Yummy Indian food in West Auckland. We tried momos. Interesting but don’t think will order again next time. The naan bread filled with onions is so delicious. Will try other fillings next time.

Ordered the Lamb Saag through Door Dash, was delicious, so much flavour! 100% would recommend and order again.

We dined at 6pm on the 29.01.21 . We were warmly greeted the waiter was friendly and polite - Excellent service . The restaurant was clean and very well presented . We had the Lamb Rogan and Garlic Naan bread - delicious and Great value . We were the only customers in the restaurant - which must be a disapointment to the owners, as it is definetely worth patronage

Great service. Really friendly staff. A cute little place. Nice heat pump above the door perfect for these cold winters. Decent pricing and yummy food. Bathroom leaves a little to be desired but the beautiful wooden swing bench for waiting more than makes up for it. Find them on menu log and uber eats aswell.

Really tasty food and the staff is great about dietary restrictions. Just a great atmosphere, would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal.👍👍👍

Love their palak planner when I am veg and Lamb bhuna when I want to eat nonveg. Yummy food and nice ambience 😍

Our first Indian takeaway in Level 3 and long awaited. Mantra you didn't disappoint. Superb!! Very generous amount of succulent chicken (butter chicken and madras chicken) and fat juicy prawns. I think we will need another fix in a couple of days time. Thank you 😊

Everything was divine. I am very fussy with the Raita - but this is the best one I have had at any Indian restaurant in NZ and Australia. Butter chicken was delicious and cheese garlic naan tasty !!

We have been regular patrons at Mantra since couple of months ago. The reason why we keep returning is quite simple. The standard of service, food and atmosphere remains classic and competitive pricing. It is not easy to find an Indian restaurant where you been welcomed and greeted with bunch of smiles and you are been attended quickly.
Becca
Butter chicken was delicious, the chicken was not dry. Naan was also good just don’t order the onion salad as it’s literally just sliced onion.

Mantra 🕉 in Henderson has been my favourite Indian restaurant for years. The sauces they make up are sooo nice. I love to order takeaway on the ‘cheaper nights’ chicken (or when I can afford, fish) madras (Indian hot 🥵) with aloo naan bread. Yuuuuummy!

We recently ate here whilst on holiday and finding this restaurant on Yelp. As I have alot of food allergies eating out on holiday can be quite stressful. But this restaurant was so good. Very helpful in suggesting which foods would be suitable for me. Everything we ordered was so delicious. When I asked for mild to medium heat, that is exactly what I got. My husband likes his curry a bit spicier. He was brought a bit of extra spicy pickle to try and he thoroughly enjoyed it. This restaurant has amazing food, we had great service. It is a little gem in Henderson

An awesome casual Indian dining place. The food was great but the service went above and beyond. We accidentally ordered a dish I was allergic to, completely our mistake. Upon realising this the owner showed genuine concern and offered me a snack to ensure I had a starter too. It was my dads birthday and we misunderstood the complimentary birthday main offer. After explaining, the owner still offered us the discount, again something they didn’t have to. I will most certainly be coming back to this place. Only constructive criticism would be to make the curries slightly thinner, while extremely tasty they were on the heavier side.

Another great night at Mantra last night for two birthdays in my group. Great food and great service.

Wow! Wi-Fi available, great service, & without a doubt the best goat curry (boneless) I've ever had, seriously! I was holding off dining at Mantra as I had this romanticized/humorous idea to meet my mate Jack Kaka (the man behind the NZ band Mantra) for a cool rendezvous. That will be something to look forward to for the next visit, I'll be back! Thanks guys, Indian cuisine is alive in Henderson🍽 Mike Beck (drummer)

The restaurant is a bit out dated but the food definitely makes up for that and the staff are very kind and friendly. I always get the Lamb Madras and my partner gets the Butter Chicken. The flavors are amazing and the meat is always tender, the butter chicken is authentic butter chicken not this fake stuff you get a lot from indian mall stores. We have been here(well uber eats more so) 3+ times and it always arrives hot at home too which is always a plus.<br/>Ohh and the naan bread is a 10/10 every time. Never dry, nice and fluffy. If I am ordering curry to takeaway or recommend friends. We also refer here.

