Review Fabric Cafe Bistro - Hobsonville

Richard Surkus
Great place with a good location, lovely meals all round. Pictured is seafood chowder, lamb rotti and chicken burger. Chicken burger had a bit more heat (chilli) than I was expecting, but still enjoyable.

Lovely restaurant by the water. We had breakfast on a beautiful sunny day. I ordered farmhouse eggs with Sourdough Bread and sausage and my niece got the smoked fish on toast. In addition we had a latte and a flat white. We enjoyed our food, although I was surprised to note that the bread was fried!! I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was just toasted lightly with a little butter, but heh, a little grease never hurt anyone!!

Great location and vibe. Parking can be quite challenging, but it's worth a visit during quieter times. The food was average and predictable, but the barista coffee was outstanding. The service staff members are all very friendly, and I strongly recommend you to try it sometime.

We ended up here after a lovely circuit of the Hobsonville Coastal Walkway. A beautiful setting right on the water. The food was excellent, with attention to detail. The Nicoise Salad correctly had a soft-boiled egg, rather than hard-boiled, and mustard seeds. Iced coffee was delicious. The fries, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, were enhanced by truffle oil. The service was excellent as well, despite the cafe being very busy.

I love the food here. I've been here 3 times so far, always enjoyed my meals. Highly recommended.

Excellent coffee. Highly recommended. Wafting cheeseburger and the lamb ribs. Nice ambience. Excellent staff.

Luckily we’d arrive before 11.30 as breaky was still on the offer and we were not disappointed at all. I had the Smoked Kahawai $23 which was to die for so delicious !!! I got the jackpot thought because the Avocado toast looked a wee small for a dollar less. Love the big breakfast up size for hubby though you can chose any breakfast and add hashbrown, bacon, sausage, tomato for only $15 Everyone commented on the sourdough toast and just the food in general well worth the visit to this great location- service a little slow though and it wasn’t particularly busy but all forgiven when I got my breakfast Can’t wait to go back

Pleasant spot on the waterfront by the boardwalk and water taxi. Good service, pleasant atmosphere. Would come again. Also part of a circular walk/ run if you fancy.. Good selection of cakes and food.

We went there a couple of days ago and had outside seats. View was amazing and the seats were comfortable and perfect to sit outside. We ordered cherry soda and fish of the day which was salmon. Staff kindly explained what was on the menu on that day and apologized that some menus were not available. The salmon skin was very crispy and the other part was very tender. I also loved salad. The walkway was right behind the cafe, so it was nice to spend time walking, seeing the sunset.

It can be a bit crowded on weekends but it's a good place for brunch with a good view, the food was good, It could take some time to get the food on the table cuz I think they are short of staff, either way they were lovely.

Best vegan Buddha bowl I’ve had in a long time - so pretty but more importantly- tasty! Service was friendly and efficient and management attentive Lovely relaxed atmosphere with such picturesque views We need more places like this in Tāmaki Makaurau

Turned up to the counter to make an order but had to wait for more than 5mins until hear that I have to order at the table. No one tried to serve me until I call a staff to ask. Didnt like their customer service at all.
Had the most amazing brunch bowl - it was incredibly fresh and suitable to all dietary needs. I was also pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was - a massive bonus for such a delicious dish! The staff were also super friendly and helpful with having a toddler present.

Had lunch outside in the sun, all 5 of us were happy with our varied choices brunch/lunch choices. The food was tasty and delicious. Service also good. Free sunscreen which we took advantage of ;-) Will come back again soon!

Really enjoyed dinner here. The simple, rustic and modern interior is very nice and isn't too distracting. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either.

I came here to celebrate Valentine's Day with my girlfriend, and I'm proud to say it was enjoyable. Overall it was a nice experience; Good interior vibe, Special celebration 3-set meal, and a nice view facing the seaside along Hobsonville wharf.

Atmosphere is amazing. Located right next to the “lake”, it’s so cool. Especially in summer days. Food is nice, drinks are good. A good place for brunch or dinner. Only thing - the salmon needs improvement, really did not like the way it is “marinated”.

Amazing restaurant on the point.

Great cafe to sit down, enjoy the view and have a delicious meal. We came on a Saturday for lunch and managed to grab one of their last tables outside.

