Review Kanniga Thai Restaurant - Kaiapoi

Wow! We've lived in Kaiapoi two years but don't often eat out, so took the opportunity to visit with friends. Very impressed! Fabulous, friendly staff, lovely relaxing atmosphere, and the food was incredible 👌 The pineapple friend rice with pork belly is out of this world. Thanks team, we shall definitely be back!

Had take out, can highly recommend this restaurant. Ordered online super easy and fast. Absolutely loved our meal. Chicken satay sticks 😋 curry puffs with sweet chilli sauce 😋 and Kanniga's peanut sauce with beef 😋. Can specify what meat or vegetarian. 😋😋😋😋😋Have been back and eaten in a few times now, still delicious food.

After close to two weeks of travelling in NZ, I really missed spicy food, so I was very happy to find this restaurant. We ordered the tom yam seafood soup ($17), stir-fried basil chili pork ($21.50), roasted duck red curry ($21.50) and garlic stir-fried vegetables ($18.50). “Thai Hot” is a legit level of spiciness here, and anything with that level of spiciness reminds me of the Thai food I have at home and in Thailand. The food here is fresh and delicious and tastes authentically Thai, and service is great as well.

We finally tried Kanniga Thai and it was really good food! Prices were slightly higher than we were expecting, but we did get a good amount of food and it was very good. We had it takeaway and the service was quick and easy. We will order again for sure!

Love the food here ..decor is beautiful. The young ladies who serve are lovely aswell. I recommend the chicken pad thai and the thai green chicken curry. I usually ring up order and takeaway..have dined in aswell..either way i am always happy with my meals and service.

Great service and food. I’d highly recommend the dish I had it was Thai spicy fried rice with crispy pork belly. Their crispy pork belly is VERY YUMMMM.👍🏻👍🏻 I will definitely come back!!

Love this place always outstanding food A++ Downfall the two young girls with unpleasant attitudes on front desk, always the same makes it a lil dreadful picking up your takeaways.

This is a very good local Indian restaurant which I often recommend to others. The food is always excellent however during a recent visit the service was poor due to a lack of experienced wait staff. It was just the owner and a new young staff member who seemed to lack training of even basic duties. Hopefully your level of service can be improved so that the overall dining experience is enjoyable.