Great indian food in the heart of West Auckland. Decor was very dated but food and service made up for it. We had the lamb madras, chicken tikka masala, Tandoori chicken and Dum aloo and some parathas. i actually did enjoy the indian music in the background. Though lacked ambience, the place felt like I was in someones home in India.

One of the most underrated Indian restaurants. Kali Much chicken and momos are authentic and delicious. The service was bang on. I would highly recommend it for the food.

I have ordered there mughlai chicken and kadhai paneer. Both dishes were good. I found this bit pricey compared to other places in the same area.

Mantra is our top choice when we crave for some spicy comfort food. We usually order takeaway (pick up) or using menulog. The takeaway order usually ready around 15mins to 20mins. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is the best!!! Lamb dishes are great too and the meat is always tender. Mantra is the best Indian restaurant in West Auckland by far!!

This restaurant is one of my favourites in West auckland. Food is always fresh and better quality. Went for dinner tonight and we had malai kebab, chicken lasooni and garlic naans. I loved the little crispy sweet salad with my malai kebabs. I have to say food was so fresh and tasty. Garlic naans were the best ones I had in Auckland. Keep it up Mantra and we will definitely return soon. Thanks and yes the service is nice too. Cheers..

About the 5th time I’ve been here for lunch. I always have the veg korma. Consistently good. Nans light and fluffy. Service not in your face. Will continue to come here when I’m out this way.

Great food... Average ambience. It is one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. Most other places use frozen marinated meat in curries, which kills the flavour. This one is definitely the one to try. Quality justify the slightly higher price.. Don't be fooled by its location...

So We Always Have The Lunch Special Here And It's Always Bomb Diggs!!.. The Butter Chicken Both Mild & Medium Are Delicious.. Generous Portions Always Thick & Creamy And The Naan Bread Never Fails.. Mantra Is Our Fave Spot For Butter Chicken 😊👌

Great meal. highly recommended and , fantastic service.  We had a variety of dishes which were recommended by the owner and all I can say is yum.  Try their Chicken Tikka Masala , Karahi chicken yum!!!<br/>Goat curry was awesome. See you guys soon

Great food - taste and quality was excellent. Service was the best. Lady serving us got me warm water without even asking, just because she noticed I had a cold (that was very sweet). We ordered  Mantra kebab as entree and for mains Chicken saag  and Lamb saag with nans and rotis, both dishes were distinctly different in taste even though both were saag (which is not the case in most Indian restaurants) lamb was cooked extremely well. <br/><br/>Impressed with great beer list.... Must try La Trappe Quadrupel!!!<br/><br/>Looking fwd to coming again and trying your lovely menu.
Max
I think this place is very average, full of cream and if u ask for spicy they just throw chilli powder in the curry. I bet when they cook at home they use a Lil powder and then FRESH CHILLIS! !!! YES FRESH ONES. Service was kind of friendly.<br/>
Zorran Mendonsa
my favourite Indian restaurant at the moment.. and i have tried a fair few! <br/><br/>why on earth is there a minimum required number of letters required by zomato?! absurd.
Sonia
Yummy food. Good choices on the menu. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. Chefs are always happy to see ya too. Interior could definitely do with a major makeover. Other than that no faults really.

This is our local Indian restaurant and takeaway and it awesome. Just had the old butter chicken and just tried Lamb Madras.<br/><br/>The flavors are amazing and the servings are more than enough... aahhh.<br/><br/>The atmosphere in the restaurant is the only downside, however it's the same as the usual Indian restaurant... I'd love to see more colour more vibrancy in the people .... an outstanding maitre d who connects with me more creating the experience to go with the food!<br/><br/>Lovely all the same.

Curry is sooooo tasty, its my favorite place for indian food now. Just hope can be doing more special, like cheap dinner set take away, curry with naan and rice set.

Mantra's is by far THE BEST indian you can find in West Auckland, staff are amazing, really attentive, food is to die for, atmosphere is very cosy, my nipples get greasy just thinking about it, if you love spice, flavour, great service with friendly staff this is the place to go.....you wont be disappointed !
Hannibaleater
Very attentive service and northern style Indian curries that are very rich and filling and cooked perfectly. We have been coming here for years and staff are great and they never fail in providing perfect service and perfectly cooked curries, naan and savouries.