I enjoyed the vegan grains bowl with avocado, pomegranate, raw beetroot slaw, hummus and crispy chickpeas. The grain was well seasoned and very flavourful. My friend's beef cheek benedict served on thick brioche toast was also well received!

I was really excited to visit this cafe in front of the wharf but turns out my expectations were too high. Must admit however, the vibe and atmosphere of the cafe was nice and peaceful. We ordered fries, cheese selection, and last and least, the tiger prawns. The Tiger Prawns. Expecting something grand, when I saw the stingy number of prawns on the plate, I was not happy. We were served FOUR Tiger Prawns accompanied by some pesto, salsa, watercress and a lime wedge for $22! No, don’t get me wrong, the flavour was splendid; we just weren’t happy about the lack of generosity. Overall, this place is one of those mediocre cafes with a nice view and atmosphere.

I visit Fabric often to get a taste of their amazing coffee and take in the beautiful view outside. Come night, their Espresso martini’s are just as amazing and the view, even better. All of the staff are so welcoming which makes the experience a solid 10/10.I recently ordered their vegan grain bowl (pictured) and would definitely come back for more!

Food was good, location and atmosphere made the place nice, however the staff kept asking if drinks were for us, but they were for another table. It happened approximately 4 times, that was my only quarrel. Overall really nice place to eat

We couldn’t find our way to a restaurant that we intended to go to and ended up at the wharf, so we decided to try this cafe. At first we thought it was great, we were sat at a table (not far from the kitchen), and the wait staff was nice and friendly. But then we realised that it was not such a great idea to come into this cafe.
Firstly, my daughter ordered a thick-shake, but they’re out of stock.
Secondly, our order for 2 bowls of chunky fries never arrived. We waited and waited thinking they would come.... Finally, after my mother in-law finished eating her main dish, I decided to ask the wait staff...
After 30 minutes of finishing our mains, 1 bowl of chunky fries came (we ordered 2 bowls), hmm.... we’re not impressed ☹️.
Our third issue was the noise that came from the kitchen staff and the coffee guy. They literally shouted every time they had the food and the drinks ready, and they were very loud !!! My daughter was so annoyed that she just wanted to go even before our meals were out.
Luckily the French Toast was nice, according to my husband and my mother in-law. So I thought I’d better give this cafe a 3 star review...

Could not fault Fabric, service was great with all staff being friendly and happy to help with any request. All our food came out in one lot which was great, large portions and very well thought out presentation made the meal enjoyable. The location of Fabric is next to none with stunning views of the water.

My relative visiting NZ really loved Eggs Benedict w Smoked Salmon and Cappuccino here.
My father was not familiar with cafe's menu and only ordered cheap ones. After we all saw the plate with only one meat ball sized croquet on it came out... Laughter broke out. My mother gave some of her food to him😅

There was a happening that one of the dish we ordered had been forgotten, the lady who looks the serving manager noticed my empty table asking if I was OK and checked the ordering system quickly and apologized for that.

The food finally came and I enjoyed it which was slow cooked beef cheek on brioche bread w poached eggs😋 so yum!!

The ambience inside and the green view of the opposite shore out of the window were relaxing and refreshing.

I’ll start by saying that the setting is stunning and the service is prompt, but every single meal on our table lacked by a country mile. The pumpkin risotto (and the only vegetarian main on a very selective menu) had no hint of pumpkin and was undercooked and soupy; the fish was overdone (perhaps the chef agreed as it was knocked off our bill), and the burger- a substitute for the steak that Fabric had sold out of by 7:30PM on a Saturday, was relatively underwhelming for the price but was sadly the best on the table. Come dessert, Fabric had also sold out of the creme brûlée- by 8PM! I will once again reiterate that the service was pleasing and the location pleasant, but I would recommend giving it a miss if you’re looking for fine dining- Fabric is more of a poor imitation.

I went with my partner for brunch, it’s a great spot with a stunning view. Service was great and we loved our meals. An outside seat is really hard to get so you may want to try booking one in advance.

This cafe has large space. The manager is passionate to us. But staffs there always talk to each other and forgot our coffees even we waved hands. The food are not tasty which needs to be improved.

Always greeted well, have only come for breakfast. Great coffee every time, never a bad one so far. Usually have the Eggs Bene with bacon, love the kale on top, its a real nice addition.

