Stone Oven Bakery - Hokitika - Photo album

Our first visit late one afternoon wasn’t great timing and there was very limited choices of food. But we gave them a second chance and went for breakfast. My coffee was exceptionally good, like rocket fuel! So good I ordered a second. The food was average. The big breakfast was ok but we couldn’t w
Came here for breakfast while staying in Hotikita. We got the eggs Benedict and waffles - both delicious! The iced vanilla latte was delicious as well.
Enjoyed the food here and the atmosphere. Staff were great. We had to wait a while for our food but they were really busy.
Called in for a coffee and bite to eat with a friend. Loved the stained glass windows. Staff were lovely and friendly . We both had a toasted sandwich which was delicious, made from freshly baked bread. Service was with a smile, and a recommendation for next visit.
Asian choices include Philippine favorites, eg Tapsilog etc. They have whitebait, too.
We came here just being curious of the positive reviews, well they are not wrong. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill, comfy and cool. Staff area also extremely friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priori
Drove through to grab a coffee and a sandwich. I thought it was going to be okay but ended up being amazing! My coffee with soy milk tasted perfectly and the chicken sandwiches were incredible, tasty and fresh ingredients. Super recommend!
Great food and location. Loved their eggs benedict with bacon, very nice and soft bread. Coffee is great too! There's a nice beach just behind the shop, good to have a walk after your meal.
Pork belly for lunch was lovely. Probably needs the fat to be more crispy than chewy. Reasonable price. Good value for money. Nice to see Filipino breakfast/meals - i wish i had seen the menu beforehand but i did enjoy what i have ordered. Filipino staff were friendly and hard working. A must plac
Dicey and his really friendly and graceful staff made my early morning visit a great start to the day... Beautiful old style cafe/bakery on one half, sit down eatcafe on other half... Clean, bright and airy place with pretty lead light window details... And the coffee very nutty and full flavoured..
We enjoyed very good Eggs Benedict this morning. The salmon version was nice as should be, but particularly the vegetarian version was surprisingly well composed and tasty.
Delicious food, beyond words. Fast and good service. Able to provide for many dietary requirements. Lovely decor and vibe. A must stop in Hokitika!
Great sausage roll just out of the oven. The toasted sandwich was advertised as by itself and I just wanted a classic kiwi toasted sandwich, was told it came with chips and if I didn't want them it was still the same price. Annoying as it wasn't advertised and $15 for a toastie is too expensive. S
This is a cute little place to stop by the beach. I really enjoyed my creamy chicken pie and the coffee was just perfect.
I was traveling through Hokitika about a month and was looking for a casual breakfast joint. I found the Stone Oven. Glad I did. I had one of the best omelettes I ever had anywhere. Sorry I only had one morning to have breakfast there. Definitely worth it.
We recently stopped in Hokitika during our drive between Franz Josef and Arthur's Pass and had a good, quick breakfast at the Stone Oven Bakery. During our visit, we found their Peppered Steak and Steak & Mushroom pies to be pretty good. Crust was flaky, filling included plenty of good chunks of me
