I went to this restaurant today for the first time in Henderson. It's the best Indian vegetarian food I've eaten in New Zealand. The food was so fresh & all the meals came together. I loved the utensils the food was served in as I wanted to take them home hehe. Please don't change your chef. I'll be back for more. :)
So good I’ve been missing proper traditional samosas since moving to NZ (where I’m from in the UK you can get them on every other street!) and I was not disappointed. They were delicately spiced, crispy and fresh. The menu is extensive and looks as though it has some original fusions. The whole shop/cafe is clean and well organised. I can’t wait to go back and try more, I’ve got my eye on the paneer pizza
The Friday special of makki di roti and sarson ka saag was absolutely amazing. And a great desi coffee to finish the meal.
We visited Bikanervala Henderson for their Wednesday Chaat special. We chose Somosa Chaat today which was truly amazing and great value at $6. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our food arrived promptly. Will return for more Chaat goodness:)
I am regular visitor there. Liked their individual items. Make ki roti and sarso ka saag is best in town. Also liked their chole bhature. I try to avoid their buffet as for some reason every time I tried I get a very bad stomach bloating that's why I order only individual item there.
Good place to go to when in a mood of trying variety of taste in one place.
Chaat, Samosa, kachodi snacks.
Mains like chole bhature and Dosa.
They have something matching to taste buds for everyone.
This is one of the best place to get some authentic indian snacks. chhole bhature and chinese bhel is one of my favourite from dish bikanervala.
Food review : We ordered Pani poori, Dahi puri n Pav Bhaji . Amazing chaat I have had so far in Auckland. Reminds me of Chaat which we get in India. Perfectly good quantitywise and qualitywise.
Authentic ambience with very friendly staff.
Service was quick n food was fresh.
Would visit again for sure !!!
One of my favourite local place to go to. Food it authentically Indian. Everything there is very nice and value for money. Must give it a try!
The good is always great. Great variety and they keep adding different things which is awesome. The only negative I’ve experienced is the customer service at the reception
Really good Indian food, we’re regulars at this place. The food is authentic Indian which is great, desserts are nice as well. I don’t usually eat jalebi because I find it too sweet but since trying theirs I’ve actually started to like it.
Huge variety of Indian vegetarian foods. Everything we had was good. Raj kachori chat was the best, even chilli idli was nice, spring rolls we're average. Fast service, clean toilets and lots of seating. Other branches don't come close to this.
Saturday and Sunday, All you can eat buffet.
All food is vegetarian, please ask the staff regarding vegan food.
Great price for what you get.
The food is very tasty and the price is exceptional for what you get. Drinks are an add-on however water is provided.
It feels a bit cramped however you can seat small families or friends groups. There are no bookings and you may need to wait outside to get a seat.
Toilets are clean and well kept.
Went in last week man this place never disappoints me.. but they really need to work on Filter coffee.
Love this place.. I always go here with my family. Reasonable pricing. Reasonable quantity never has let me down on any dishes. Bring the authentic flavours of Northern-India. Always my go. And will always come back..
Chole bhature was 5/5, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Samosa was 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jalebi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Masala dosa 2/5 ⭐️⭐️
I would surely visit again for mostly north indian cusine but wont recommend for south indian dishes.
A good thing about this place is that everything is vegetarian so everything on the menu is fair game. The menu itself it quite large and so it can be very intimidating particularly if you're not sure on what to get. I ended up getting the Henderson Thali to try and taste a bit of everything. I ordered at the counter but it did look like you are able to order at the table, just scan the QR code on the table.
It took about 30 minutes to get the plate. Although there were;t many people eating in there were a few getting takeaways. What was exciting is that the food was served by a robot.
the naan was nice but it was a bit raw in some places. I wasn't a fan of the pickles since they were a bit bitter. Everything else was amazing. the papri chat in the middle was my favourite. Crispy papri and the topping were quite balanced and delicious. I enjoyed all the curries that came with it. I did like that it was a different protein in each one, paneer, chickpea, lentil, potato and Manchurian dumpling. Each curry had its own flavour and it was really nice. The whole plate was quite large and really filling. I also got a Gulab jamun for dessert which was also quite nice.
It was a nice place to have vegetarian Indian food which is different from ordinary ones.
Been coming here for years. Polite, friendly service. Generally good food. Dahi puri, lassi, etc. are good. Bhel puri could use some improvement. Good selection of mithai. The robot waiter is a fun novelty for the kids.
We had this Baahubali Thali which was really amazing and is enough for 2 people. And also had Samosa's which were very well flavored and well cooked.
Best value lunch in Auckland. All you can eat Indian veg buffet of north, south and Indo/chinese Indian food. Small but perfectly rounded mix of dishes and condiments plus bread for $20. No indentification on the dishes so it's all a bit of a surprise but we didnt find a dish we didn't like. The pea curry a standout!
Very friendly staff here too. Gets busy, there may be a small wait but we were looked after well.
Such a happy atmosphere this restaurant has!
Found this place very close to where I stay and well I must say it reminded me of India. Having visited many Indian restaurants in Auckland, this is the only place with such Indian vibes, it feels like you're in Delhi.
We ordered chole bhature and sweet lassi, both the dish and beverage tasted really good.
Light on pocket with a vast variety and various options.
A must visit if you're craving for some chat, lassi and North Indian food.
Had the Pani Puri's and dahi papdi chaat along with masala dosa. The Puri was not fresh and slightly stale however with all the ingredients mixed together, it tasted well. The dahi papdi chaat was nice but felt it could have some papdis in it. Altogether it was a nice experience