We visited for the first time on Sunday, the place was pretty busy but we got a great outdoor table overlooking the view, which turns out was the saving grace. We ordered our meals and some drinks and waited. Long story short, with no warning at the time of order about long waiting times for food, we sat for 1 hour and 20 minutes before our meals arrived. After the first hour, somebody apologised to us for the long wait, at this stage, hubby was on his 3rd beer to pass the time. When the meals finally arrived, we ate and left pretty quickly as we'd had more than enough sitting, the food was average. A thoughtful cafe may have offered us some free coffees or a small discount considering the long wait... but this didn't happen. Will certainly not be in a hurry to return, Very disappointing.

Came here for brunch on a weekday and enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Food was ok, just as what I would expect from a cafe with those sort of prices. Service was good and had an enjoyable experience overall so will be keen to come back again.

Fabric cafe bistro is one of my favourite go-to restaurants purely because of the beautiful setting; especially on a sunny day.
I’ve had a few selection of their menus and the food is so good too - fancier than normal neighbourhood cafes but still affordable considering the views you get.

•The most recent ‘Waimauku beef burger with swiss cheese, tomato jam, cos lettuce, pickled red onions and crispy potatoes’ I had was (in all honesty) okay.
The beef patty seemed a bit dry and crumbled apart when bitten into rather than being juicy and succulent, and the bread bun was a bit dry as well. It would’ve been nicer if it was softer to moisten up the taste. The other ingredients worked well with the overall taste and the cos lettuce was a good choice for the lettuce. The crispy potatoes are baby potatoes and they were the best things to happen. They were so crunchy on the outside but sweet and soft on the inside, and the aioli sauce makes it even juicier. Overall, I’d give it a 7/10, points mostly from the potatoes.

Such a great little place to go! The decor and atmosphere of the place is so nice. The staff are super friendly and genuine. The food itself its pretty ok. Have had one bad experience in the past but now I always order the same bacon eggs bene. Very yum except the bacon is super salty so avoid that if youre not a fan.

Absolutely love the location. Right on the water with big beautiful umbrellas for when it’s really sunny. Really enjoyable. Easy to get a table and friendly staff. However, both times I’ve been now the food took over 40 minutes to arrive. Being busy is cool, but I’ve been to far larger, busier places and not waited that long. I think simply advising patrons there is a wait on food is the polite thing to do. And the music was quite loud ‘club’ music which didn’t really suit the tone of the place, I would have much preferred something a little more chill for Sunday brunch. Overall, I would recommend going.

Fabric Cafe Bistro damn where do I start. I come here almost every weekend for an iced mocha and they're so yummy and perfect AND they have flat lids which I love love love. I came here for dinner recently and was super impressed. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly and made sure we felt welcomed and enjoyed our meals. For a drink I got a soda which was raspberry and lemon but it didn't taste of anything it literally tasted like sparkling water , but that wasn't the restaurants fault thats the brand of soda which was 'Six Barrel Soda'. We got some bread for starters and it came with a spread and that was so yum. For a main I got the chicken breast and It was so yummy and just delish!!!! I loved it and the rest of my family also loved their meals. For dessert I got the Dark Chocolate Parfait which was divine 10/10. And the restaurant/cafe is super modern and clean and the bathrooms are boujee as hell. For sure will be back here it's one of my new fav places to eat or grab an iced mocha!!! x
Karina
Came in for lunch with the family and we all really enjoyed our meals. I got the 'mashed avocado' which was so good and it came with balsamic glaze on top which I really liked. Although I would prefer to have fresh tomatoes rather than cooked, it's still something different. One of the best avocado on toasts i've had. My Mum got the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and she really liked it and my whole family enjoyed their meals a lot. The actual cafe is really modern and the service is really quick and friendly. Came back recently and had the green smoothie which was refreshing and not too sweet which was good. My Mum had a coffee which she said was really good. To eat I had french toast which was soooo yum and I loved the berry jam on it. One of my fave cafes, wanna come back soon :))
Michelle
food and service is great, I love the egg benedict the most. The side salad is a good portion and the tatse is interesting with some pear slices and cheese, both my husband & I like it.
Cecelia
Been here few days ago, the view is good and service is nice. Sadly, the food was unpleasant. I order Waimauku beef burger and Market fish. The burger bread are quite dry and the fish feel not fresh, for me the fish had too strong fishy taste.
Trish
Had brunch here, it was lovely. Got the charcuterie platter and eggs Benedict with maple bacon. So good! Coffee was fab as well. Great decor and atmosphere to add.

