This is the best food I have ever eaten, every night I get three large dishes and devour all three in one sitting because it is so good I just can not stop Their Lemon Chicken is always cooked perfectly and tastes divine They always say 15 minutes pickup and it is always bang on time never disappoints 11/10 would recommend thank you much very

Stoked to find a local Chinese Takeaway that can cater to our gluten free dietary requirements. Kept it simple with chop suey and fried rice, but recently found the S&S Pork was also GF :0). I'm sure there's more too, but still enjoying our new favourites. Great service, fresh ingredients, generous portions and always ready when they say it will be.

Best chow mein hands down. I’ve never been a fan of chow mein until I had one from here last night. Fresh noodles, full of veggies. Delicious 🤤 so happy 😀

Best Chinese in East Auckland. Not greasy and always very fresh - we now drive 30 minutes each way to get as it is that good!
Leslie Crawley
Great fish and chips and the same applies to their Chinese meals

Best Chinese takeaways in East Auckland. My favourite is the Prawn fried rice, but other dishes like the chop sueys and steak ho fan are good also. The portions are big and value for money. Can be busy at times and best to phone order before and then pick up afterwards.

They've been our go-to for Chinese takeaways for over 10years - consistently the best of all the places we've tried!

Great food. Reflected in their pricing. This must be the best Chinese takeaway in the east.
Charles Ormsby
I always order the chicken fried rice and the wonton cause they are made fresh from scratch.
Melissa Bothma
Good food and really large portions. I often get the sweet and sour pork.

A beautiful ,busy township. Always alive.and a lot to do..go do it..amazing...

My favorite food is Singapore fried Noodles and Deep Fried wonton!

Go there every other week. Food is super generous and staff are always positive regardless of how busy they get. My only gripe with them is they need to learn to give customers accurate pick up times. Sometimes they will say 20 minutes on a Friday night but really they mean 45 mins... that being said though, they are worth the wait.

Great takeaway We love the beef rice noodles, very very tasty

The BBQ fire rice is soooo good, I really love it.

Friendly staff and great value.

Great food. Called in to order and pick up was easy. Thought it’ll be helpful to add the special menus that is not included here for others too.

I really love how they batter and deep-fry theit seafood here. I've enjoyed various types here. I did have a piece of deep-fried tarakihi that tasted weird, perhaps it was not fresh? But everything else was nice.

The freshest Chinese takeaway I’ve had. I ordered the chicken fried rice very spicy and sweet and sour fish. Amazing combination full of flavour. Totally recommend 👌🏽

the go to Fish and chip shop in the Howick area lived out these ways for 10 years and tried every place near but always end up going back here

Came here tonight after seeing great reviews and I am so terribly disappointed. The chow mein smelt off, the chicken was so tough as if it had been refried/heated a few times and the hot chips were soggy as possible. Lovely customer service, A grade, friendly staff, however feel I have wasted my money on a meal not touched.

Seriously delicious chinese food and fish n chips. Great service, consistent quality, generous servings and just awesome flavour. We always get the chefs special combo chow mein, chefs special combo fried rice with cashews, sweet n sour pork and crispy wontons. Crispy wontons are some of the yummiest Ive ever tried. Always leftovers for the next day. Highly recommend.

Just ordered takeaways from East Village Takeaways. The chicken chow Mein was so fresh, chicken juicy, flavoursome and tender and all the vegetables perfectly cooked. My parents also had some won tons and said they were so delicious, best ones they have ever tasted. I was told by a friend to order earlier rather than later. Glad I phone ordered, the place was so busy and very full of people ordering.

Decided to try this place out since we live nearby and always see a line inside. We tried their sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, combination fried rice and fried wantons. Serving size was really big. Fed us twice. My partner loves the wantons mostly because you can tell its made by hand. Its very yummy and juicy inside. After trying this place out once, we just keep coming back. We also started trying out their fish and chips now. But... wantons... must try!

My family and I have been eating at East Village for over 15 years and it is still the best Chinese Takeaway today. Absolutely recommended is the Combination Soft Noodles x spicy. Great quantity for the price you pay and wonderful quality. This family is absolutely passionate and dedicated to what they do and it shows in the food.

