Great bread and probably the best sourdough I have had in New Zealand. However the slicing machine has a defect since a few months and owner seems reluctant to fix it. I like my bread sliced, but somehow a couple of slices always end up double the thickness because one of the knives is broken. Quite disappointed that this doesn't seem to get fixed although we and others we know have enquired a few times already.

I stopped by to grab some lunch to take to work. They have quite a lot of delicious savoury and sweet treats. The staff were friendly and helpful in suggesting things to get. I ended up going with the hazelnut profiterole which was filled with delicious chocolate and hazelnut cream. It wasn't my first time there and it definitely wont be the last.

I have finally found my favorite Almond croissant! I used to buy them at the Albany Farro & then one day they stopped selling them & today I've found out Wild Wheat was their supplier, now I know where to get them!

Unbelievable breads and pastries, seriously top of the game. Utter utter perfection. The coffee less so :/ a traditional flat white should be hot but not boiling, and the coffee not over pressed to the point of bitterness. Next time, I'll just take two cinnamon buns :)... and maybe a sourdough for the road. Also, a brownie.

One of my the best places to get a coffee or any kind of bread, very nice, friendly and great costumer service from Ellen, Josh, Lindo, Rose and Rueben.

Excellent hot chocolate and food is awesome - love the gluten free almond chocolate muffins and ginger crunch. Bread is a bit pricey but it is top notch. Would highly recommend this Howick treasure and we often get our team morning teas from here.

Nice artisan bakery. You can definitely taste the difference compared to your local corner bakery. Good selection of sweet, savoury and hot food/drinks. Great price for the quality.

Coffee I bought today was amazing! Also bought a ham pide; sandwich type roll; bread amazing; ham amazing; cheese yummo; chutney amazing but not enough of it; only thing in my opinion was too much salad leaves ; slightly thinner pile and would of been 5* thanks x

Kumara sourdough our favorite with winter soups then toast the leftovers and have tomatoes and avo on top maybe w feta and rocket yummo

Incredible products, the almond croissants are outstanding. All the breads are amazing. I am so happy that we have supplies now on Waiheke Island

Today I hated it, after being a customer of the Belmont store since it opened. Was happily biting into a just purchased hot cross bun when I crunched down on something hard and large. A 14 x 10mm piece of rough white rock, probably quartz. Quality control not adequate. Off to the dentist next week to check for any damage.

This bakery bakes some epic things, makes some awesome coffee too....

Hey Wild Wheat, if you can't make a coffee please don't sell me hot watery milk and claim the "machine just isn't working right" the manager seemed perfect fly fine selling this. Pretty disappointing for my Sunday coffee.

Amazing!! Loved the rosemary sourdough that I picked up! and the truffle & broccoli toasted sandwich was out of this world! YUM. can't wait to go back

High quality, fresh oven baked breads and pastries.

The ambience and vibe of the place sets it up to be a good option for getting fresh bread.

Definitely for those people looking for other options than just supermarket bread this is an excellent choice.

Got the meringue crepe brûlée and chocolate donut. Crime brûlée’ was impressive and we will surely be back for more. Choc donut was decent.

I pop in here every now and then to grab coffee when I’m on the run. Their team are always polite, inviting and really friendly. Coffees are good too!
I am yet to try any of their food choices, but if it’s anything like what I have experienced already, I know it’ll be great.

Been a regular for awhile now. Love love their breads and pantry food! Their vegetarian Sammie (toasted sourdough with veggies) is my favourite and very worth. I remember once I got it and the lady kindly gave me two for one (!!!) because she said the sammies that day were "kinda skinny", which I think shows their amazing service :)
Coffee is nice but not as great as their baked goodies!

Grab my morning coffee here every day, always fresh & consistent. Service is fantastic, staff always remember my order and are super friendly

Come here regularly for their sourdough caraway rye loaf. Great bread, great service and everything on display looks enticing. It's a tiny space with limited seating and I haven't tried their coffee as yet, for me it's all about the bread.

I just love wild wheat!! I've tried their vegetarian and chicken panini and it's delicious. I bought their Rosemary bread and topped it which some bell pepper, onion and cheese and baked it. The bread itself was so tasty. This time, though I tried their veg toastie, pizza slice and cinnamon croissant. I really liked the toasties as they were full of vegetables and tasty. The hot chocolate was the best, I've tried around Howick. The customer service was excellent. The guy, working there was so friendly and the girl working with him was super sweet and had a charming face! :) Overall it's a nice place. :)

Edit- There chicken pide is really delicious and is my all time favourite, though they finish really quick and are not available after lunch. :D

Came by with friend who were raving about this place when they last went, especially the rhubarb creme brulee tart.

It was quite a small bakery but had a bar to sit at facing the pavement. There was quite a large variety of savoury and well as sweet offerings and it looked quite popular since many people came in and out for the bread/pastries or the coffee.

Went with the lamb pie as well as multiple sweet items to try. The pie was really nice. Crispy, flaky pastry and chunky meaty filling. Of all the dessert that I tried I was surprised that I liked the rhubarb and creme brulee tart best because I am not a fan of rhubarb. It was just the well made custard and perfect amount of the crispy sugar on top to make it so delicious.

I can now see why they have a good local following.

Food is amazing here ! The almond croissant and rhubarb creme brûlée tarts are a must ! The first time I tried there chilli chocolate donut it was a good balance , the second time it was way to spicy, maybe just a little heavy handed that day but you won't be diss appointed. Alttle pricey but worth it !

Love their kumara sourdough and cheesecakes! Situated in the heart of Howick this is a great stop-off after work to pick up freshly baked bread and sweet treats.

Nice & friendly people. The products are amazing, from my point of view this is the only place in Auckland where you can buy real bread. For those who don't know the sourdough bread is the most healthy bread you can eat. But all other products they sale are super tasty and healthy. For more info I invite you to visit their website which contains also a lots of details about the sourdough process and more.