Not very dog friendly so wouldn’t recommend if your dog goes everywhere with you as a family member.

We were sitting at the outside table specifically because we had our dog. Our tiny dog was sitting on our jumper, not directly on the chair. One maitre-d was unnecessarily confronting when she told us this was not allowed which is understandable. Other cafe patrons commented on her abrupt/rude approach. Maybe communicate with your staff members in the first place so you are all on the same page as was told initially that our dog can sit on our laps or on chairs if using a cover.

Fabric is such a cute cafe, very spacious, amazing view of hobsonville point and excellent service. Was so happy with my meal. Such nice and kind waiters making sure your meal is fine every now and again and definitely recommend coming here if ur around hobby.

I have been here twice now. It is a beautiful location however the service is not amazing. On my most recent visit the waitress cleared my plate from my tiramisu while I was still eating the biscotti.
I also think it is quite over priced for what it is and very small portions but that’s just my opinion. The gnocchi (didn’t photograph) I ordered for lunch was only a couple of mouthfuls.

We walked in for Sunday brunch and it was definitely a very busy bustling cafe. Getting a table for two was easy, so we were seated promptly. The staff were polite but it was hard to get someone’s attention once we were ready to order. We ordered the chocolate thick shake and mango passion, and 2 eggs benedicts. The drinks didn’t take too long and my thick shake was amazing. Very chocolatey. Unfortunately that was the only highlight for me. The food took at least 40 mins to arrive. When it did arrive it was well plated with interesting components. However, it was the most mediocre eggs benedict I’ve ever tasted. It wasn’t terrible, it was just bland. Otherwise the ambience is nice, by the water and next to the Catalina markets.

Me and my partner went here for some breakfast. I love every bit of their interiors, very chic and rustic. The ambient and view were superb! Food was so good we loved it. I had the avo on toast and my partner had the house-made baked beans and chorizo. Coffee was strong just like how I wanted it. Also good customer service. We will definitely come back here again and try their dinner menu.

Beautiful setting in the hobby point waterfront morning or night. Went for breakfast and sat outside on the deck. Great coffee nice and tasty and had the home made baked beans, very nice great take on a classic couldn't fault it. Great new place exactly what the area needed!

Wonderful view and friendly service.
But food isn't much impresive . General price as potion.
But you can enjoy relaxing and good atomosphere .
Tapioca pudding with coconut yogurt, strawberries, lime and mint 😊 this dish was light fresh and delicious! Accompanied by a chai coconut tea, great start to a Sunday. Not to mention the beautiful outdoor deck on the water with countless 🐶 dogs cruising by! Worth making the trip out to Hobsonville for sure! 💕

One of the most beautiful restaurants I have even been in! The most attentive staff gave the most amazing service. We had dinner on Valentine’s Day and everything was amazing, the wait for food was around 30 minutes so we were offered a complimentary round of drinks. It was so lovely, I’ve waited much longer at other restaurants for far less quality of food. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the price and portion size but to be honest you are paying for an incredible location and amazing ambience and general effort! If you want 10$ meals go to dominion rd. Thank you fabric!!

Standard cafe menu, nothing special about the food... But if you enjoy having a coffee/wine/beer or a meal on the wharf with quirt waterview, this place is perfect~
Georgia
Went here for a lunch with the girls and asked for 5 chocolate thick shakes to then get told they haven’t had their ice cream delivered yet when count down is literally up the road and the time being 2pm that day, I suggest you be ready for any orders next time

I don’t find myself wondering down Hobsonville Point way very often (as I am located on the East Coast Bays) however I make my way to the farmers market every so often. It would’ve been a good 7 to 8 months since I had last visited so a lot had changed at Hobsonville Point in the hangers where there market is held, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this little bistro and were intrigued 🤔 we were greeted by the lovely host and as we didn’t have a booking there was a 20 minute wait which was not bad at all. We were seated at a lovely table indoors in the sunshine of the beautiful day, our table waiter seemed a little nervous but she did a great job nonetheless ❤️ I ordered the potato gnocchi with spring vegetables and my boyfriend ordered the charcuterie platter as well as a coffee for the both of us. I am not sure how long this place has been open but some of the staff seemed nervous and not fully comfortable in their roles at the restaurant but their friendly personalities shined as well as the food being a good sized portion and absolutely delicious 😋 we will definitely be back when we eventually make our way back to Hobsonville Point x

