Review Caffe Windsor - Inglewood

This was our favorite stop of our entire trip to NZ! Amazing breakfast, coffee, and even their juice was top notch. Great service and prices. We went back two days in a row before we had to leave the area! Definitely worth a stop in!

"Hidden Gem Alert! Caffe Windsor is a delightful find tucked away in Inglewood. I can't recommend their coffee enough; it's truly excellent and always hits the spot. And let's talk about their milkshakes - an absolute 10 out of 10! Creamy, flavorful, and pure bliss. When it comes to food, their toasted sandwiches are my go-to choice. They never disappoint and provide the perfect sustenance to keep me going throughout the day. Oh, and a word of warning: it's nearly impossible to resist their cabinet desserts on the way out the door. They're simply irresistible! Caffe Windsor has become my favorite spot to recharge and indulge in delicious treats. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere add to the overall experience. If you're in Inglewood, don't miss out on this wonderful cafe. Highly recommended!" I hope you find this review helpful!

Every time we have to go to New Plymouth we come to Cafe Windsor for lunch. Lovely staff, excellent food (the chicken and bacon sandwich is the best). Had to take my mother up to NP today and our experience today was no different. My mother is grateful for a nice hot coffee and we can’t wait to come back.

Would strongly recommend this place if you like: Amazing friendly service Delicious exciting food Great atmosphere Plenty of yummy dishes to choose from Prompt service Relaxed environment Fair prices A flavour explosion on your plate Leaving with a full tummy and a smile on your dial 😊 While photographing our meals, I knocked my full drink over spilling it everywhere. The staff saw what happened and were attentive with a cloth to mop it up. Unexpectedly, the staff were right back with a replacement drink for me and a smile. Will certainly return to this fine establishment!

Stopped for a late lunch and we were all very happy with this find. Many tempting options on the menu, and everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Good coffee and milkshakes too. Staff was super friendly and service was excellent.

Meals smaller than usual. Pesto on gurnard wasn't to hubby's taste. Pesto taste took over. But the other 3 of us enjoyed our meals. Great atmosphere. Friendly and very helpful staff.

Stopped in for the donuts, but by the time we got there they'd sold out and we missed out. The coffee was nice and served reasonably quickly. It's a cool venue, with indoor and outdoor seating. The wood fire wasn't going when we visited but no doubt it is very cosy on a cold day. Lots of easy parking outside.

What a fantastic spot for breakfast. The staff were super friendly and the food was divine! Eggs bene is not too be missed and one of the best I've ever tried. Half portions were also available for the bene which is perfect if you don't feel like over filling yourself. And to finally find a Cafe that has decent sized cups for tea drinkers! I'm super impressed and would highly recommend this Cafe. Thanks heaps!

I’ve been all over NZ to many different cafe’s but how lucky am I to live where the best cafe in NZ is .. the food is the best I’ve had and the staff are awesome. Only issue I have is i come here too often and I can’t go anywhere else because nothing is as good! Haha if I’m ever on death row and I’m aloud a final meal , it will definitely be something from here . 10 out of 5 stars . Champions 💪

Please do not microwave a Panini, it’s insulting to the sandwich. Toasted please. When I asked the guy at the counter his response was, it’s already toasted Previously, but we heated up in the microwave. It was soggy not have a Panini should be served.

Love the vibe of this place, very elegant ,food is good, would highly recommend their feta salad, sangria is divine and they do keep hosting music nights ,I would however recommend the management to make the experience more artsy then it is since it's called art house cafe. The service is great too !all in all : recommend !

This is now Cafe Windsor. I have been here a few times in the last few years and never had a bad experience. Had a yummy omelette, the caramelized onions and balsamic vinegar provided a nice touch, my partner equally happy with her mushrooms and bacon on Vienna toast. Eggs done just right and all wadhed down with nice moccacino. Staff friendly, happy to recommend this place.

Booked for lunch today. The restaurant was busy. There were 8 of us. It took one hour for our lunch to arrive. We were not offered any jugs of water. They had run out of hash browns and several of us had ordered those. Two people ordered the shrimp and avocado salad. There was no avocado to be seen. Two of us ordered mushrooms and bacon on Vienna toast. The bread wasn't toasted so was somewhat soggy, though the mushrooms themselves were nice. The big breakfasts were tasty,as were the pancakes. We accepted they were busy, which was why we didn't worry about asking for water. However, the restaurant cleared somewhat, but we did not see any staff, once we had our meals. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert, or coffee, basically we were ignored. Pretty disappointing lunch. Some people had a coffee beforehand which they said was good. Basically it was the service that left a lot to be desired.

We called in for lunch on the 23/02/13 as we had been told that it was great. Unfortunately it's not!!

We ordered the seafood fettuccine and the chicken livers. The service was bad and extremely slow. We were told that they didn't have any sauce left for the seafood fettuccine so I asked for the sauce from the chicken fettuccine which she said was fine. It came out with a creamy tomato sauce....was neither! The chicken livers straight away looked bad and certainly weren't the "plump" livers advertised on the board.
There was 4 1/2 livers on a thick dry bit of toast in gravy. No garnish, just slapped on. For the 40 mins we waited we definitely expected more.

Now maybe this was because it was 2 pm and the chef and wait staff wanted to go home on a Saturday, but the point was that we paid for good food and service and did not receive either.

We will not be going back and wont be recommending to others. A shame because it's in a good spot and quite a neat place!!

Stopped in for breakfast/lunch on our way back to Hamilton and think this cafe is fantastic!! The staff were very friendly, service was quick and the meal was lovely. I had the Farmer's Breakfast and it was HUGE!! The coffee was exactly how I wanted it (and I'm fussy) and good quality. This is not the first time I've had a meal at Macfarlanes and will not be the last.

Was told great things about this place. Maybe we had them on a bad day.
We went in here for lunch after a bike ride around Mountain. I ordered chicken salad, thinking you can't really go wrong with a salad. How wrong was I.
The chicken salad didn't have that much chicken in it, the chicken it had was not the best parts of the chicken that is for sure. The lettuce was stringy to say they least.
We won't be back and would not recommend to anyone.

Went here for breakfast and had the french toast which was nice enough but sadly the coffee was very average. The staff were helpful and friendly which was pleasing.
I thought that the place needed a bit of a scrub down-our table hadnt been wiped down very well (had crumbs all over it)and we also sat by the window which needed a good clean.

Love this caffe in Inglewood, as we live in central Taranaki it makes a good lunch convenient place to stop for lunch if we go to New Plymouth. Menu has a good selection with prices ok, coffee good.
