Very generous portions, very good quality. Chips were under fried first time. Asked for chips to fry longer to be more crispy and they kindly obliged. Now very good and we buy there regularly. We buy crumbled terakihi. Do recommend it.

I highly recommend the steak burger. Very tasty and filling! The fish was juicy, fresh and well cooked and most importantly delicious. Nice fries, welcoming atmosphere, and easy to read menu. Also a good selection of cold beverages.

Well deserved 5 stars. we could not fault the food, very tasty and cooked to perfection. their batter is excellent. well priced, we will definitely visit again.

I live near by this takeaway shop but today it's my first visit to it. I ordered snapper and chips for me and my families. The fish is very delicious, well battered. The battered surface is crunchy, fish inside is soft and fresh. Chip is also crispy outside and meshed and nice inside. I will definitely visit them more, ordering different food like mussels, squid etc next time.

Always struggling to find a good fish and chips. This was Fabulous. Fish was seasoned - bought Tarakihi. Chips could have a little more salt but over all a very affordable both price and portion wise meal. Ill be seeing you again.

This place has the yummiest food ever and they also have really great service, this place also has nice workers definitely my go to takeaway shop.

Having a good local Fish & Chip shop is an essential for me, and The Reel Catch absolutely deliver. Their food is consistently of a good quality, and they always get the order right - which is especially impressive given how busy they can get. A quality local spot, will be back again often.

First time trying here tonight, we found it via Google after having a craving for dinner tonight. Best decision of the day, this place has fantastic fish and chips, light crunchy batter on the hoki, packs are a great deal to buy. Crab stick, pineapple donut and prawn twisters were all very tasty as well. We have definitely found our new fav F&C store. Highly recommend, thanks guys for a great meal.

Reel Catch became our new local fish n chip shop after the one off Gossamer closed just over a year ago. I always recommend to people looking to try a new takeaway shop! Great food and really awesome service, have never been disappointed. Best potato fritters.

So happy to have a local fish and chip shop that has a battered gluten-free fish option for my allergic son. We've brought gluten-free and regular options three times over this summer and the whole family enjoyed their version of f&c every time.

Guys, you have the opportunity to be a good take away in the area. Number one: Stop serving precooked fish. Cook to order!<br/>Chips were good and crispy, golden. Fish was slightly warm and soggy from being pre fried and left in the basket. No pleasant to eat. Also, chips need salt!!!<br/>Good size portions though.

Service was good, but that is where the good bits end. Super disappointed with my first try of Reel Catch. I read the google review and thought this will be great. Especially as we had visitors to New Zealand having their first fish and chips. Absolutely the worse fish and chips I have had. Everything was so oily. Photos says it all. The large item is the fish and the rest potaetoe fritters. And I spent $54!! Our visitor couldn't even eat the fish it was so oily. We all did our best to eat what we could as the kids were hungry and we didnt have anything else to quickly prepare. Threw away at least $15 of food. Very embarressed serving this up to our guests

Been coming here for a while now. My kids and my family absolutely love this place. The fish is great, the chips are perfect and the staffs are super friendly. We need more local businesses like this.

Holy taleto, I'm a happy and lucky man to call The Reel Catch my local. Friendly and fast service, incredible tasty/quality food and good pricing. By far the best sea dog of I've ever had.

I used to love coming here but unfortunately ownership has changed and with this came a drop in quality of food. Kids taking orders and not listening doesn't help either. How hard is it to deep fry some chips and fish and not make a mess of it? Wont be coming back sadly.

Previous owner (Ken) started this tiny fish n chips shop and it was perfect. The customer service, the food.. Everything about this place was just perfect. Unfortunately he decided to sell the place to incompetent  people. The customer service turned out to be just like every other cheap Chinese take away, and the food is disgusting. I tried on multiple occasions to try with them, and every time turned out to be worse than the time before. I am writing this review from bed as result of being food poisoned from this place. Ordered fish burger and half an hour later developed body ache and the rest is not the right forum to discuss.

After reading all the negative feedback about the new owners, I decided to give this place a try. Fortunately, I was more than pleasantly surprised since their fish was in my opinion the best I’ve ever had, even better than the previous owners. The batter was incredibly crisp, not at all greasy, perfectly seasoned, all coating the juicy tender fish perfectly without the fish and batter separating as with some other places. All served with above average fries from a polite and friendly kid hanging out with his brothers and sisters in the family business, I highly recommend others to give the new owners a chance and not be turned off by other less than stellar reviews. :)

We ordered snapper, crab sticks and chips to go and eat asst the beach... the snapper was really beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. We will recommend this place any day. Thank you.

We mostly go here for fish and chips. In the beginning when this place was new we often got some free extra's like a few loempia's and the kids even got once a donut. Now this doesn't happen anymore and that's a pity since you are kind of expecting it as it happened every time. Also the portions of chips seem to become a bit smaller then they used to be. Anyway, the food is good and the owners are very kind.

The real catch is fresh its lovely everythings cooked Perfect i recommend this fish n chips shop to anybody who likes a good old indulgeing experience its great

Incredible service with the friendliest staff i've ever encountered at any shop. The food is of incredible value as its cheap and you get large portions for low cost. Ordered from these guys many many times and have never had a bad experience

The best fish and chips we've found so far in Auckland. Our first visit they were very busy and had a 45min wait but so worth it. Highly recommend

Snapper fish doesn't taste fresh, it was extremely soggy, the chips are burnt and they tastes like old potatoes and also the boxes they give are non related to fish and chips. I don't recommend you buy from this shop.

The Reel Catch is easily my favourite local take out and is the best fish&chips joint around. <br/><br/>The chips are always cooked to perfection - nice and cripsy but not overly oily (like many other fish&chip branches). The burgers are delicious and always packed with contents and flavor (the Chicken Burger is my favourite!). And the fish, although I don't get often, is always fresh! All of which is still very cheap too.<br/><br/>The Reel Catch is also run by a such a friendly and kind family that it makes for some of the best customer service in all of Auckland (like seriously, I wish more of my customer service experiences were like this place). <br/><br/>Absolutely love this place

I used to hate fish and chips as they are usually so greedy and leave a bad taste in your mouth , decided to give the reel catch a go when they opened and I definitely did not regret it !!, fish is amazing always fresh, chips are always Chrissy and yummy and not greasy!!, burgers are to die for !!, steak burger alllll the way !!, and all the combos are awesome !! Makes it a better opputunity for me to feed a family of 2 adults and 3 kids easy !!!!!! You guys rock !!, megan

The fish bites and chips option are delicious and a fabulous meal for two (or three). Perfect for children! Try the doughnut Jam. It is yummy. I love the hot chips because they are crispy and they also do Kumara chips. The owners are beautiful people, friendly, kind, and generous.

Great food and service from family owned business. I loved their fish which is fresh and a decent size. The batter was nice and crispy without the oily taste. Also loved their burgers, had the steak and egg burger which is so much better than the burgers from the large fast food chain. Definitely the place to go for the best takeaway in East Auckland.

If you haven't been here you should give them a try - great take aways and brilliant service. Fish is fresh, chips are nice and crispy .....