Came here for lunch and got the duck leg ragu pasta along with some chips and a pina colada. There was a short wait for a table and we ended up sitting outside directly in the NZ harsh summer sun - it would’ve been nice it we had a shade umbrella on our table like some other tables had. The staff were kind and attentive, even our dog got a bowl with water to drink :). The restaurant has a really nice minimalist aesthetic and is overlooking the water. The pasta was delicious! The duck was so tender and soaks up the sauce to make it super juicy and delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly and also coated in the sauce, with the pine nuts and rocket adding texture and freshness to the richness of the sauce. The chips were nothing special and we had to ask for them to bring sauce to dip them in as they’d be too dry on their own. Prices are a bit steep in terms of portion size, nether the less I still walked away full and satisfied. I’ll be back for brunch and coffee sometime.

Food - 9/10
Service - 8.5/10
Price - 8/10
Ambience - 9.5/10

been eyeing out this one for a while and I finally got to go eat here on my birthday! The one and only thing I have to say is considering the prices of their menu, it is well worth it! Did not regret going all out for this occasion - the atmosphere, the experience, the service and food made up for the prices which is all you could ever ask for.

Went here for brunch on a busy Saturday. Staff were lovely and the food was good. We had the Ceasar salad, Fabric breakfast and the French toast, and the homemade sodas. The only points for improvemnt would be 1. The sodas need more flavour, especially the raspberry one. 2. The mushrooms on the Fabric breakfast were soggy, had that watery taste and was paired with a sour/bitter mix of herbs like a zaatar which didn't compliment them. Overall the mushrooms were very unpleasant to eat.
The rest of the food was delicious! And the French toast was certainly a highlight. We would go again.
Hana
Cannot fault this place, we dined here on a busy day and were instantly seated inside. The service was impeccable and we noticed that there were quite a few wait staff ensuring short wait times and attentive service. The menu takes a refined approach to classic breakfast options whilst maintaining a very reasonable price. We had the home made baked beans and the eggs with bacon jam, both dishes created silence amongst us whilst we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was also a nice personalised touch to take a name for the table rather than a number and avoiding that awkward conversation of pointing out your table when trying to pay. I would highly recommend this cafe to couples, groups and families, I also noticed that dogs were allowed in the outdoor seating space, making for a perfect place to stop after a stroll around the bay :)
Kelvin
Love the area that the cafe is located, specially on a nice sunny day sitting outside :).
The staff are friendly and the food is good.
Personally not a lot of things for me to choose from but the dishes are good. Great place to just sit down and have a relaxing morning with friends and family.
Gnxsta23
We had our Christmas lunch here yesterday, food was good I think the portions could of been a lil bit bigger , our waitress was a lil bit annoying trying to clear our table a bit to fast asking if we are finished with a bowl of chips and it was still half full taking away my mates main which he wanted to dip his chips in the duck gravy lol and the dessert was tiny we had the tiramisu which I couldn’t taste any coffee in it just the shit load of coco powder on top of it taste ok tho! I must say the hot chips were 10/10 supper tasty and crunchy overall we all left happy thanks

Located in one of the most beautiful locations in Auckland, this place has an amazing ambience with a soft albeit a bit bland decor. Patrons are greeted by a friendly face and throughout the visit , the service is attentive but not overpowering.

The food doesn't fare as high. On two different visits my husband ordered the frittata which was nothing more than a big tasteless omelet with few vegetables and cheese dotted with few pine nuts . He was deeply disappointed and expressed his dissatisfaction to the waiter who politely apologised and promised to let the manager know (despite the complaint , we were charged for the frittata). I ordered the pan fried market fish and the second time the duck ragu. Both dishes were nice but for the price charged ,the portions were on the stingy side and should have been accompanied by fries or roasted vegetables.

