Review Thai Opal - Invercargill

Given the reviews, we went in with high expectations and Thai Opal exceeded them. We have dairy and gluten allergies in our group and sometimes have to settle for lesser fare. Not here! The chicken satay and spring rolls were outstanding! The dairy free mango lassi was superb and we loved the chicken massaman curry, too. On top of all that, the service was fantastic - friendly and prompt. Great find!

We were very impressed with our meals of lemon chicken and cashew nuts with a combo of beef,lamb & seafood. The latter was loaded with cashews. The staff are very friendly & helpful,& everything is extremely well priced & value for money.

Overall good yummy food. Not super authentic but still tasty.

Wow, what a great restaurant. Our meals were delicious-chicken satay, beef and veges, chicken green curry. Good sized potion, even had enough chicken satay for lunch. Yum yum. Friendly service too

Great food. Affordable prices. Generous servings! The pineapple fried rice deserves a notable mention too, and you can’t go wrong with a mango lassi alongside (ask for it extra strong!). Highly recommend.

A decent meal for Thai food served on the tip of the South Island! Pleasant and flavourful.

I went here with a group of 6 people, atmosphere was lovely, and friendly. Our drinks orders and food orders were taken in a timely manner however when it came to delivery of the food, it was very staggered. mine came first then about 15 mins later another 3 dishes came then maybe 10 mins later the last two. so i was waiting about 30 mins before i started my food for everybody else to get theirs so we could eat together - hence my dinner was almost cold by that point. very disappointing. Other tables were served in between our table getting their mains which i found rather strange. the food was tasty but would have been a whole lot better if all our food had come out at a similar time.
