Review Cabbage Tree - Invercargill

Seafood Chowder tasty, opted for the main size and couldn't finish it!! Huge bowl, lots of mussels, calamari and shrimp (less fish than usual). Soup was thick and creamy. Staff are always helpful and attentive. Steak was tender and cooked to order with chips salad and a delightful peppercorn sauce. Steaks $40 plus, but plenty of items in whats called the tavern menu (pasta, nachos, snitzel $25 to $35). Extremely good outdoor area, excellent for summer days.

The slimmed down menu is much better. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was better this visit as we didn't have to wait too long for orders to be taken. Good prices. Plenty of options for those with dietary requirements

Beautiful food mixed in with great service and natural environment, 2 play areas. Casual n chill atmosphere on Saturday afternoons for us and we linger there long after our meal. Go feel it out, you will tell others about it too

Amazing dining experience by far. The food we order exceeded our expectations. We love. All of the food on the table and with the price we paid it's all worth it. Having outdoor play area for an active toddler like our son is a plus for a fine dining like the cabbage tree. It gives the family time to go out and dine in a fancy restaurant without worrying of having kids with them. Our boy enjoyed the art material that was give to him too so it's another plus👍Great place, and customer service ⭐

Menu is much better not the 10 pages it used to be. Great atmosphere good for kids on sunny days. The food was up to scratch and would go again as i hadn't been there in a long time.

Passing through pit stop wow what a cool place fantastic atmosphere xo Excellent service beers ice cold we had the panfried onion rings as I'm severely allergic to fish and most places fry everything in the same oil. Staff was fantastic in understanding our needs 10/10 for hospitality and service. A must stop for a great feed.

Amazing! Loved it! I had the salmon eggs Benedict and I was surprised that it came with a whole salmon steak! I was very happy, beautifully cooked, hollandaise sauce was on point! Eggs were beautiful! My husband had the ribs full rack which was Amazing! And the chips were nice and crisp. We ordered more for dinner later that day. Very very impressed and would definitely come here again when I'm back in town. Casey and the staff you guys are awesome!

Wonderful service, great atmosphere, and pretty good food for the most part. I would have liked to give five stars but I was very disappointed by the Cajun chicken salad - the lettuce was warm and soggy, the bacon was more like luncheon, there were only a few tiny burnt cashews in it. A shame as the nachos that I also tried were fantastic!

A great meal. Wide selection of dishes for a table d'hote menu. Along with a well considered wine list. The dishes arrive well presented along with ample food per portion. Dining staff are attentive but not intrusive. Simple decor, with a relaxing ambiance.