The saving grace of this place is its location on the water front, however, the prices are on the steep side and unjustified particularly due to the small portions and the absence of a special culinary skills in any of the dishes.
On a good note, we both loved their hot chocolate which was rich in flavour and was the closest to the one we drank in good cafes in the Nederland.

To sum it up, if you don't mind paying over the top prices for average food in order to enjoy the waterfront, then this is your place,
Manu
Was very excited when I heard about this place a year or so ago. Came here with a big group, which was probably not the best idea. Portion size was definitely a let down which is a shame because the place is great ambience and location wise. May come back but will be a while before I do. And definitely not with a big group too.

Popped in here at lunchtime on a weekday. Heard good things but wanted to try it out for myself. Lovely space they’ve created in what was once the hangars for the seaplanes). Really friendly & efficient service. Ordered the pan fried market fish. Absolutely delicious. Light yet tasty. Given it was my day off, I decided to indulge in some dessert too. Ordered the tiramisu. Again, delicious. Came away very full and very impressed. I am already looking forward to my return visit.

The place had welcoming vibe the moment i walked in, bright semi-industrial interior with natural wooden furnitures were good choice to go along.

Welcomed by friendly staff and got offered a preferred seat. Also witnessed a staff servicing next table kindly explaining to customer about outside where alot of construction was going on.

I had their burger which was $25 being the most affordable in main meal section. However being honest with flavour and plating of the meal was slightly disappointing for its price but couldn’t complain about it as i had higher expectation.
(Explains why my camera was still sitting on the table not doing its job)
I would give 3/5 for main meal price but overall they had good idea to target differently with breakfast meal and smaller dish.
Recommended to those who wish to be safe with their food as i am more of adventurous person with food.

Menu was easy to read and straight forward.

Coffee was average to be honest. But no complain to their Barista who made great coffee. I would say bad choice of beans they were using.

Overall I had good experience as I was told this place was a must to visit. lovely place to be and relax with friends and family. I will definitely come back for new dish.

Ambiance 5/5
Food 4/5
Price 4/5
Service 5/5
Coffee 4/5

A fantastic addition to the local dining scene with a spectacular terrace overlooking the water and native bush. They have done an excellent job converting the old building to a modern, contemporary hospitality venue. I have only been in about 3 times but each time the service has been good to great. Delicious coffee and pasteis de nata twice and once for breakfast where I had a really nice version of grilled mushrooms. Auckland prices as expected but worth every penny. Look forward to having a few glasses of wine on the terrace in the summer. Hopefully, the Little Creatures establishment opens soon because Fabric is super busy at times

Fabric is a short ferry ride from the Auckland CBD and the wharf is a couple of skips away from Fabric's front door. It is a beautifully fitted out place with a great view of Catalina Bay's body of water with the indoor and outdoor dining experience. The food and coffee are all impeccable with quality service to match. They also have a great selection of drinks available.

Just a coffee and a bite to eat on a cloudy Sunday morning. Coffee hit the spot (they've got a cute coffee window for takeaways - great idea), and we shared 2 breakfast plates between the three of us which was just enough for a little something. Dishes reasonably priced and service was super quick! They've got lovely outdoor seating (better for a sunny day, but they provide blankets) and the place is light and airy and well lit. Standard but sophisticated menu and tons of staff too. Nice place, good excuse to get out of the city and check out the markets too!
Danielle Hanwright
Beautiful decor and very friendly staff. Definitely more on the expensive side but food was delicious and of the caliber you’d expect for the price. Would definitely go there again! Not as busy as I would have expected either although they are recently opened

Went for lunch today, and have to say every single thing we tried was amazing! We had the potato gnocchi with burnt butter, duck Ragu pappardelle, hand cut fries, profiteroles, and buttermilk panna cotta. Can’t wait to go back and try out more of the menu! Great setting, helpful waiters and beautiful views over the water. 5/5!

Definitely a great, new addition to Hobsonville! I loved the interior and would describe it as minimalist-contemporary with a high ceiling and gently-lit, which was rather inviting on a cold winter’s evening.
The main meals were absolutely fantastic with hands-down the best gnocchi I've had this year. Definitely quality over quantity though as I was rather disappointed to still be hungry at the end of the meal.

The desserts lacked the finesse and flavours of the savoury meals unfortunately. The creme brule was the stand-out dish of the four, while the panna cotta and ice-cream were my least favourite.