Our new fave indian place in west auckland, took a while to find a good indian place out west, but found a winner with Mantra! Curries and naan were awesome. Beautiful sauce and spice, so much chicken!!! Inhaled the whole meal so quickly. Yumm!
Russell Hodgson
I love my curry being english.<br/><br/>The restaurant is small but definitely packs a bit punch with its curries.<br/><br/>Strongly recommend this place if you are looking for another place rather than your local $10 Monday to Wednesday.<br/><br/><br/>
Mark T
Great food although it was on the higher price of 'Indian'. The only letdown to our henderson Indian experience was the atmosphere. Dark colours were ever apparent inside the dining den. To note food portions were generous and the staff friendly.<br/><br/>Q. Would we go back? Yes we would.
Daniel Channing
Best in the West! Naan definitely rates an individual mention, layers upon layers of buttery goodness.. Looking forward to munching my way through the menu at my new favorite local.
Babygirl88
A group of work mates went here for lunch today, Lovely meal, I ordered the butter chicken lunch meal, great value. I also got some onion baji, we didn't see the full menu just the lunch one, so I wasn't expecting onion rings. Not sure if the waiter understood my request, all in all it was a lovely meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals, fish curry, Rogan josh.<br/>The wait for the meal was abit long, especially when you're on a work break. <br/>Maybe next time I'll make an order to go, or dine in not on a lunch break. <br/>I will definitely visit here again soon.
Foreveralone
I ordered butter chicken and a garlic pepper naan and it was tasty but didn't give me a satisfying feeling.<br/><br/>The man who took my order was kind and patient with me.

This was our first time at Mantra, celebrating Valentine's Day. The staff was very accommodating and despite of having a special Valentine's Day menu upon request they let us order from the normal menu.<br/><br/>Excellent and fast service with a constant smile despite of being busy. Great food but a bit pricey. <br/><br/>The service was great and food authentic and awesome. Definitely recommend this restaurant for Indian cuisine.<br/><br/>We will surely visit again.

We have been regularly going to Mantra since it first opened and both the food and service have never failed to impress over the years. It is our go to restaurant of choice. In terms of curry house we have certainly never found another one that comes close to meeting the consistent quality of delicious food that Mantra has to offer. The chefs take pride in their dishes, the portions are generous, the flavours unbelievable, and even for some of us who can't handle the heat they have been known to make special lamb vindaloo's that cater for my sensitive taste buds with complimentary hot sauce on the side for my partner who does like it hot. No other Indian restaurant has ever offered me the possibility of a mild vindaloo, but for Krishna and his chefs it isn't a problem.<br/><br/>Krishna, his lovely wife, and the chefs are always genuinely happy to see you and make you feel as if you're part of the family. You are certainly never left feeling as if you are just another number. <br/><br/>We have shared Mantra with friends and family, and everyone has ended up making it their curry house of choice. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mantra to anyone - you will not be disappointed.

Great selection of Amazing food... Some of the best Indian I have eaten outside of India.. Very generous portions and reasonable prices.. <br/>Super friendly accommodating staff... A must visit out West!!

Lunch menu specials are generous with curry, rice, naan and poppadom. Ordered medium goat curry which was lovely and tender. Good service. Will be back again.

Every dish that we have had from the extensive menu at Mantra has been fantastic. The staff are courteous and very welcoming. <br/>Portion sizes are generous and rice in plenty. <br/>Service... great. Relaxed atmosphere.<br/> <br/>A place to recommend.

Simply excellent. So happy to have this local to us.<br/><br/>Service...excellent. Food...excellent.<br/><br/>We dropped in to pickup our order and we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. They even asked how we had heard of them - on recommendation of a curry club. Having the door opened for us as we left was a final touch.<br/><br/>The food was some of the nicest Indian I've ever had.<br/><br/>Mantra, if you get some mobile Eftpos terminals we'll be ordering lots and lots of takeout.<br/><br/>Thanks!

