays, superb menu, excellent value for money, fun to watch the chefs cook and the presentation of the food is seriously amazing... customer service is faultless, definitely my new favourite place to eat.
Jennifer
Been here a few times now, tried the crispy pata, lechon kawali, fish cakes, nasi goreng - all delicious! You definitely get more than what you pay for. Great customer service and the tasting desserts are yummy too. It's nice to finally have a good restaurant out west :)
Nomes Te Huia
went for breakfast and even though there were only two dishes to choose from both were very yummy and the customer service was very good would recommend them nice people and thinking of going there for dinner tomorrow night :)
Cat Charm
We have become regulars at this restaurant now, their food is delicious the meat is tender high quality and flavoursome yet the price is very decent, service is friendly and the meals are a good size. I would have to say that this is probably the best restaurant to dine at in the Henderson area!

If you are ever in West Auckland, you must check this place out! It is my weekend go-to restaurant as I know it will never fail to satisfy my taste buds. All the dishes are beautifully presented, taste delicious, generous portions and great value for money. The cassava chips and crispy chicken are a must try! They have the best desserts around and also make really good coffee so you can pop in for morning or afternoon tea as well.

I discovered this place through friends that tagged themselves at this location via Facebook, so I thought I'd have a look at the menu. Saw a few things and decided that I wanted to give this place a try. Bit far from where I'm located, the venture out West was fun. From past, Henderson didn't have a great deal of great eats, but when I got here I quickly changed my mind. The exterior and interior was so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes ( in my opinion of course), with different seating arrangement for the number of people eating or the style of eating - from causal drinks on high tables, larger open area at the front for groups and the back was for a more intimate feel - which my partner and myself experienced. <br/><br/>So what did we have??? <br/><br/>We ordered the agria potato wedges served with chilli cream mayo as a snack before our meal - that was a mistake, this dish is huge and too much for just two people.<br/><br/>I got the Pork Belly Sandwich - OMG, that was amazing!!! That is all I can say, amazing and tasty!!! Mega filling as well.<br/><br/>As for my partner, he had gotten a pasta with his favourite, scallops and side of ciabatta bread - which he enjoyed. <br/><br/>The chef was happy in the kitchen preparing and cooking our food, the Japanese waitress that served us was adorable and friendly, so lovely. We had not finish out meal since it was too much, but we were able to go Asian and doggy bagged our food :) <br/><br/> Overall, amazing experience :)

A pleasant surprise in an area weak on decent dining choices.<br/><br/>We went here on a whim and were more than happy with the experience. On arrival we were the only people there but it was early evening and most places would have been the same.<br/><br/>Food choice is actually very good and there is something to appeal to most people. They have managed to get a nice twist on what would normally be some stock issues along with lots of fresh ideas. On receiving the food the the presentation was fantastic and the sizes would best be described as very generous. As far as taste I think most at our table of 6 were proclaiming that theirs was actually the best so very well received all around.<br/><br/>The staff were great and very helpful with the chef even taking the time to come to the table to check everything was ok which was a nice touch given that he had the time.<br/><br/>The atmosphere is best described as eclectic Asian if such a thing exists. If not I just created it.<br/><br/>I have to say that overall we all left thinking that we had had a really good experience given the reserved expectations going in based on the other offerings in the area. Folks if you are lost for a spot to eat out west this place will serve you very very well. We are going back.

We visited Chikos on Friday for family occasion. We arrived just before 7pm with a booking for 6 people and though the restaurant was empty, every table was reserved. A good sign! There is a carpark outside and this block of shops looks like a new development, possibly still gathering momentum. The decor is modern with lots of wooden accents and the bonsai trees scattered through sets the Pacific-Rim-Asian-fusion theme. The kitchen is in an island down one half of the restaurant so if you wish, you can watch the flurry of activity.<br/><br/>The staff are friendly, unpretentious with just the right level of service. Our drinks orders taken immediately and our water glasses were always topped up. They have a small wine list and have two Japanese beers on tap: Asahi and Orion. Complimentary Furikake nuts on the table was a nice touch for those of us who needed a nibble. Furikake is a tasty Japanese seasoning which would appear in other dishes.<br/><br/>The menu at Chikos is concise and easy to get through. We ordered 3 starters (to share) and 6 mains. We had the satay prawn and chicken, tataki scallops, pork knuckle, the lamb rack and the ribs. The starters were delicious. There were 2 huge scallops, served without roe and the feta-leek mousseline it came was with phenomenal. The satay wasn't what we imagined but fun to eat. The ribs were delicious with Furikake (a tasty Japanese seasoning) sprinkled on top. The pork knuckles came with a bowl of rice and the crackling was great. The lamb dish looked a bit smaller than the others and every bite was eaten. <br/><br/>The presentation of the dishes are really stunning. The chef is setting the bar very high for Chikos. If only we had room in our bellies for dessert. They looked lovely. For some reason I didn't expect it to be this good. It was great to be surprised. Excellent value for money and presentation is stunning making this place ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. A real gem in a unassuming location.

Came here for a late lunch as recommended by a friend that works nearby and have been here before. This is a very interesting place with an Asian Fusion menu. I heard the owners are Japanese and Filipino. The environment has an contemporary feel with a Japanese twist. We chose items off the entree menu which is around $16. Their main menu had items of around $20-22.<br/>I chose the foldover sesame bread and crispy freedom pork belly - the pork was definitely very crispy the the foldover looked great and the salad had a interesting tang to it. However the foldover was over some dressing which made it soggy.<br/>My friend had the chicken salad and that had a great taste and came in a big portion. The other friend had the seafood chowder, although the portion looked small, it was very flavourful and the foam on top & the container it came with also provided a very fun feel to it. I also had the roast green tea and it was very tasty. <br/>I would probably come back here to try something else when I am in the area, they also have the "Famous Halo-halo" a colourful Filipino dessert at the counter that I would love to try!