I am hopeful that as time progresses that the chef will iron out these small details, as it really was an enjoyable evening!

Been here at least once a week from opening! Such a lovely spot with a view that makes you feel as if you’ve escaped to a holiday! Staff were very down to earth and welcoming from the second I arrived
Eggs bene and Duck leg ragu are my recommendations
Cherish D'Cotta
This place is the place to be! First time here and such an enjoyable experience. Food was delicious and came out prompt. Service was friendly and warm. Views to accompany your experience rain or shine.. in our case we had both and it was still great!! Definitely recommended !!

Delicious gnocchi and beautiful view. Yes the portions are small but it’s not the local pub! Highly recommend for a special occasion. Great location our west and over the water.

Came here on opening day and waited over 30 mins just for coffee and wasn’t even that busy , gave it the benefit of the doubt as it was the first day! The chippies were yummy tho :) came back a few weeks later , but was once again disappointed , coffee was very bitter (just a picky barista) but also very small . Am willing to give another go in the future

The ambiance is warm and modern, great care has been taken in the fit-out of this restaurant. The Waitstaff were informed and helpful with the menu. A small but fabulous menu! We loved everything we ordered, I can honestly say one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The Lamb rump was beyond incredible.

All new Resturants have teething problems but the overall experience was exceptional, so pleased to have a new local that is outstanding. Will be back

Every part works well
Walked in greeted and taken to a table by a happy smiling and friendly maître d
Then the waitress arrived fast gave us menus and took our coffee order
We also ordered mushrooms on toast and the chorizo meal
Coffee was fabulous so much so that we had another one
Food was great , excellent flavours
Loved the place relaxing and fun
First time there after hearing so much about it ,
Highly disappointing!
Decor is beautiful clean and Sophisticated .
And location is spot on!
Food is over priced very small and menu is tiny with very little choice .
My friend ordered duck and expected a nice serving perhaps a leg and it was more like shredded duck in a bed of pasta !
Drinks are served in tall glasses with no straws Making it hard to drink .
My salad missed a key ingredient when I asked for it I was told I will they will bring it except it never came .
Over all experience dissatisfied it’s not what you expect if you are hungry don’t go there!
Hannah
Absolutely beautiful food. This is the sort of place to take someone you want to impress. I have been 3 times and couldn’t fault the service, quality of meals, presentation or beautiful setting and decor. Yes the food is not cheap but it’s worth it to appreciate tasty and carefully selected food by excellent chefs. The meals are not huge so we find having cheese and nibbles at home beforehand does the trick and it’s actually quite nice not leaving feeling sickly full.
Veggie Delights
Was super excited to try out this new restaurant but was very very underwhelmed. There weren't many vegetarian options on the menu but the ones that were there sounded delicious!

We ordered the gnocchi, the roast vegetables, the confit mushrooms, and chips to share between two. We expected a LOT of food to come, especially for the price we paid. But unfortunately the portions were very, very small.

Now for such high prices and such small portions you would expect the food to be amaaaazing. Unfortunately, it was less than average. The pieces of gnocchi were way bigger than gnocchi should be, and weirdly shaped. They were burnt on the bottom and their consistency was chewy and and pastey instead of light and fluffy. The sauce/dressing was flavourless and the whole dish lacked seasoning. Probably one of the worst gnocchi dishes I've ever had.

The roast vegetables were nice but tasted like something I could have made in the oven at hoke fairly easily, for a much smaller price. The mushrooms were lovely but such a tiny portion that they could not make up for the rest of the food.

I'm very disappointed as I had such high hopes for this new restaurant in such a beautiful spot! Fingers crossed they better their menu with some time - perhaps I will visit them again once they have been open for a while longer.

First time to try Fabric this Saturday. Super busy at lunch time. Spent half an hour waiting for dinning seat, and another hour for food service. But the dishes are definitely worthy for your wait. Braised Duck Leg Ragu is tasteful , duck leg is fresh and Homemade Pappardelle gets the consistency of the Duck leg sauce right there.
My friend ordered Eggs Benedict Bacon, you got two small size egg Benedict in your plate. Very yummy.
Both the dishes we ordered are small/average size. Price is average high. But the food definitely beats the prices there. Highly recommended Fabric Cafe Bistro.
