Went to Red Eight for a coffee date, it was the first time I'd sat inside and had food as opposed to grabbing a takeaway hot chocolate (because they definitely have the best hot chocolate in Kaiapoi!) The staff was really nice and it was very clean, the decor was very trendy and would be a cute insta spot if you're into that kinda thing. We ordered the pancakes. They were absolutely amazing! We would highly recommend and are definitely coming back!

Cute wee café run by people who obviously have a passion for what they do. I loved that they provided hot water with the pot of tea, and used high quality leaves. Really attractive cabinet food. This café screams high quality but is incredibly understated. I might have found my new breakfast go-to place. The only thing that would have improved the atmosphere would be a little background music. Bach maybe, or Beatles?

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Loads of gluten free options that all taste like the real deal not cardboard. This cafe is right by my work so I've noticed their quality has been really consistent.

A very nice breakfast, I had an avo on rosti, which was delicious but I wish the poached egg was with a runny yolk on top of it. Otherwise it was very nice and well presented. My husband also had an avo but on rye bread with scrambled egg, it looked and tasted very good too. Both dishes are decent size and we were super full. Coffee and hot chocolate were very good quality and fast despite a busy Tuesday morning.

Really great cafe, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. They even cooked breakfast for me before the kitchen officially opened. Highly recommended
