Review Ocean View Restaurant - Hokitika

We were only able to get seated on a busy Friday because we were a couple and not a larger party. We split a plate of roast lamb and lamb ribs to allow a splurge on desserts, it was Thanksgiving Day in the US after all! Limited ocean views from both veranda and especially in the main dining room due to breakwater at shoreline.

Serendipitously dropped by here for dinner as the other place we had intended to go was full. The food was good - lamb had no gamey smell, and the meat and seafood platters were plenty for sharing, at a very reasonable price. We definitely expected to pay more because it was a hotel’s restaurant, but ended up paying less than we did in other restaurants during our trip. The service staff were also very friendly and attentive to our needs. Great experience overall!

Ordered surf and turf $42 excellent quality. Steak done just as ordered and despite it being busy service was very good. Nice location with good views over the west coast. Highly recommend.

My wife and I visited and ordered the lamb and the pork mains. The pork was literally in my top 3 meals of pork of all time. My wife's lamb was her top of all time. Compliments to the chef as we were not expecting this in hokitika. Best feed ever!

A group of us went out for dinner, we had the lamb and the catch of the day. We were not disappointed, food and service were great, and the view was amazing. Will definitely go back when I’m in Hokitika next.

One of the best experiences I have had in NZ. Food was delicious, tender, right temperature and good timing. Not agree with others saying it's overpriced. For 2 entries, 2 mains, desert and a bottle of wine we paid 150! More then acceptable in my opinion. All staff were very friendly, attentive and swift. Will highly recommend to all my friends.

Best dinner on the coast so far. Basking in the sun. Good sized portions. Loved the variety of veges.

Nice food and attendent personal, setting up heaters when it became a bit more chilly on the nice outside terrace.

This place deserves 5☆ The food was great! Good size serving. Staffs were great and helpful. And the baked potatoes were the best I have ever eaten. And the Pork Belly was amazing!

We went for the seafood and if course when you are on the West Coast.. here for the White Bait fritters as well.. They were were awesome.. great view looking at sea while dining
