Hands down the best Indian in New Zealand and the manager/owner is very friendly and polite. Our food was super tasty and my lamb saagwala was out of this world. Cannot recommend them enough! This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant.

I have been always a fan of indian restaurant and i love all the spices it has to offer! Oh well, this is a first time to eat here since it was a venue for a friend's 1st birthday. It was a great place to be! Friendly staff, food was authentic and has all the checks on my list! Would be happy to come back. Their mango ice cream and goat curry was a hit!

This restaurant served us beautifully presented delicious food, catering for both meat eaters and a gluten free (celiac) vegetarian. The staff were welcoming and attentive - such good service! I would highly recommend it to all and look forward to visiting again soon

went there today for a coffee, but end up dinning, food was awesome great service from the manager was on duty, will definitely bring the kids next time.

Service at this establishment was appalling! We were served our entree and then over an hour wait! With no waiter or waitress asking if we were okay! We asked more than once, to see how far away our main meal was, only to get "just 2 more minutes sir" what's 2 more minutes added onto the time we had already been waiting right? We finally got the food at 2145 hours, by this time me we had had enough of waiting, asked for the food to be taken away and packed. Never ever have I eaten in an establishment where I have had to ask staff the waiting time on an order. If management aren't following up on staff performance, then there is no way the staff are going to perform & give their best. If your going to work in a job where exceptional service is needed, then do just that!!!!!!! We didn't even get to eat the food!

Tonight we ordered chicken tikka and chicken bollywood special, along with panel tikka masala and dal makhani. We normally love your food, but today Both the chicken dishes looked and tasted nearly the same. The paneer tikka was very different to the chicken tikka. The paneer tikka was yum but the chicken tikka was very average. I've had the same dish with you guys before and it's always been good. The Bollywood special also tasted different from other times we've had it and was very average. Felt a bit let down, tbh.

After hearing from my salon clients on how great the restaurant is. We decided to try it for my nephews 1st birthday. We requested for a high chair at the time of the booking when we arrived at the restaurant it wasn't available. My husband placed a order for lamb vindaloo. When he took two mouth full, it was so salty which you couldn't eat. We gave it back to the kitchen to recook the dish, it took then less then 5mins to bring it back to us. When we got the lamb vindaloo back by now they was only 3 pieces of meat floating in the dish. We took it to the counter at the bar. While we were discussing the issue with the manager, a staff member of the bar interfered in the conversation and back chatted that my husband must have taken the meat out. Our family dinner was spoilt as it took more then 15 mins to resolve the issue. This caused a long discussion as my husband was really furious with the staff members comments, all the male on our table were involved to solve the matter. Not forgetting how embarrassing that the rest of the restaurant was aware of the arguments . Everyone on our table had already eaten by the time the management finally got the dish shorted. Had to get my husband food into takeaway. We we're over the restaurants hospitality, so didn't stayed to cut my nephew birthday cake, which was the initial reason we went to the restaurant in the first place. Bollywood management and staff lack customer service. We will never go back.

Ambience, presentation of food, drinks and dessert was very good, Chef's special need to be changed every month and to be made to say WOW! Service was not upto the expectation and the message was not Conveyed properly to the chef or the Chef took the message otherwise and may got hurt with his ego. Price could be adjusted according to the portion of the food. Service could be much better. Anyways all the best...!

We used to love this resturant but not comin back .. staff to busy on the phone ( mobile) .. talk rude and no customer service .. i asked one staff if chef can cook amritsari fish and he never come back .. we have to go to counter to oreder anything .. hardly find any staff around tables.. and long wait after we orderd anything .. food average .. overall used to good . .. droped now ..

Really bad experience staff is so rude it's like they don't even want to serve you food is nowhere near good either waited for around 45 minutes just for starters and didn't even get a apology from the staff but got attitude from one of the girls never ever going back really disappointed

Was great food and service but was a little bit annoyed when our waitress offered our table of 7 people an extra bowl of rice so we could have 3 bowls between us which we assumed was free as she didn't mention their being any charge. When I came to pay the bill I was the last one in our group to pay so I got charged with the extra bowl of rice. I understand that it wouldnt have been much extra but would have been nice to know their was a charge in the first place. Rather disappointing.

So i went for the first time in Bolliwood Howick yesterday. Really enjoyed the service and food. Normally in other Restaurants where rice is given free, i have a spoon or two and leave the rest uneaten. But last night surprisingly I finished my complete rice bowl. Its not that i was extra hungry yesterday, infact the rice were so nice and just as good as my Mom cooks at home. Overall i enjoyed every bit of my experience at Bolliwood.

We visited there and had a very bad service .we booked a table before half n hour and whn we reached there they told us to wait outside.it was really awfull to experience such a service. We are never going here again . Absolutely bad service. I hope the owner reads and does something about the staff who has bad customer service.

Great night at Mehmaan last night.  Thank you Ginni for hosting our Parish Feast dinner.  Nearly 100 guests enjoyed a fantastic meal and had nothing but compliments for the chef, the warm, friendly and professional staff and for going above and beyond to make it a great event for us.  Highly recommend the Mehmaan special blend curry and the mango kulfi!!

Every time I dine there or get a take out I am very happy. Food is always good, tasty and top quality. Staff are very attentive and courteous. This is a great establishment!

Had dinner here on a Saturday night! This place offers an amazing selection of Indian food. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which tasted great but I would’ve liked it better with more sauce. The Naan bread was especially good so I strongly recommend it! <br/><br/>Our order took a while to be served, but the wait staff were friendly and checked up on our table and refilled our water periodically. <br/><br/>The ambience was nice - very spacious and dimly lit. Lights decorated the outside as well which gave the place an overall warm and homey feeling. <br/>

Regularly come here and can't fault it, great friendly service, great food, good prices especially mon-wed deal and the lunch deal. <br/>I have tried various curries and impressed with them all, the Lamb Rogan Josh is superb. No complaints.

Decent food, nothing outstanding here. Ambiance was good and the restaurant was crowded. The waitress was very polite and helpful. We order Kadai Chicken and Mehmaan special vegetarian curry. I tried to order Tomato juice but wasn’t available. My friends ordered wine which he said wasn’t good. Although they changed the wine which was great. The food taste was average but the service was good. Worth a try.

The curries were fantastic and the service just as good. My partner and I ordered a lamb saagwala and a butter chicken, the saagwala was lovely and not too creamy and the butter chicken one of the best I've tasted. I highly recommemd this place

Best curry we’ve ever had ....... very generous amount of meat and the sauce was deliciously thick & flavoursome (not like some thin tasteless curries we’ve had elsewhere). We will definitely be going back to eat in and have since ordered takeaway.

The worst Indian food I have had in 13 years in New Zealand. I was brought up on Indian food coming from the UK and know what is good Indian food and bad, trust me this is bad. Tasteless and a complete waste of money. I called them and let them know and got a sorry. The food was watery, bland and without taste. Give this place a complete miss.

Horrible experience, the food was as good as the customer service, poor! No flavour, no atmosphere... nothing! I hope the next place that takes over after this one fails will be better! A lot better Indian food from any other place in howick

i ordered first time, tandoor chicken, chicken tikka and malai chicken tikka. everything is blank in taste. no spices at all. disappointed 😕.<br/>

Overcharged us and when we were complained were were treated to rude and poor customer service. Overall a poor experience wouldn’t go back again