We've been going to Mantra for years now. Amazing food, and very friendly, competent staff.<br/><br/>I was a little worried when the owner went back to India and sold Mantra, but the new owners are just as wonderful. Same quality food and service my family has come to expect.<br/><br/>This is our go-to place when family and friends come to stay; highly recommended.
Lisa Moore
I met up with friends - Mantra have lunch specials all week ie a full meal with curry, rice, naan bread and pompadom for around $12 each - so fantastic value. We have been going to Mantra for years. Service and food impeccable.
Adam
Quite simply amazing Indian food, with courteous service.<br/><br/>Had the Biryani, which is my standard fare at Indian restaurants, and it blew away every other Biryani I've ever had.<br/><br/>Good portion sizes, ended up bringing half home, and getting to enjoy it all over again the next day. YUM
Kari P
If you want to taste real Indian food visit mantra.<br/>They have managed to maintain the full flavours of their individual dishes without using a "one sauce cooks all" curry like so many other restaurants have adapted.<br/><br/>"Simple Indian Dining' at it's best. You will do well to find better. <br/><br/>Tastiest tastiest food ever..Hmmmm

Fantastic food - Authentic food -tandoori style- We had the Cobra beer 7.5! but pours and tastes as smooth as champagne_Afghan meatballs a must - we will be back- fabulous food and great service - good attention to our requirements. We arrived and they only had one table left - they were packed but we didnt have to wait long for our entrees- well done guys and we took food home !
Katrina Ward
This place has excellent service, top food and awesome beers. My man had the king cobra and we thoroughly enjoyed the big bottle novelties.<br/>Dhabi chicken - taste sensation<br/>Chicken saag - the best I have ever had<br/><br/>Nice and local and worth returning to.
Aaron Bennett
Great place with even better food!!!<br/><br/>Service - Excellent<br/>Food - Excellent<br/>Ambiance - Pretty average to be fair.....<br/><br/>Make sure you stipulate NZ hot if your gonna order your meal hot!!!! lol<br/>Their proper hot is a weapon not a food item!

Really good Indian restaurant in Henderson - the best curry I've eaten. The staff are really nice and helpful and the dishes are prepared and presented beautifully. The poppodoms are crispy and the portions are just right. The rice is delicious - and I'm very picky about the rice they serve in restaurants - should be steaming hot, not too sticky and not too dry.
PCS
We have dined in and had takeaway at least five times now and are gradually working our way through the menu. EVERYTHING we have eaten has been delicious, even the prawn and fish entrees which can be hit and miss in some restaurants. The takeout portions are always very generous and are always still hot when we get them home. The Afghani Keema Kofta (lamb meatballs) are definite favourites. The service is also fantastic. 100% recommend!

Last night my boyfriend and I walked into Mantra starving and really hoping to find some nice Indian food,as it was about 9.20pm,i thought we'd either get told that they closing or take out only....but that wasn't the case ! The gentleman at the counter who served us was really nice &amp; friendly we checked with him just to be sure if it was okay to dine in and he assured us it was fine, the service and food we got was brilliant he even came to check half way through the meal if everything was ok....would definitely go back.

I took my mother for a meal at Mantra last week. What a lovely evening we had, nice atmosphere/surroundings and the food was excellent. <br/>We are both originally from England and love Indian cuisine. We chose the onion Bhaji for entree, WOW, it was so delicate and light, the flavours were exquisite. We first saw how big the serving was and thought we could never eat it all but eat it we did. Then we had a delicious serving of Chicken Tika Masala and a Lamb Korma, with a garlic Naan to mop it all up. I can't wait for my friends birthday in March so I can take someone else there. It truly is the best tasting Indian food I have tasted and the service was great also. I will certainly be making regular visits and am going to have to try the takeaway service when time doesn't allow me to dine in.
Nikki Buchanan
this is the best curry you can get, if you love flavour and spice then this is the place to go, very resonible prices and byo makes it very cost effective. we often try other indian restaurants but they just don't compare so we just keep going back.<br/>definately recommend to all curry lovers
Johanna John
Tasty curries, friendly staff, good prices. Try their onion Bhaji, yum!
Vaibhav Kawale
Being handy to my office, this is our 'usual' curry place. Serves amazing curries, especially chicken goan vindaloo, lamb biryani and lamb masala. Two dollar Kingfisher beer for at lunch time makes it an even more attractive option. Staff is quite friendly. Though, certainly can improve on the music they play - repetative and loud at times.