Delicious food and amazing prices, you will not go hungry. Extremely kind staff too! Just writing about it now is getting me hungry, guess I know what dinner is. 😊

Xlnt dinner. First timer as just moved into our apartment. Ordered via cell phone went to pick and was just ready. It was a very different sweet and sour than I have had before! Crispy skin chicken just yum!!!! The egg fried rice also yum. Massive portion we had one between 2 of us and it also made two lunches and a snack wow! Maybe I will get the half size next time lol

2nd visit tonight for Fish and Chips. Again really nice! Usually go elsewhere but we live just around the corner so you have to try don't ya. There were really good, not greasy at all very fresh fish yummmm.

Will go again and try something different as they have lots of choice.

Kia ora bros, I recently went fish n chips hunting coz da fam needed a mean feed. I ordered a heaps huge amount of chips. We got to the beach and we open the paper to see our golden slices of heaven but to our surprise we find some brown log like chips. Taste was bad as, da seagulls didn't even want em. Long wait for a terrible experience. I'll go to rainbows end I I wanted to ride the log flume. Thanks guys!!!!

Been coming here for years and generally been very reliable. Lately I've noticed that they are really bulking up with huge chunks of broccoli and cauliflower and cutting back on the meat, prawns and noodles. Also almost raw. When I order chow mein, that's what I'd like, not half a kilo of raw veg. Very disappointing and would put me offing returning.

Edit: 28/04/17: They obviously don't read their reviews. Still huge amounts of broccoli and cauliflower at the expense of other ingredients.

The finest fish and chips in East Auckland, top tip, ring your order in. It will save you the wait, especially around peak times.
The fish is always fresh, worth trying the scallops too!
The best value chips as well, always hot.

East village is my go to for Chinese takeaway. The service is great the shop is always busy and the food is fresh and flavourful. The won tons are some of the best in the area and I find myself always going back for more

What a s$&t show. Ordered food for my parents who are both unwell, my parents went to collect and pay and were met with poor customer service and told that I’d already collected the food.
Don't like to be negative with reviews especially local places as try to support them. Unfortunately for this place have to no choice but to be honest as went here based on other good reviews. Portion sizes were generous if you enjoy large pieces of chunky vegetables with very small amounts of meat. Wife had beef & blackbean & what small amount of meat present was chewy. I had chicken curry and both our dishes were very salty so no doubt will be msg based another sign of a cheap place. Sorry to say it but don't go near it as better other local Asian takeaways

The East Village takeaways do a great chicken fried rice noodles, very tasty/spicy, always looking for rice noodles and they do the best I've tried. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Great fish and chips and always a busy place so you know it is good, even when they have a queue out the door, they still have great customer service and will ask how your day is, I don't know how they do it.

My family and I have returned to this takeaway for as long as I remember living in the area. The staff are very friendly despite somewhat limited English, even more so after they recognise you. The menu has a good selection, and portions are very, very good for the price. It may not seem like a lot until it's tipped onto a plate, and even the small size is far more than enough for one person (or, at least me).

The food isn't greasy at all as they don't use animal fat, and they'll cater to dietary requests as best as they can. The food comes out very quick when it's not so busy - but even on Fridays when the wait can get up to 45 minutes it's still very worth it. All of the dishes are must-trys so far, but be warned: their wontons are super addictive.

Their fish and chips are also fantastic as the batter isn't too thick, the fish tastes fresh. Have also seen people go in with their own fish for them to batter, so we might try that sometime. We often take advantage of the fish and chip specials on their wall, and their potato fritters are seriously the BEST. Would definitely recommend.

Been going here since I can remember for the best fish and chips. The combination curry dish is always excellent. Although I live in Australia now I always make a point of stopping here for my favourite feed.

Awesome value for money! I have to go all the way from Dannemora for fish and chips and this place is great. Only found it a few weeks ago via Google Maps, I've ordered there a few times no complaints so far. They need a place like this to service the Dannemora area (Botany)
Roch H
Disappointing, last 2 times I have been here they have got the order wrong and they were quite rude when the error was pointed out. Not going back

Has to be the best value for money in Howick - possibly Auckland!
Seems a shame I am forced to add blah blah blah to make up the 200 characters to qualify for a valid comment. - Adds more, seems 200 characters is a bit more than I initially estimated...
